It took a little while to finally fail stuff under 1:14 with the new strat, but I managed to eek this out. I'm not happy with it by any means though. My best fail with the 6 saving hostage strat is 1:11.

When I see the speed at which you get these times (hmm, this sentence doesn't sound very English), when I see Ryan White saying "I got three Depot Agent 26 in ten minutes" (don't remember the exact numbers

) and all, I'm just thinking that I should maybe stop Goldeneye I'd just like to accomplish some times which are a real aim for me, and to lower some of my very bad times...

Im pretty sure i can do 58 if i really liked this level, too bad i don't, maybe someday.
Had enough sticks and missed warp, and slow pause on this run to see 57 even. Insaino ending for me.
Had 3 cool things happen recently on facility sa.
1: Threw my mine in the 3-guard hallway, only to have it vanish before i blew it up, turned around it was gone.
2: Aparently the very first guard you see can pull grenades, i found this out by shooting 1 single bullet as i was about to quit out, he then droped a nade and killed himself, without seeing me or even opening the door to get out.
3: I managed to trick that guard^ there, into runing into a stall door for 30+ secs. I was on the outside and so was he, all he had to do was turn around and see me. Gotta be the dumbest guard ever.
All those cool things are taped.

Yeah, this run was alright, actually. Same strat Wouter used in his speedrun (get safe key first + cam in that room, document, dossiers etc). Will go for lower if i have time.

1.1 CC KF7 pwnage for those who want to know. Used my super-guarantee ladder warp strat. Likely its already used but w/e.
The locks were good but not great. Had a 1:05 pauseout with 3 locks off and the other had 1 bullet. Only 11 1:05s though.

Today, after 20 minutes of playing where I hadn't got anything (restarting systematically each run), I decided to note the reaction of the first guard. Exactly 124 runs after, here is what it gave:
he rolled 20 times (16,13%)
he made a lateral step 7 times (5.65%)
he shot quickly in front of him 39 times (31.45%)
he shot slowly after aiming 19 times (15.32%)
he set a knee on the ground and shot 37 times (29.84%)
he took a grenade only twice, what makes 1.61%
Obviously, the real probabilities for each move are
30% for shooting quickly and setting a knee on the ground
15% for rolling and aiming
8% for doing a lateral step
2% for taking a nade
It's weird how I have the impression that I got more grenades when playing the level at the beginning...At least, I'm sure I had more when playing SA...
I wish I had another level to play...

Reasonable run. Trainshot half-worked...shutters came up, but then i f*cked up the entry into the train. Weird drone room, it stopped firing when i was in the room, lol. For some reason i seem to get A completing quite regularly now, so i might keep going on this and 00 until i get 46/55ish.

Beating my old 2'31 had to be done, even if I acknowledge that this time represented much for me, as it was my first French Record (untied). However, I didn't expect that low when beating it, but more something like 2'25-2'26. The run was pretty clean to me, and I got boosted just before the end (fortunately, I had enough life left to survive
).Oh, and should I mention Cradle Agent 0'53 ?

this is the first time I finish the run with a good trev, and I think I lost some time at the end, but this will do for now (I don't dare to say I'm pretty happy of this actually).
Besides, it has nothing to do here, but I thought of mixing Matt8000's signature with Durkmeister's previous one (now that's quite Wabs's actual sig). I won't put it as my sig, but just let have a look at it :

I get a crap run and hostages complete,
.Been getting more 26 and 27`s so hopefully it`ll be a matter of time before hostages get away.
More consistent with me bug throw, so it`s mainly trying to kill the 2 guys in the room pretty quick. They suck, any other time they go down with 1-2 shots. When i want a good run, bullets hit the hostages arms, the guns, everything but the gaurds

on Surface 2 you can just open the door to the coms tower and throw the mine directly on the ceiling you see just as you open the door, blow up and run to the exit, don't know your PR but 55 is possible this way

Thomas, you can do 41 without him takeing out the console, i've failed it before, trev dieing and i think i had a single zmg only, so i didn't get enough shots on the console. So lower with the double nade strat is most likely possible.
I've also failed 41 with slapper strat(no bullets fired), and trev dieing, but not the console, real close though.

