Title: Times of Past
Post by: Troublesome Moral Code on January 10, 2006, 10:23:00 pm
I just discovered that there was a HUGE stir and controversy over Runway A - 0:23 (I mean like five pages worth, with some people writing paragraphs at a time), a time that even I had originally achieved using 1.1CC before I joined t-e.n. People got MAD and there was a huge fight over 1.1CCvs1.2.... Quite hilarious.

Archives A - 0:17 was deemed impossible at this time as well. While at the same time the WR for Depot was only 0:28 - Bringing up :26 without some kind of proof would have resulted in a firestorm unlike any you've ever seen.

I'd like to quote one Steve Zwartjes

Now to Wouter.
22 possible? lol get real! :)
If boosted by all 10 grenades
U cannot even throw 10 grenades in the air...by the time u get to plane door u have thrown 7 or so.
and with boosts every time u get there even earlier.
23 is sick enough I hope u were joking about 22 :)

I would have LOVED to have been there with the skills I have now. :)

I think it's even funnier how Sterling wouldn't give Wouter a damn chance! He called Frigate 00A 1:27 MAXED! :lol
Those must have been funny times. Then, in one of his Marshmallow's FAQ's he says how 1:02 at the time was maxed and that it would never get beaten.
I know there is a page on the elite page taht has the old world records though I can never find that page........

Jungle 00A at a time like that.... I wonder what kind of reaction it would get today? :0

There we go!
Come comes through in the clutch!:eek
He's got some good times. Will he be above Sterling? No. Me? Yes.  -wes

don't believe this guy, and if you have read the GE message board you already know my feelings towards it. however this guy MAY have some new strats up his sleeves that we don't know about. Some of his times though are pretty imposibble without turning down enemy accuracy and damage.

Mind you, if he used a gameshark, he could make suttle changes that the normal person couldn't see, just to get his times a few seconds ahead of the current WR.

I know this topic is old  but I couldn't help myself after reading this:

As for getting a heated-time of 1:06 (I believe it is physically
impossible to get anything less than that no matter how good you are;
Hell, getting 1:10 is hard enough!!) you'll need to strafe constantly
and make NO mistakes whatsoever, like getting caught by a door or
hitting a box when you exit the interrogation room. :lol :lol :lol

1:06? Was this like before the invention of speedstrafing?

Yeah it's hilarious to go through old topics :lol

Edit: Man, I just read Bryan's email, And this cought my attention:

one of them will open it up because he can't stand in the exact same spot that the other guard is!

I dunno if that's what actually happens but could explain why the 1-guard strat doesn't work...

that actually makes a lot of sense.  Like how if you pause before opening the door in B1 agent, the guard goes around you, and opens the door to get where he's going.  Like that I guess.

But then again a single guard has opened the glass, with others following, not in his way. :p
