Does anyone have a problem with using 1.2? Like is it unconfortable or hurt your fingers? Did find anyway to coop with it? If it does hurt your fingers what do you think could be done to correct that?
-
firt I need to know how you use it and do you know what different methods you can use?
can try different options, I use what I think is the most common way, pointerfinger for A & B, I bend over my pointer finger to reach AB buttons while still being able to have my thumb on the C buttons so I don't have to let go of strafe while opening doors
this took awhile to get used to, about like going for some really good WR, just had to keep going even though it first seemed impossible, have to take it in small steps and eventually it started feeling natural
-
I'm using 1.2 the same way as Ilari described. It looks totally weird to the average player who is only familiar with standard 1.1, and it hurt my fingers a bit when I started playing that way, but I got used to it after a while.
It is always fun when people see that way of holding the controller for their first time. "lol wtf?" is a common reaction.
-
1.2 is the devil
-
Yep^
-
1.2 should only be used for streets, statue, dam SA and runway SA.
Otherwise, agree^^^
-
meh, 2.1 is ownage
-
Make a webcam vid of yourself using 2.1 and maybe we'll consider agreeing.
-
Dam SA was where I thought it was starting to get hard to use 1.2 when practising first times, because of opening doors and stuff. I remember really struggling for 1:20, next time I PRd on it I did 1:19 pretty easily though but then it was hard again when I went for 1:18... not surprisingly though.
Hey someone make a 1.2 rivalry for those who suck with 1.2 and usually play 1.1
-
lol, someone should. I made a file using 1.2 (I'm too lazy to switch on the settings.
) and I finished the game 1.2ed. I have times like 16 minutes caverns 00 and 15 min bunker 2 00 and stuff. Funny.
-
I should try a 1.1 agent speedrun sometime for good laughs.
-
Has anyone ever tried using the C-bottons like you would for a FPS on a keyboard? (hope that makes sense) you could even cross your hands so your aiming with the right and moving the left. Then you've got your thumb or pinky for A and B, using R would be quite hard though.
-
We should def make a 1.2 noob rivalry for all the crappy 1.2 users like myself!
Now, who would organize this............
-
Swaff: You mean keyboard style, like Bryan uses?
-
ya keyboard style, isn't that what I said? With your middle finger on c-up.
-
Yeah Bryan plays like that. Though if i remember right that just complicates things when ducking and stuff.
-
^Truth. It's the worst on Frigate 00A when you have to shoot for the hostage taker in the engine room.... That's about the only time you need to duck.
Bryan, how do you do it? That's pretty much the only reason I have a sucky time on that level, it's hard for me to switch playing styles really fast (while I also primarily play keyboard-style).
-
try G5
-
Hence my times.
Oh well. Back to conventional style for that level.
-
I also play keyboard style, and I don't duck. Ever.
-
I had an idea for ducking with keyboard style. Have something that you can push the controller, specifically the R or L button into, like maybe your knee or arm rest or wall or whatever.
-
rofl, I bet THAT's what Bryan does.... I never thought of that. I always complain when my leg gets in the way when I'm playing or something.
-
There really isn't a clean way to crouch with my method. Luckily GE only has 1 spot that it has to be used. The perfect Frigate 00A strat wouldn't require to kill that hostage taker anyway.
Anyways, I can't really say exactly how I do it at this point without actually trying to do it, which I can't at this point with no controller in sight.
-
When I go for that hostage taker, I reach up with my pinky and ring fingers (right hand) and then use my index on the c-down button.
Very unconventional and uncomfortable but it gets the job done when done right. Which is rarely anyways.
Other than that Frigay is a breeze.
-
couldn't you try to shoot him from further back as your running up?
-
or not shoot him.
-
True.
You just rescue one other hostage (The one that never escapes of course). Or you could even get him standing up, but you run the risk of the entire room going to hell when guards behind you blow the engine room bomb.
-
Thats funny, because he can and will, just stuborn to be fast. We also don't go out of the way, to rescue him, but do go out of the way to rescue the 2nd slowest hostage.