Yeah...I really wanted to improve my Archives Agent 0'19. I finally did it, but it was far more tough than I expected. I got the time after more than 3 hours of playing (in several sessions), 3 runs of 0'18 failed and about 40 runs of 0'19...
I feel released, but I couldn't imagine this time would take so much time...When I see that some eliters here can achieve 0'17 easily, I feel admirative...
Now I'll be turning to SA and 00, with an aim of 1'01 (1'00 ?) while my current PRs are 1'02.

Beat my previous time by one second. There were a couple of runs where it was complete pwnage until I got to disarming the bomb in the engine room. Then things started going to hell, and fast.
And I friggin taped over some Perfect Dark. Times that were a complete bitch to get. I either need to use a new tape every single time one runs out (which is impossible cuz I only have one tape) or capture right away. But that means transporting my VCR from my room to the computer every time I do. What I need is two VCRs, then this wouldn't be a problem.
Gonna capture the new PRs, get some things together, then I'm jumping on AIM.

I only wanted 147, this came on the very next run after my 4th 149, i did take a break in bettewn though.
16.45 ending, lost 1 sec in 3rd train car, and 2 sec in 4th train car, then i think my ending was wr speed, from 4th on, was so fast i couldn't belive it, mowed the 2 guards down at end with quick head shots and got ourmov fast too. Turn around and couldn't believe i killed everyone going so fast, and nat wasn't hurt in the process.

I understand that for you who has 16, 17 IS cake, okay... But you'll have to admit some players are just better than some others, and that to judge something, we must be sure to know almost all the context. Obviously here, you base yourself on the point of view of the best skilled, and thus, your judgment is underrated. If 10 persons say that 17 is hard, and 40 that it's difficult (all of them having the time), what is objectively the difficulty of this time?

I had trouble getting both 17 and 54, but getting 17 was worst for me. Think I played 5 hours one day without getting it, and later just now and then, perhaps a few hours total, until I finally got it. Had a couple of 17 fails where it felt quite natural to curse, beware of that.

So yeah, it's up to each person to determine the difficulty. What i wanted to say though, is that usually after you've done a time once it gets alot easier to do it a second time. I remember playing alot in my earlier days for 18 but as soon as i got it first time it became much easier, And eventually i also got 17 without any bigger problems.

On the subject of Archives; the bottom line is that your times, no matter what the level, get better with practise. Archives is an intermediate skill level that no doubt requires extensive practise to get all the turning and shooting right. Especially at the end.
Like others have said, many hours and dedication will eventually pay off.

43.7x crap ending, had a 118 fail with a 42 ending,i suck at locks and stuff. I wouldn't be so bad at them if i didn't spend a good 2 secs trying to get back the perfect laser place, only to end up ducking or not be straight on.(sideways,etc)
At least, its not my 2nd worst level anymore, that now belongs to s1 agent.

Cradle 35 is like this easy. The record should be 34 for sure, and pretty much everyone should have 35 who tried for it.
Well thats only some noob's opinion, and yea. B2 SA is one of the levels with INSANE skill needed. Reacting to different situations in different ways and stuff. Cradle is just practice. Like the other cake records. Just need to play it over and over, and you'll get the record.

as for cradle, if 34 is possible, it has to be a ntsc thing. I could get 35 pal with the little stuck at the end, but there's not enough time to be saved on the end part, maybe NTSC Trevs can be somewhat faster in the before-end part.
why not get depot 25 and duel 2 while we're at it, since the current wrs are too easy for grabs.

This is the same thing with my Depot and Cradle records (ESPECIALLY Cradle - This explains the 19 hours). Some piece of information about what to do in the level and how to do it usually hits me as I make mistakes or do something wrong, and then I try that out on the next run. I like to call this learning. Not to mention holding the controller keyboard-style (as YE put it) and using 1.2 SOMETIMES helps, if I don't slip off the buttons.And Bryan, you're right about Control. I did an attempt with cheats on (mostly some gun cheats and infinite ammo, cuz invincibility would be cheating.
), and still tied my PR of 4:31 (Agent). I was amazed at that not only because I tied it right on somehow, but that that run was BAD. Not horrible bad, but bad. A bunch of stucks, guards that wouldn't die when I left Nat and one missed mine throw (far PC in the room). Not to mention I almost died going through the glass. Like I said, hours of practise. Not on the record here but I think I got a bit of Wouter's determination on me. So stop cumming on my face, Wouter.

