**FULL GAME RTA SPEEDRUNS** Personal and World Records Topic
« on: October 25, 2012, 07:52:05 pm »
Until YE and whoever else get the time to add in a real time area on the single segment rankings page, I think it's best if we use this thread to track everyone's personal records and world records.  We need a place to link the casual viewers who are asking for the WRs page and what not, so I'm going to start posting everyone's REAL TIME runs here.  Again, real time runs only.  I'll post what I know, and if I'm missing your run or someone else's run, then please post and I'll add it into this post!

Good job Goose! It's nice and organized but I think spoilers would help compact it all a bit. Otherwise, it's awesome!

Yeah I'm not happy with the formatting but I don't know how to remove board automatic formatting.  I think it'd be better without the embedded youtube videos.  Someone plz help.

Also, a very good and seemingly easy setup for a page for this would be like the zelda leaderboards

http://zeldaspeedruns.com/leaderboards/

http://zeldaspeedruns.com/leaderboards/oot

http://zeldaspeedruns.com/leaderboards/oot/mst

If you click on the oot page, that's all we'd really need.  Then all the categories are in there.  Within the category, you can post your own time with a link to the video and a brief comment.  The formatting seems really simple and all we need are 5 categories.

What you can do is to turn a sentence into a hyperlink. Here is how you can do it. Hope it helps.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
NOTE: No spaces in the code at all.
1. Put a [

2. Type in "url" right after it (no quotation marks)

3. Put = right next to it

4. Put in the URL of your video with it in between quotation marks.

5. Then close it with a ]

6. Right after the bracket, type in the sentence you want to be hyperlinked.

7. Then close the whole code with a [/url]
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So the whole code would work like this: Marc's WR Agent Run (21:58)

With bold: Marc's WR Agent Run (21:58)

Example (only agent section):

That doesn't work. One way to avoid the automatic embedding on this forum is to use youtu.be links, like this:

Test for bypassing Embedding, I take Axel's run for example.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYsSOy5aWVI

Ugh, modifying this post constantly, https a good idea?

EDIT: youtu.be tests:
http://www.youtu.be/OYsSOy5aWVI

Axel NTSC Run

And this is a normal Embed:
Axel Zakrisson - GoldenEye Agent 19:51 (NTSC)

The Embed is disabled due to the limit, but for the other links above, it doesn't appear.
The links above might work, without Embed at all :)

What might be a good idea is an option to disable or enable Embedding in the "Additional Options..."

Weird, the links worked when I was typing out the post. At least speedruntrainer's is working.

BTW, the problem with yours Mano, was that you didn't have the URL in quotes.

There is no problem with mine. Copy and paste it and you'll see that it works fine. Putting the URL in quotes is what caused your link not to work.

Did a 22:45 Agent run at the MN meet with a Cradle 1:03 or so. Pretty epic run overall, had train 107 and silo 107 (no cinema ), just had a horrible statue 2:41 or something and a really awful facility time like 53.

00A SPEEDRUN 38:16

100% SPEEDRUN: 1:02:32.63

General comments, mission times and level comments:

Didn't expect to get sub 1:03:00 this fast! It was an epic moment when i killed trev on Cradle Agent and immidiately looked on the timer. Chat exploded once i completed the level. Done without mic because i'm still a little sick atm and my voice is fucked up.

MISSION TIMES FOR 1:02:35.63

Dam 00 Agent: 2:01 - Standard.

Facility 00 Agent: 1:07 - Decent Doak, can't complain.

Runway 00 Agent: 0:46 - Acceptable for my standards. (I suck at this level)

Surface 1 00A: 1:55 - Much worse than my standards. Bad locks for the ending.

Bunker 1 00A: 1:24 - Horrible.

Silo 00A: 1:37 - Standard.

Frigate 00A: 1:19 - Good run, good hostages for once :)

Surface 2 00A: 1:49 - Standard.

Bunker 2 00A: 1:18 - Okay run, but slightly worse than my usual. Had an unlucky mainframe room and clipboard guard, the rest was fine.

Statue 00A: 2:33 - Good run, good fr! :)

Archives 00A: 0:56 - Usually get 57's/58's here, can't complain!

Streets 00A: 2:02 - Got shot a few times at the start and ultimately decided to grab the BA at the start losing a little time.

Depot 00A: 1:19 - Standard.

Train 00A: 2:41 - Good. The typcial standard 235-250ish run.

Jungle 00A: 1:21 - Slightly off standard, but can't complain.

Control 00A: 4:39 - It's alright.

Caverns 00A: 2:01 - I was the first one to go balls out on this level, and it finally payed off! :) Used the fastest strat, but did it as safe as possible. Almost died!

Cradle 00A: 0:55 - Good suicide!

