But I believe the majority of about 95% of the GE Elite say the time should stand. Maybe, let the time stand on the World Ranks, and not on the proven ranks.
If the cinema appears, it means all of the objectives completed. If all the objectives complete, then you should go with the time it displays. If it's because the cart skipped a checkpoint, well, we haven't cared about those checkpoints before, so why should we care about them now?

I think the glitch has to do with completeing 2 objectives at the last possible tenth of a second. There most likely completing at the same time too. Thats most likely why we never see this glitch on other levels.
I think ryan said he saw it on runway, jumping into the plane and with the battery blowing up very late, would be 2 objectives, that would explain it, and i too think i saw this before on runway sa.(prolly works on runway 00 aswell)
Perhaps we should try and duplicte this gltich on other levels. Completeing 2 things at once as we exit. If it does it on other levels, then the same glitch works on every level, more then likely.
Its really not the players fault that the game can't handle completeing 2 objectives(same time) and saveing the new best time, all at once.I do think its should count on the normal rankings, but wether or not wouter wants it on his proven rankings is his call/has decided on already.

When we first started playing this game you were really the rival for me (at that point)... first the n00b rivalry, then the one after that... we were very tied and both took the lead from time to time.
But man, how much skills you are showing now and BTW have done this whole year.. incredible! No way Ill ever be able to compete with you.
Anyway just wanted to say I appreciate the work you have put into the game and your skills! Keep it up, I for one can actually see you taking 3d place.

Also, if you die on cradle, but both objectives completed (the bond falling cutscene), the time gets recorded. Does it count as a PR on the ranks.

If there would be some way of getting an objective completed without doing it in the future then an additional Rankings/Level should be added on i.e. Frigate, then it would say "Frigate, Using objective glitch" underneath or something. Well, that's my personal take on it.
EDIT: Now that I think of it... That can't be done since not everyone would use the glitch and it would screw up the rankings... I guess we just have to use objective glitches as well. Lucky or not.

It took about an hour straight, and every time I missed the train shot or the guards didn't open the gates right away I aborted as soon as I hit the ground (after flying down the stairs) and almost always ended up with a time of 26, so I guess... I dunno, what's an hour's worth of that? =p I know it doesn't take all of two seconds to get from the bottom of the stairs and into the train, but Brandon says that not all of them could have been 26s had I completed them, I dunno.
I'm gonna go after Runway SA next, and then let's see... I've been failing WRs on Cradle A, so there's that. And Archives A.
Hopefully before the next update. =p

For Depot, I acknowledge that I haven't played the level (in agent) for a time now, and I think I could easily do 28 with a trainshot. But not 27 though, I'm not skilled enough.
I *may* be able to record me during one week during the Christmas holidays, so yeah, why not a time on Depot agent ?
(even if after all my new unproven PR, it sounds weird to do a Depot 28 vid, that would be nice if you could tell me what it is worth in reality *fears Alex's reaction*)

And with 36 on SA/00, 00 is way harder. Drones are more accurate, first guard is way gayer, and stuff. But come Xmas and VCR, I'll likely be going for at least 35/36/37. We'll see how 36 on 00 is though.
Yea, my 37 SA today I did almost a 180 turn to throw the nade at trev, and anticipated the last door being open losing a tad. Priming at the top of the ramp with a quick death thus door open (which can't be too hard) is pretty guaranteed 36, if not 35.

I just didn't have time to realize Dan got a new WR, that Alex had already tied Bunker 1 SA 0'23...
When I read the other day that there were only three BBWJ left, I just couldn't realize it, because in my mind, there always were something like ten or more. I really don't adapt myself to this new era, and I have stayed inconciously to Bryan best age (not that his era has now gone, but he has now less untied and less WRs), with anyone having untied except Bryan and Wouter, and anyone tieing something before both Bryan and Wouter get it (except for Bunker 1 SA if I'm correct).
I just can't come back (*hopes this expression exists*) from the fact that now there are only two BBWJ left. so congrats Dan, I think 2'11 is kinda good for a WR, even if 2'10 might come one day.
Alex, 0'23 is insane, so yeah very good job on this
When I discovered the elite (about one year ago), I thought everything was over, and just believed there wouldn't be any WR beaten or even tied, the game becoming too old and best players having already said what they had to say. I was totally wrong, and even if I hardly accept that Bryan and Wouter can be beaten on some stages, I'm glad to see there's so many activity nowadays. The trio (Illu, Alex, Cervone) has showned far more than what I could ever imagine so...

I understand what Wouter and you mean for the untied, and lowering the world overall is a great aim. But I still hope you'll play "for yourselves" in the future, and devote time for times you know you can achieve, but that recquire hours of playing.
Besides, I know really wonder which World Records can be beaten...Maybe Aztec 00? Caverns 1'23? Train 2'11? Facility 0'57? Surface 2 1'32? Cradle 37?
I just can't imagine going on the Wolrd Rankings and see Facility 00 0'56...