1) I didn't say 34 shouldn't happen.
2) Nobody thought of a boost after killing Trev because it's way beyond what anyone could think of.
3) Why not try the boost yourself and see if you can get it in time before it's practically effectless.
4) As if killing Trev on a great run isn't random enough.
5) If I were complaining, you would have got me (which you didn't, and I wasn't complaining, thus).

Second, off just a comment about control sa not being maxed out. Yesterday i was watching bryan's control vid and I saw he used an entire clip when he shot the last drone gun. He also had a couple stucks....

Btw, I also tried Depot agent a little... I don't manage to do the train shot often, but when finishing the runs where I missed the train shot, I usually get 0'31, and sometimes 0'30. I didn't try to finish the level without the train shot, but obviously, the most probable is that I should do 0'30... I was also unlucky because the four times I got the TS and objective A completed, the guard began to open the metallic thing (I don't know how to name it...door? curtain?) just as I came to it

Depot 00 - 1:17. First time without auto aim on this difficulty and the first time I've had the weapons cache(or whatever the hell it is) blow up just shooting the bottom left box as you enter.
Runway sa - 0:26. Never been any good at this level just using grenades so the word "fluke" springs instantly to mind.

Well i got my goal, but i can see so much better from me, if this level wasn't the 2nd most gayest 00 level. Only a 6.08 ending, i timed the end badly i guess, even though nat complete at 20.2 or something.

with all other levels (except train and control) you can actually get somewhere, if you screw up you can recover. Those 3 are the gay of the gay. Plus, living on all 3 is gay too.
aztec, caverns and jungle have gay living, but there are strats you can use if you don't want WRs and stuff. So

Some commentaries about these times: I'm finally glad with this time on Runway 00 and I won't even try for lower. This is a new French Record (I know you all think "If I were French, I'd have a couple of untied" but nah, if you were French, your times would be worse
) and this should give France the point necessary to equalize Brazil in the country rankings This time is also my only taped new time, but I don't think any other of these new times is worth to be taped in any case.As for Surface 1, I'm not really happy with these times and I should try for lower in the future (don't know when yet).
For Cradle, my 42 run was terrible and I should be able to do something like 39 on a (very?) good run but I really don't manage to do this strat. This was my second completion after a failed 0'40...The good point is that I thought I would never manage to do this strat once, and I was wrong.
Besides, I don't remember what is the record with shooting Trev at the bottom of the level. I do 48 on my best runs...what can I hope with this and with the WR strat?
To conclude, Goose, it's really good to see that I'm still in front of you in the time ranking, even if it's just a matter of days now...

I just didn't post the improvements because 1, I knew I could do better each time and you could SEE it and 2, I didn't want to be editing an entire post every time and making people read it.

After all my Statue 00 2'29 failed, the first run completed had to be 2'30...Anyway, now my times on Statue are:
Statue: 2'31/2'32/2'30

I touched the game for like 30 minutes after 8 months not touching that controller.
Thomas sent me 2 fresh joysticks a year ago or so and I promised him to pass Greg Lavery. And finally, I did it. The on PR I needed came.
My worst time of all finally improved after perhaps 2 years.

First sub-1:00 time for this level ever. EVER. Never even failed sub-1:00 before this.
Had an okay first room, and didn't fire a bullet until it was time to leave. No strafing on the safe, you can see where I'm losing the three seconds. Archives SA - 0:59

I don't remember there being any random luck factors on S1 really, just wait a bit on the cinema in the beginning and he should always be on the right spot. Assuming you're talking about the guard from who you get the KF7.

FINALLY!
For whatever reason I felt it this run. When I hopped in the boat I was like "cmon" and I see the cinema. To top it off its 107 which is decent enough. Also this causes Jimmyboy to lose 1 pt, and Alex none, puting Alex in tie for 5th I believe.WHOOPEE
