Hi, i'm new to the forums, but not new to the game itself. I started trying Speed runs ever cince i saw this we site, and the one I MOST tried was Silo Agent....

My ALL TIME BEST time was 1:33, all happy, (i had forgotten the time here) i came thinking "Here is 1 time i did great"

I come and see a "1:05" i ask my self, "WHAT THE HELL"...

My run was impecable, really good, only took shots from behind (helping me go faster)

And i started to wonder, may be, when u shoot, or take shots, the game FPS gets slower, but the time does not, and you loose time, started to wonder million things...

I want some help (if help is possible, may be is just "try, and try, and try again"...

Well any ways, thanks for those who helped me...!!

just keep trying what you saw in the video.  silo is kind of a gay level to start off on, with all the doors that need to be open and such, so maybe even try something real straightforward like streets agent instead.

Welcome Casaroli, you can't imagine the amount of people that comes here saying the exact same thing as you did when you saw our WR. Like Woll said, the more you'll play the more you'll realise that 1:33 isn't that "impecable" and you'll soon be able to get in the 1:20s, then if you're pretty damn good in the 1:10s, some people can get sub 1:10 (bunch of them actually) but they're just weird ;)

Yeah, I had the same reaction when I first came here. Even when Goldeneye speed running became organized sometime in early 2000, everyone is the Goldeneye world just didn't believe any of the times Wouter was submitting. People such as marshmellow, Jon, Karl, and many others were in utter disbelief. Then the bar was set even higher when Bryan came along and owned all.

Anyway, about speed runs, you will keep getting better and better the more you play so just keep at it. So far I have really surprised myself about some of the times I got.

Marsh is David Gibbons who did absolutely nothing on the GE side until 2003-2004ish. He simply did the caverns sub 2mins. And... some Aztec 00a I think. That's about it.

Hmm, skill comes with time in this game I think, I have been playing for like hm 6 years now and I still suck :rollin , but oh well :)  key on silo is to just keep running.

Any ways..

I tryed another speed run, DAM agent, i got a 1:00 time, fond it was good even with a 7 sec diff, from best...

Secret: 1:36, an 18 sec diff still good...

00 agent, CANT FINISH, i die in the time i'm returning from the computer room, with a time count in rounding the 2:22...Still having to break 2 alarms...
Come out to check ppls time:OMG OMG OMG OMG: 2:00
INSANE!!!!

that time i said to myself: "cant compare yourself to the worlds best"

The thing about Silo is that you have to learn how to get all doors opened. If you do a smooth run with all doors opened you can easily see your time drop 10-15 seconds.

For 00 Agent levels like Dam it's all about experience and luck. It takes long time for everyone to survive that level without stopping the first time but the more you play the easier it gets. Still, 2:00 is a really tough time. Even getting below 2:10 is a really good achievment.

Dam 00A drops slowly with experience as Henrik said. I remember having 2:20 and then in 2 weeks it gradually dropped to 2:10. I cant seem to lower it at the moment, but ive failed 2:08 before (alarm) >:  well, welcome to the-elite, hope you enjoi :D

cant expect to be any good just when you start off, takes lots of practise

The people that have good times for this game have put 1000-2000 hours into getting them, maybe even more. Until you start approaching that, I wouldn't worry if your times aren't that good to begin with. Just try and watch as many videos as you can... not necessarily WR videos, but maybe like a Dam 00 2:12 vid. That might help you out more than a 2:00 vid.

Yeah i joined ge players page about 4 years ago, and I play off and on and it takes a lot practice and luck. But you should shave off plenty of time for agent setting if you work at it constantly. :)  I still think I can break the 22 minute total for agent but it'll be some time probably because Im mentally lazy :p

About the silo doors, i ALWAYS have all dors opened, the prob is that when i shoot, i dont always use C strafing...

Gets me slower...