Aztec 00A: 2:27 - Oh boy what i have to say about this run. I was arguing with myself throughout the whole start whether to make the glass attempt or not. I ultimately decided to go balls out! I was certain that the glass wouldn't open, especially because it's JAP and it's 00A. My heart skipped a beat when the guards opened the glass door. Did standard safe vents, then something ridic happened. For some reason i thought right at this moment, that i was playing SECRET AGENT AND YOLO'D THE LAST DRONE ROOM. I had a blackout, there's no other explanation to why i would think it was SA. I only had like 1-2 bars from my BA and amazingly i got lucky and survived. I should've been dead because i had 0 bars for some time before i escaped into the vents! What a run.

Egypt 00A: 0:54 - Great run!

THE CHEATS:

Aztec SA: 3:33 - I ultimately decided to ignore the glass, since i refused to believe i would get so lucky to have it opened TWICE. I decided to try and do a solid old strat run, and i did! 3:33 is certainly a very solid time for this strat.

Control SA: 4:38 - Got screwed off so much health that the only reasonable option was to nap the BA upstairs. Good run.

Dam SA: 1:22 - Decent run, but could have caked 1:20. I was awfully nervous though and tried to do EVERYTHING safe.

Runway Agent: 0:24.

Surface 1 SA: 1:51 - Good run!

Silo Agent: 1:14 - Solid run for not watching cinemas! I was so nervous from the start that scientists were gonna fail.

Frigate SA: 1:24 - Didn't get as lucky as my 00A 1:19, but i can't complain.

Bunker 2 Agent: 0:30 - Didn't watch cinema, solid run.

Statue SA 2:31: Did the trev shot! Very solid run :) (jk about the trev shot)

Streets Agent: 1:15 - Standard.

Depot SA: 0:57 - Mediocre drone room, but nailed trainshot (and got a few boosts too! :D)

Jungle Agent: 1:07 - Another epic survive. The HIGHLIGHT of the run along with Aztec 00A. I actually had no health left after the last drone and was already crying here. Some way, somehow, i survived. The whole chat was in silence in this moment.

Cradle Agent: 0:48 - Awesome finnish! I didn't watch much cinema, so the time is much better than it appears to be. I killed trev with double ZMG's.

Good luck with the floor, and everything else, Clemens! You only got 1 hour, 2 minutes, 35 seconds, and 6 tenths.

Gonna watch now.  38:16 for 00A is fucking unreal (almost what Henning had for mission time on his outstanding NTSC-EN run.)

Something like that  ;)

But yeah - I'm in full support of just ignoring the run. It was much more for my own self than for any rankings. Unless someone actually wants to compare my emu time to their own emu time.  :nesquik:

I failed silo and stopped playing for 2 minutes on that run. then finished it lol. that run wasn't highlighted so it isn't on twitch but i still have the dvd if anyone actually requires proof. This will be improved when I actually complete a run lol

Agent 22:22

Argh, 2 seconds away from WR (well converted WR anyway).

Dam 0:55 - standard
Facility 0:46 - 44 pace till 3rd mine boost but I messed that up, also bT. 46 is decent though
Runway 0:23 - standard, I go a bit to the right when approaching the plane to prevent any chance of it blowing up
S1 1:04 - Sniped the locks, pretty good
B1 0:20 - standard
Silo 1:12 - meh
Frigate 0:34 - I saved the last SA hostage and I believe he helped me get a fast A completion
S2 0:55 - standard
B2 0:29 - standard
Statue 2:34 - pretty bad.. I didn't attempt the TS because it was a pretty good run till this point and then I had an average FR
Archives 0:18 - very low, but 17/18 is standard anyway
Streets 1:15 - standard
Depot 0:26 - this is usually 26 when I nail the TS or 28 if I miss it. Had to be very high though because the roller door was still opening as I approached it :P
Train 1:13 - kinda ugly but for some reason I can't get better than 1:10 on a speedrun. Not very used to NTSC Train and I usually have bad nerves at this point.
Jungle 0:56 - bad xenia, but ok run otherwise
Control 4:05 - did glass SA style, A was up for a little over a second
Caverns 1:06 - probably low decimal, decent run with bad ending
Cradle 0:47 - Trev should have died on the ramp but he didn't. 40-41 is decent here.

A really sick run would give 21:xx but 22:1x is already very solid IMO.

Secret Agent 31:54

Good last levels, but the start of the run was sub-par overall. Still solid since I had aztec 151 and control 413  :) Also streamed  :nesquik:

Nice job on that.. I assume it's equal to about mid 29 mission time?

I got..

