Good trev (check new topic). This is much harder on 00 then SA. The main reason is that you have only 10 bullets to attract the guard to open the area where objective a completes. This costs probably close to a second and screwed me of many a 58 and 57. Also factor in that Doak is an arsehole and you have 10 hours of frustration...

I love that boost that saved my run.

That's fucked up or what????
Awesomness door warp, maybe lack of boosts, gave me great warping skills.

Can get lower, but I think it's good for now. Maybe I'll play it now and then and see if I get lucky.
Had a 4:09 and a 4:05 fail. Just ran straight into the elevator on the 4:05 hoping obj A would complete after I got in, but it obviously didn't and I guess it's not even a legit fail.

Hello elite, glad to be back, by now you all know the story of the name/identity sh*t.
Anyway, I quitted playing a long time ago, last update of my times page was 28 august 2004, because I'm 1.1 and well my analog stick was @#%$.
Then Thomas talked to me a while ago saying he had some fresh analog sticks and then he sent me 2 analog sticks all the way from California, and I installed one of them some days ago.

Thomas told me to pass Greg Lavery fast, but I'm a little busy right now... got my midterms.... but those will be over this wednesday. Then I can start to play just a little longer than 20 minutes a day ^_^.
Anyway, just wanted to feel how a fresh analog stick felt like again and started playing random these days.
Got 2 PR's while doing this and 1 I'm really proud of.

Last night, the most terrible thing ever (in my GE carreer)happened. I had a s1 00a run, better than all my SA's, even my 152, better in strafing, doing the objectives etc. etc.
I even had a 7:0 boost ratio!!!
My SA 152 had a 4:1 ratio.
Everything was perfect, including the ending shot and warp.
I was most certain of 152 (having all kind of bullshitty 153's before that) and I was hoping perhaps 151. What pops up?
Time: 1.54....
Replayed the run on my VCR... it was sooo perfect, I really have no idea how the timer came up with this. That run really ownd the 152 I got now.
So..................... hey how are you doing?
Anyway, I didnt even know there was a back-hut strat and a front-hut strat... did SA front.. and run of last night was front.
Then Brandon said to me this afternoon to use the back-strat... and after 90 minutes or so, a good run finally came, ending up in 1.52.
Im really sorry for what Im about to tell, but because the 90 minutes playing (nonstop).. I was forgetting my VCR and therefor taped over my SA 152.... which I really wanted to capture for you guys (and myself).
Anyway, getting 152 SA again wont be that kind of problem, especially not with the back-hut strat.
Perhaps in a long time,... I will go for 151, a 152 will most certainly pop up now and then. So, not to worry.
I will not tape over my 00A 152 I swear it... so ......don't think I'm lying
Perhaps Ill go for Leaderbord and get Agent 104.... but that's a gay stage... so dunno what will come next.

the "back-hut strat" is slower.

I use the back hut strat as it doesn't attract the two guards at the front of the hut, which LOVE to give backboosts. Yes, it is slower, but if you're not going for a WR, use it.

00A is gay... unless you're not feeling up to 24/7 playing/trying, use back hut strat
SA is easier, front hut strat can be used there.
Anyway, I actually had faster runs with backhut strat.
With front hut strat, I went to the large key klobb dude room, got GL and ran outside... if I didnt get GL I quitted. Timer showing 37/38.. 37 if it was a nice flawless run.
Doing this on back hut strat, I always had a 37 timer.
I think Im not really strafing wrong at fronthutstrat, so... dunno backhut suits me.
ofcourse I'm wrong... but hey! Im gay

Got with 3 bullets, and took 1 back and a sideboost from that @#%$.

I tried some Aztec 00 and Egyptian 00, still with pp7 only, got pwned on aztec ... and pwned on egyptian...
Well both are really hard to an average GE player as I am, you can't kill Jaws or Samedi with hands so that means you need lot of ammo. In egyptian, it's not a problem because the guards have zmg ammos which work for pp7 too, but Samedi becomes harder to kill. Samedi 2 needs something like 30 head shots and Samedi 3 still more, he's the one who killed me...
I'd like to see which times people like you wouter or illu would get on those levels.