Frigate is probably a worse level for me now than Facility, I've been training facility enough that I could maybe do an untied on SA or 00A once I can fully concentrate on it again, for sure I'll go for 57s at least. And yeah 46 on Agent can probably happen, my run wasn't the best I've had but I had perfect exit timing, for sure 46 will need an really insane run though.

36 SA took me about 1 hour back then.
00 would never give me a break, all my runs would be opposite-of-straight given a grenade.
36 speed isn't hard, I guess congratulations on getting it to go your way so fast. Now it looks like SA/00 should be 35 anyways, with 34 on agent. agent shouldn't be much more than like .5 faster, I'll be waiting for 35 Michael

I got into some bad periods where I suddenly started feel that 58 speed was hard (got 58 x7 I think) backboosts, stucks, no sign of good Doak on good runs, 00A can really be a pain sometimes.I kind of started moving on to other levels already, then suddenly tried again and felt really fast, was probably getting burned out before just playing and playing without getting anywhere. Pretty smooth run besides a stuck after warping the last door on that railing, good Trev.
Was really a crappy level for me for some time but now it's my second ever 300 pointer, had streets before.
Someone like Alex might still be better than me on this level though, if you watch our runs then you see that I needed pretty smooth runs for those 57s. I really found 47 on Agent easier than those 57s, I had good doak on both 57s btw, like 60% chanse with the technique I use (maybe) Bryans way.

Okay, I tried to upload my Cradle vid to like three different places (turboupload, yousendit, rapidshare), and all of them never brought up the next page.
Like, I'd find the file, hit Submit (Or upload), the status bar would display in the bottom of the window (meaning the file is uploading or trying to upload - BUT I was still on the same page).... But then after that nothing happens.
I just finished waiting for an hour and half on another upload attempt.This sucks so much, I just want everyone to see it already. >X0

On streets, I guess I must have had very good endings. Those val leaves were crap. I had many 13.9s earlier. I've done 1:14 on agent with 3 boosts, so I guess it was all in my great strafing.
I'll probably be sending a tape out to someone in mid-january or so, when I get back to school.

Do everything normal untill black room is clear. Stand on open MF on the right side look down the hallway and fire at least 6 shots. Switch to pp7 and close the MF, run back and shoot at the close guard to get his attention, go to glass emptying your pp7 clip. Wait till MF closes, run to hide. The close guard should run to the glass and the blast room guard to should be following. Maybe this will make him open it.

About the Aztec strat, Your strat wont make any diffrence spider since you still have to wait for blast room guards to come which we normally do. To save any time at all we have to lure only 1 guard and that as soon as possible.
btw Ryan, If my strat doesn't work every time then you're doing something wrong.

I first thought of the AFD 2006, with Jon preparing it in advance, to say the least. Of course, it needed the help of a man called Michael Kirkness for real, but with times that just didn't match the reality.
I don't know why (actually I think I can find why...), this version didn't satisfied me as well.
I then tought of the greatest whoarding of all time, of a man that played GE a lot until today, and who lately discovered the elite. He found it funny to release his times one by one, making other people believe he was a newbie making wonderful progress...
Once again, this version of the facts didn't have my full approval: why would he have played so much if he didn't know the elite, and how would he have discovered all these strats? (cradle 00 for example). And if he knew the elite, why deprive himself of all these WR for so long?
Finally, I thought of Alex playing a big joke to everyone: a friend of him, Michael, had never heared of GE before this summer. When he saw that he began to get some World Records, Alex - and I don't know if it is the result of a bet lost or something else - just decided to "give" his new PR to this friend. The latter played the trick finely and all the vid stuff would be in reality Alex stuff, who definitely found it funnier to make times under his "new name".
But, in all this, it's not much to say that I'm not convinced - at all - in inventing stories to contend myself.
I finally decided to think that was "The Man with the Golden Hands", or maybe also "The Man who didn't care", because, I'm not the first to notice this: who here, can honestly overtape an Archives 16? Please, ask Alex if you don't know what this time means...
So if you're real MouserScribe, you must be the incarnation of some divinity of gaming, at least in your hands. Your progression is unbelievable (Doing a 1'51 after one day of training is...*no words left*), and even if I don't know exactly when you started to play, I dare to imagine you're one of the last here.

This is another strat that I think should work:
Do the same strat above but wait for blast room guard to come around the corner, or close to, so that he sees when you run to the glass and will run to the glass too. The idea is that the close guard will get to the glass faster than the blast room guard, much like you do with the normal strat but the closest guard is playing the roll of the second to closest guard, if that makes sense, cause the lead guard can open the glass before the others get there.