Agent - 22:13

Dam 0:55 (best 0:54) - standard
Facility 0:45 (best 0:44) - good run, bT also
Runway 0:23 (best 0:23) - standard
S1 1:04 (best 1:03) - sniped the locks! good run
B1 0:21 (best 0:19) - meh, kinda bad ending but whatever

Silo 1:13 (best 1:07) - crap, but I was getting trolled all the time on this level
Frigate 0:36 (best 0:30) - borderline acceptable for me. If I had anything worse I would have done the 49 throw on S2
Surface 2 0:55 (best 0:49) - standard. Don't do the throw unless the run is bad
Bunker 2 0:29 (best 0:29) - good run!
Statue 2:27 (best ???) - Did the TS but slow recovery. 2nd best FR spot

Archives 0:18 (best 0:17) - got a little trolled at Nat but no big deal, only lost .5ish if even that
Streets 1:15 (best 1:14) - mid 3:53 fade. It can't get much better than that really unless you get the GL which is rare anyway
Depot 0:26 (best 0:26) - good run!
Train 1:12 (best 1:05) - just barely acceptable, but I can't really handle this level well anymore because I get nerves from Statue onwards, it's pretty ridic)
Jungle 0:58 (best 0:52) -  pathetic, did pretty bad on Xenia

Control 4:10 (best 4:03) - great run except for Nat trolling me wherever she could
Caverns 1:06 (best 1:03) - :v
Cradle 0:40 (best 0:40) - can't really get better than 40 here unless you go for a fast kill

It can still go lower (like 10s, maybe 15+ on a really insane run) but it's hard to get good times on every single level. I do pretty bad on the last set of levels because I have so many nerves from like Statue so yeah, I get kinda screwed and lose a lot because of that). Happy with this for now, unless Marc trolls with some quicker time. :nesquik:

edit - BTW I don't know when Marc stops the timer, but I think stopping at cradle fade is the way to go here.
edit 2 - This is only 19:13 mission time (thanks Mirror!). Yeah 22:13 isn't as good as I thought and Marc claimed some 19:04 run lol. :-\

Ive been timing my runs until the cinema pops up, but we should all agree on an exact time to hit the timer yes. since the fade is counted towards mission time on most stages I figured it should be part of the timing as well.

So basically soon as you hit start to load dam, end soon as last levels cinema is visible. anyone disagree with these timings?

Yeah my WR was worse than i thought. My mission time is 4 seconds better, but i watched B2 cinema. Btw, my run is 21:53 (About 22:15 perhaps) if timing at cradle fadeout. Grats on 2 sec improvement, Ace!  :kappa:

Yeah I was wondering how you were managing 27s on B2. :-?

I think I am going to use PAL in the future. It'd make me a lot more consistent on Train/Jungle and overall I don't think it'd be a huge loss. But yeah sub 22 can happen converter-less on a really smooth run. Solid times from Train-Caverns should be about 1:07, 0:54, 4:04ish and 1:04 which itself is about 15 seconds quicker than the times on my run. And there's the S2 49 throw which isn't as bad as I thought.. worth risking if you have Frig 35-36 or worse.

Also, I timed from File Select. If it's from Dam Agent then it's about 1-2 seconds quicker. It's funny how people use different start/end points. :v

Timing from file select is the correct way.

How did you pass me in post count? Spammer  :kappa:

but yeah, I think rules should be from file select to black screen (credits) after Cradle end screen.

Every game ive seen starts the timer as soon as you begin loading the actual game, so GE should be the same. As soon as you select dam and the screen goes black, start the timer.

Congrats though ace, that sounds impressive in terms of real time.

And my SA run was actually a 28:38 if my calculations were correct. So I was roughly 1 minute behind henning in mission time, although with Silo being retarded its really only like 40 seconds overall.

When playing on emu - I always time when I hit start on Dam.

My reason is that this is when the game actually starts. It's like if I had to enter a file name - I can't think of a game where the file name actually counts towards the game time - simply because it isn't part of the game, just the...pre-game so to speak.

The reason I hit the end of my run at the beginning of the cradle fade is because that's when character control is lost. After this point, no more inputs that you can perform affect the gameplay, therefore it is the end...

But that's my opinion, so yeah. . . (inb4 flame)

Agent - Enemy Rockets - 28:55 :nesquik: :v :v :nesquik:

Crap time. Died on Caverns, Control and had a few sucky levels. Around 25 would be good I think. The only levels I'm really safe on are Silo and Train.

All 60 Levels - 1:47:19 - Video

- One quitout at the beginning of Train SA costing me about 10-12 seconds
- One quitout at the end of Jungle A costing me about 1 minute
- One quitout at the end of Jungle SA costing me about a little over a minute
- Cavs 00A 3:30 due to not having JAP.. it's still a pretty decent time though
- Rest was pretty decent I guess, no deaths

1:42ish would be sick but I think even like 1:44 would be very solid since it's hard to not have at least one major mistake. :nesquik:

30, I suck. But maybe I decided to stream at a bad time so w/e. :kappa:

Just did this now: SA - 37:48

Lost exactly 6:02 on Caverns.. scientists lived pretty much every attempt but I got screwed by low health and troll guards.. 31:54 is still kinda insane though as this run had stuff like S1 1:50, B1 0:25, Depot 0:49 and a lot of other good times. Only lost about 20s due to a terrible B2 and bad FR.

elite streaming in a nutshell

1. goose starts speedrunning a new or underplayed caterogy of GE speedrunning. Becomes popular with it, people enjoy watching it.
2. Ace or Clemens or Inki set a ridic record in front of 2 people (most likely wouter and eise smit)
3. Repeat above steps
