I had a sub-1.40 going nicely, but hoping that the drone tunnels are clear is optimistic to say the least. They are ALWAYS full of like 3 or 4 guys so you cant strafe through there. Sure, theres the option of pausing at the fence, but you always get lasered there.
What is the percentage chance of clear tunnels here? What a fhucking ghey level, mehmehmeh....

Once the black room is clear, i kill the guard by the mainframe, then shoot 6 bullets into the guy round that next corner, bafore returning to the mainframe. When two guys (from the exhaust bay) come round the corner, i back up onto the glass....etc.....if and when the glass opens, i "do the stuff", and then run to the exhaust bay, take out a comp, and pause for the tape.....and then i get drone-raped because there are guys in the tunnel. Of course, in real life, bond could have a gun in one hand, and the tape in the other....but oh no, not with this game
If i fire 3 shots at the corner guy, exhaust guys dont come. 6 is needed imo. But maybe the noise attracts guys from the main room...meh. Hard @#%$.

I can't be bothered to read your posts, but I will explain the method of empty vents...
Once you are on top of the open mainframe, shoot exactly 6 bullets at the guy to the left making sure you kill him. This will attract the 2 exhaust room guards. Walk forward and attract the 3rd guy by simply letting him see you (Wouter does this on almost all of his vids). You will have 3 guys to open the glass door, and clear vents.
BTW, stop making new topics, damn.

u shooting the guard which you should lure with no shooting and letting him see you is causing enough noise for drone room guards to run into the vent

Wouter does not use this strat in most of his vids, In fact i dunno if he does at all.
Anyways, The thing about the vents is that guards can hear you if you shoot with AR33 within a certain distance from the large room. This means that when you're about halfway through corridor right after mainframe they are within hearing range.
So you don't have to lure the guard behind the corner, It's just to increase chances of opening the glass door.
And for the exhaust guys, 6 shots doesn't always work. Usually for 1 guard but several times the second one doesn't hear it. So to be sure you should perhaps shoot like 9 shots. And be sure to stand as close to the wall as possible for closest distance.
Oh and another thing, If you use more than 3 bullets into the exhaust room mainframe then you're probably screwed. Even 3 bullets makes them hear you so they are usually just outside the vents as you arrive there.

What i do is hold r button as i fire those 3 bullets, it seems to get me thru that area better without guards in the area, compared to not holding the r button.

I haven't used it at all. You have to kill the comp in exhaust bay with 1 burst, if you're upto it. otherwise it's like you might as well go to some slut.

Sometimes that computer doesnt give a flame. If you could work out how to do this consnstenty, you could just take it out and pass through on the fly, and then pause by the room entrance. Dunno what makes it flame-free tho.

who cares.. you're the only one having problems with guards being in your way so figure out how to solve the flame thing yourself if you want to rely on another strat instead.

Or, you could totally reverse it into multiple equations, which is much more logical and easy to read:
Matt = t3h gayness
Karl = t3h gayness
The rest of Australia is unknown, as the Elite has never met them.

I was just refering to that you seemed to want to use the later pause Harv(i.e old strat, Jaws is old old strat). That's why i find it strange cause you can only loose time that way.

The later pause means you can have a gun to clean the vents if need be. And if the computer doesnt flame up, and hence lets you straight through, then the times of both methods are the same....
but yeah, easier to get a clear vent than an inert console death

Aztec Agent is hell, I just played some and it's really hard to stand that @#%$ for more than 30min with the running strat. It gives me a headache just to think how long you have to stand getting hit randomly before you even have a chanse at 1:35.
In the topic "Strength of the world records" Dan said something about 1:33 happening and Bryan was saying that the best glass door method is not used to it's full potential yet. WTF was that all about? I still don't get it, you mean getting the launch protocol data first so you leave in left strafe? Or going to the glass faster? Wouter did that already.
Yeah Brandon is not in top 10 and he got 1:36, that doesn't make 1:33 possible, Brandon just happens to own at this level. I say 1:34 might happen but I'm doubtful, would Dan go for it, nope I think he's happy with his 1:37, don't try the running strat you'll regret it!
I'm gonna go try it now anyway @#%$ have to try proving myself wrong or something

1: Yep Running strat is a hell.
2: What Bryan means by glass door not fully used yet is pretty complex. If you don't let the guards see you, You can save some secs but also, If they do open the glass door(very small chance they even get there) they usually opens it instantly. All in all this saves quite alot but the chances of it working on a clean running strat run is insanely small.
3: Wouter had a good run on his 1:35 but he did obviously loose like 2 secs in total. So 1:33 is possible theoreticly, And im sure someone will do that someday. More insane things has been done.
4: I did get 1:38 with like 3 secs lost on the luring part so that would probably been a 1:35 without it.
5: There ARE alternate strats instead of the running strat. You can like go forward kill both left guards then do like normal. Might be like a sec slower than running though a sec faster than clearing first room.

I thought Wouter's run sucked. Cant remember how much time was lost, though. I guess 2 is about right.
Lets return to the issue of a multi-talented and generally trusted gamer called "SZ", who got 1.31 (surposedly). I was keen for the time to stay up back then, and was dissapointed in those that doubted him - but what do you reckon?
Greneby got to keep his untied, untaped 2.02 Cavs a while back - in fact it almost got overlooked, so that clearly violates the proof policy just as much (though it was a more believable time).
You could make INSANE noise levels while cleaning the black room, and lure the guys that way, without even going past the m/f yourself. But perhaps that wouldnt work...lol.

About making noise in the black room, I'll explain how the noise levels work:
The loudest gun in this level is obviously Ar33(Though i have no idea about Laser). However, There is a certain limit of where this guy can hear the Ar33 no matter how much noise you make. And this limit is just within half a meter from the mainframe IF you stand close to the right wall.
The second limit which is for the Vent guards, Is just about halfway through the corridor after the mainframe.
I hope this makes sense.

Thanks, i also happen to like this level, i don't think many people do.
I did 136 and 137(only completes) with the runing strat(wouters), also 137 with peters strat, which dan used too. I do think dan and bryan would go for it someday. Hell i even think i could do 135/134. But as you say the runing strat is quite a bitch to complete. Just stick with peters till you get a nice 137, 136 could be done too with it. I would also like to say i did a 140 with mainframe closed.