Alex's strat he completed a 110 with, i love this strat, i did 116 and 112 with it, plus this.
Best fail was 106, and its easy and fun.
This took about 3-4 hours of trying with his strat.
Didn't wait at the end either, and "a" was up for about a half-sec.
I r teh fluker of frigate strats.

we've also done Egyptian without using the Golden Gun, we'd use the ZMG instead. I got 1:26 on 00 Agent that way.

Did anyone beat Aztec 00 with slappers only ? That would be really crazy. This is the last level I have to beat with pp7 only and I failed until now. If some decent player wants to try this and could make a vid of it... well I'd be glad to watch this.

I've done aztec agent with slappers, and it wasn't too hard with the right strat, but i doubt i could live aztec sa, in fact there is a bunch of levels where sa is almost impossible, or insainly hard. My vid is online if you have aim, or get from wouter.

Let's see.... guard got stuck in the mainframe (lost 5 sec or so), fucked up picking the obj A tape (2 sec), glass takes forever to break in end room (2-3) sec. Definitely not satisfied with this, though it puts me under 1:19:00.

lolol, just improved my worst standing time ever!
I played Frigate SA these 2 couple of days and got all sub 1.14 fails.... even had 3 108's and a 109 so far.... most times 110 or 111.
Anyway,... not one @#%$ completion in many hours...so just now (02.30 here in Holland) I tried Agent.. me being CC 1.1 makes this run kinda awkward for me, and therefor never tried it. But I knew now how I should do it all and got a completion within 15/20 minutes of fun playing.

It's actually faster to not use the tank. A strat that used nades on all the drones and battery could get around 36, maybe better. The problem is that the drones/people hit you and make you throw the nades at the wrong times.
Someone will complete it though, eventually. Bryan used nade strat on his 0:21 on turbo.

I just made 1:44 Dam SA, after two tries. First one was 1:47. On te second try i got only one boost, but it was good enough to shave off 3 secs. I will try harder to get lower. Nice time you got there alex, good job. Just scored a 1:24 Streets A, I got some nice boosts along the way.

Just scored a 0:29 Runway SA. Used some grenades to help boost me to the missile battery and used grenades to complete the level. My last Runway SA was 32 secs.

All the 3 hardest levels in the game(Excluding silo though) on average completions within 3 hours? That's pretty nice.

Dam 00 is up there too, in terms of being hard to survive. It's harder than train imo (just need a good first 2 cars on train, rest is pretty easy), about equal with silo.

In my experience, Silo is the second hardest level in the game, Hardest being Control. The second spot might be tied with Aztec if using wr strat.
And Train is harder than Dam(more random, requires more skill etc)

I dunno, Henrik. Dam gets harder and harder to survive the faster you go, since in order to go fastest you'll be spending less time saving health by injuring/dodging guards. Train seems to get easier to survive as you go faster, since you play the level the same way whether you're going for 220 or 210 (just run through with the laser, barreling through anybody in your way) - that just leaves the guards less time to hit you the faster you go.
So if someone sat down and just played casually on Train and Dam (targeting like 220 and 210, respectively), they'd have a harder time on train. But if they were playing aggressively, going for, say, an untied (210 and 159), then Dam is probably harder to survive...
Edit: and it's too bad we all suck at GE, because Control actually should be relatively easy to survive with the current strat (I mean, if we were good enough, we would never lose health during the protection, ever).
Even so I find Caverns and Aztec harder by a lot. Jungle's hard too, don't know exactly where it falls since I have never played it aggressively (WR strat).

Jungle you easily get raped. Try Xenia. Try any guard. Try the ending. Try several drones.
Caverns also takes a good while to live with WR strat.
Control is no biggie at all.

