I was just playing Caverns Agent, for 102 of course :P Well, i decided to have a go at strafing up the spiral the other way... to my surprise i reached the top faster than i usually do-right strafing. I had more goes at this and got it down well. One run - perfect start, perfect strafe, everything was great, the music was at the timing of boss' vid. and then the end! AMAZING - boost around bend, boost through turret, boost, and then boost into elevetor !!! :eek  

time: 1:05                WTFWTF this run was faster than my 103's and its 105... if any experienced eliter want to explain this crazyness to me i woul LOVE that! for now ill just play with the old strafe - facing inside the cave... damnit, i really thought i had 1:02 >:

I'd like to see that vid aswell, and going up the sprial can't be faster in left straf. Your not seeing the turns and staying close to the inside line, so no way in hell you would be going faster.

1:05 is prolly a decent time for that strat though.:smokin :)

Actually it can be faster i believe, since you don't need any strafe changes at all, prolly just alot harder to master.You could use full lookdown in order to see the edge.

splice a 1:03 and your 1:05 together so you see both with starts synched up, you'll see exactly where you slowed down.

theres probably less lag because you're looking at the wall, but not keeping good lines.

Interesting, but probably doesn't help. It's possible that you hit start so quickly that your cinemas were off time according to the music. But hopefully you aren't strafing that area like PX9 :b

My best guess (without seeing the video) is that when you're hitting the end of the ledge, so it would mess up the speed of the strafe.

But yea I would like to see a vid.

All I will say about that is the music for Caverns is @#%$ up.  Aside from that yeah probably didn't do the spiral as well as it might have looked.

yeah i watched it again, and ill film it now :D  

i think bryans right, and the music is just retarded. Its as if ive lagged the music, and been going at 105 speed. so - it makes it seem like i have been going faster than i actually have been! vid coming!

I put a LOT of time into left strafe, does nothing, in fact, it's actually slower regardless of no strafe change.

People can get out of the lift (me) faster in left strafe. Also, there's an awkward turn behind the AR33 guard on the first catwalk (where I changed strafe on my 1:03), that particular turn I don't believe is able to be turned in full strafe, so that's why strafe changing there is possible. Doing this all in one strafe isn't practical.