If he doesn't then you should make sure you do these things right:
1: You stand at the glass when alerting him.
2: You use PP7.
3: Mainframe is high enough when you shoot so he doesn't see you.
4: You immideadly leave glass when mainframe is fully closed or very near fully closed.
If you do all these things and it still doesn't work then i really don't know what's wrong.
About the strat, I see your point now even though we only speak about a second maybe. What i don't know though, Is exactly what role the second guard has in the opening process. There's nothing that says lag should make a diffrence, And i always thought more guards opens it more often becouse, There's more of them. Also, The exhaust room guards comes from a greater distance when they see you and therefor has a less exact "last-known-position".
But very well, I could try out your strat and see if i get any interresting results, though i doubt it.

However, you could come up with a strat where you alert the exhaust guys (thus the close guy too) with the AR33, close the mainframe on the guy, run to the glass, leave, and the one guy will run to the glass with the other 2 (or 1 I think only gets alerted) guys nearby for the opening. I don't feel like trying stuff now. I don't even know if what I'm saying is correct. Oh well.!

i had trouble with 53 too using the 53 strat, comparing vids you are ALOT closer to the building and ALOT farther past were peter throws, costing you ALOT of time.
thing is, peters throw is probly near impossible to complete in comparison to standard 53 throw, which is bad enough already
so all in all, s2 is stupid and 51 is a good time or something.

I don't think a grenade works the same way a mine does, so the current throw wouldn't work. The 53 style one would.

I would have got MAD if another :57 came up, which I thought that this run was.
But omfg I should have had this hours ago. I've worn out the control stick so that I can barely turn fast anymore... Barely any missions allow for slow turning. There's Jungle, but I hate Jungle.

I can get a caverns 103 in 2-3 hours
It took 1.5 hours to get two streets 156s
12 HOURS AND I STILL HAVE ARCHIVES 58s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But yea. I just did a 58 on tape. There is only 1 noticeable bump. Nothing that could screw you out of a 56 on NTSC. The problem with my runs, is that I can't open the doors and go through them smoothly. I break strafe and slow down and stuff. On your 56s Alex, you have the most insane door openings and crap I've seen on 56. I don't know how you do it.
I will make a vid of that 58 tomorrow. Too many people doing gay things in the gaming room now.

for sure one of my worst levels.- beginning I do well like 1/4 runs
- guard in the way on 3/5 runs on that second door
- Screw up after first double doors like 2/5 runs
- Guard back boosts be or something else when trying to open door to nat, screw up there 2/5 runs
- Double doors not open 4/5 runs, I don't stand a chanse of getting trough smoothly without them open
- Can't get trough smootly one of those last doors I screw up 2/5 runs
- Got depressed now, don't even want to write rest

And it's only better now because :56 is becoming commonplace. Not so much when only Bryan and a few others had it because nobody else had the skill at the time to pull it off. You'll notice that this will happen to other records as time passes.And good job Ryan!
Get it on 00A now to maximize the number of :56s before :55 appears. Which should be soon I think (Henrik!).And I opened all the doors myself too.
I think if you can do that then you can get :55 with all the doors open. However for me, for sure my :56s were very high decimals so I need a new controller before I can go in for that.

Maybe if you could get a grenade from a guard you could toss it at the box where you exit the room after getting the flight recorder. It blows up the one outside the room. With it gone you could maybe strafe without having to go around it.

I managed to sneek out 0:56s based on insane safe jumps (something I find myself very good at, jumpstarting in general), giving me some leeway in the general run. I did 56 1.2 standard style, movements are insane but I could do it.
I would say 1:56s are harder based on the fact that I have always had a problem with strictly strafing levels. I am probably the worst pure strafer in the top 10, notice that most of my points are on complicated levels. Bunker 1 00A, Silo 00A, Control 00A, Caverns 00A...all good examples.

Anywyas, my point is that, even after getting 56 on pretty much every run for a billion hours and i still don't have 55 so it sure must need a great run to get it(except for those crazy fails where you @#%$ up everything and it still says 55 on the end screen.

Caverns took me almost 7 hours in total (3h 15th September, 2 hours tonight and 2 hours today). I got 1:04 with 3 backboosts once and the rest of my 1:04 could all have been 1:03 with a good ending. Like 2 or 3 of my 1:04 had good endings (boosted through the drones), but those runs I probably screwed up somewhere in the beginning.
1:03 isn't really hard, just get some boosts. 1:02 should be done anytime soon, don't you think?

If you've seen Bryans Dam 00A 2:00 you know he got two pretty bad backboosts in the tunnel and he did it basically like his 2:01. So I run the first alarm area, I'm decent at surviving, not trying much lock on the strafe because consistency is important to get a run to survive with good speed.