1.1 CC to the bug throw, 1.1 to the boat, hostages both escaped in the last second... crappy run.
From 29 to 26 i a small week time... worst time, to decent.
Well, I wont be an Alex about this and say I failed all 22's and 23's and then I get a completion and it's a lame 26.
No, all my fails were like 90% 26 and 10% 25...
So still that makes a good 90 25 fails.....
but Frigate is just gay.. we all know that.
Getting sub 27 completion took me like 10 hours.. so like yeah, f*ck it!
Ofcourse I wanted a 25 here, but 26 will do (for now).
Wanted a sub 27 completion before Id go on to my 2nd most sucky time (Frigate 00A; 1.2
Finishing the guard at the bottom deck (before obj. c) is a bitch for me with 1.1 CC.... Ill find a way... improving 128 will be cake, but getting a good time here, will be hard.

Aztec was the most hellish level to play using the strats I used. SA moreso than 00 because on 00 I got lucky faster.

Cavs 00 was kind of easy when i played it. Silo was definately harder(Perhaps i just suck at silo and pwn cavs?)
The reason i put Control as #1 is becouse that's the only level so far that i have played on 00A without success. I mean, Most of the time im dead before the protection.

Jungle end and Aztec end are equally random if you survive, I'd think. Top 5 hardest 00As to survive are...
1. Silo 00A
2. Caverns 00A
3. Jungle 00A
4. Train 00A
5. Bunker 2 00A (yes, I rank this harder than Control)
Mainly because I can protect Nat very well and keep up with guards. And if I HAVE to, I can get armor.

Funny how poeple put Train as such a difficult level. Sure it can be very annoying but it's really only a time question before you complete it.
And i suppose Silo gets easier the more you play, Like SA was like "impossible" to me when i first tried it but now it's like "huh, I got a hit?".

Depends on what you mean with "a matter of time". When i spoke Train i meant within an hour or so. When speaking Caverns/Aztec it's for me usually a matter of days.

Played the game a bit back in the days, although I never got around buying it myself. Used to borrow it from friends, but I played it enough to unlock 007 mode a few times (which I was proud of back then
)
Anyway, I dug out my old N64 console and bought the game in late January this year, after discovering The-Elite which inspired me to start playing again. So, been going for times for around 5-6 months now.

I worked hard on streets A and just made 1:21. What is the strafing method used to get 1:13-1:14?. I use wouter's method of cruise control, i strafe around buildings hoping for some boosts along the way.Oh well it'll take some time. I also made a 0:26 Archives A.

After watching wouter's caverns A vid i made an okay 1:28 Caverns A. Not that bad, im still working on getting lower. Anyone know how to complete objective 1 in Surface 2 A?. I use the back of the comms tower to blow up the communications link and i end up with a time of 1:01. If anyone can tell me how to do it from the side of the tower please tell, thanks.

Damnit, both Cervone and Trent each have Silo times JUST beating mine, meaning I'd have to spent countless hours on one of the hardest levels to survive for a 2 second improvement that will only get me like 2 points, you guys can seriously kiss my ass. (However, my 1:36 is still on webcam, I could use a nice new vid for Silo 00...)

You using cruise on applicable levels, Metroid? You'll never reach top times on certain levels unless you do (1.1, 1.2 doesn't have this problem).

Not to be harsh, but considering the quality of your times, you should definetly take the time to learn 1.2. It'll be alot easier in the future, not to mention that maybe it'll help you improve faster. Maybe your control stick being worn out could explain the trouble you're having getting decent times. I mean, even on crap runs and with silly strafing mistakes you can get much better than say 1:28 Caverns A. I hope this'll change your mind.

Everyone should learn 1.2. It's a simpler, more efficient control style that facilitates better times on many levels.

Caverns 00 4:51. Used the strat Wouter did in his 00 race. This run was better than I thought it was. I thought it would be 5:06 or so because I had the same speed as my previous run, which failed due to the master control console not blowing up.

Durkmeister, In order to get a lower time you need to know how Silo works(Takes a bit to master). Watch vids to see exactly when to shoot and how much. This in order to make all doors open as you arrive. Like in second room where you should use the pp7 if you're PAL(Kf7 can be used but is risky, Less risk to screw it on ntsc). Learning how all doors works takes a while but when you've learned it then times in the 1:10-1:13 range shouldn't be much of a difficulty.
Also one way to make things easier is to start with the harder difficulties. Like if you play SA then Agent will seem incredibly easy.

Just play 00, it's the easiest to get a good time on, and the doors most often go in your favor.

I don't know how long time you spent on your current Silo PRs, but I can see why you are having trouble improving if you give up on a level like Silo after 45 minutes. I don't count hours when I play, but I can tell you for sure that I've often found myself sitting several hours playing the same level without improving the least bit.
Patiency is definately the key when going for times, especially on levels that require varying amounts of luck to complete, such as Depot.
It's not like I'm trying to teach you anything here, I'm just saying that none of my somewhat decent PRs were suddenly gotten within a single hour of play.

Well, Silo SA i have spent no time on at all in comparison to Silo A so i'm actually reasonably pleased with 138. I've spent a lot of time on silo A....
Question: What strat do people recommend for getting a time in the range of 200-245 for silo 00? I have 312 at the minute using the 'kill everything that moves' strat.

Perhaps the 'don't kill everything that moves' strat will help you there.

Just do the way you did on 312 but go faster and ignore more guards and get the BA before the ending. The level can be a bit complicated to learn so you'll need to invest some time into it probably even if going for 200-245 if you've never gone that low before you should give it at least 5h.

just do my 00 run strat for silo and it gets you around 220-240, and you can run the first 2 rooms to go even lower, which I will be doing whenever I do a 00 run again.

Well when I joined several years ago only a few ppl had even pulled it off, so the expectation/motivation to attempt it was low. As more and more people did it, the points became more lucrative... eventually it became effectively required to complete. After the initial rush, people were just happy to get 140's...this was like 2 years ago. Now people are only happy with 130s, and will play long enough to get them. In this sense, people have grown more tolerant of Surface 2, or perhaps more "patient".
I'm sure you were dissecting the use of the word in the sense that a person's patience is an unchanging characteristic, or something as semantically trivial.

the skill is just better now, as Dan said he got his 1:32 on a practice run, so he wasn't really waiting out grenades. he hasn't even completed a run he's happy with so far. I haven't seen anyone play s2 for a really long time as of yet. the record should be in the 120s actually. usually I go for luck levels, but this one not as much since it's not a big challenge to go for.

The "cinema strat" is waiting out the cinema so theres like a 50% chance or something of a respawn guard spawning and opening the roller door for you if you miss the train shot.
i guess its ok if you can't ever hit the trainshot, but most people get it very often so don't bother watching the cinemas (besides the train door will still be closed)

yeah I remember having a guard open the roller door sometimes when the run was pretty slow and when missing the trainshot as well. can't remember not skipping cinemas though, perhaps skipping it kinda late when it wouldn't react to an early button press or something.

I'm guessing the trainshot attempt is still required to get this random guard to open the door... but still a nice trade-off. I hope 50% wasn't *too* great an exaggeration, because Depot is a level I've looked at for PR'ing.

No, the train shot isn't needed, if you did hit the train shot and waited the cinemas, all 3 guards could be comeing for you at the end.

Some details about the run...
The actual run was WR speed, having the same entrance time to Ouro as Bryan (7:04
x). Of course, my nerves took over and I blew the ending hardcore, but I'm still content with 1:34. The fact that I had no hits isn't quite so insane, but the only part where I SHOULD have gotten hit is before 2nd room, I had 2 guards aim at me point blank as I ran by and still missed! (From experience, those 2 guards are the most accurate in the game I'm sure, kinda like those crate guards on Control). I had a scientist after me as well, hehe.

I too found the aztec guards to be really accurate, they brought me to critical health before i reached the top room.

The reason Control guards SEEMS to be accurate is cause they are so close to you. On Aztec(And Cradle) guards can be like a mile away and still pwn your head every time. Those guards just never miss.

Crate guards on Control have a better aim I guess. One single guard can hit you on Agent like 3 times in a row when you try to strafe by him. That doesn't happen on Aztec.
Anyway, I just failed a 4:04 Control A where I waited like 2s by the very last door and entered without seeing Obj A complete, hoping to get it by the fading out ;x Also died on the last door warp TWICE (lol), on 4:07/4:08 runs. Talk about gayness.

2:22 Statue 00 agent
I hadn't really tried to learn the Trev shot until tonight. I got surprisingly good at it (I think). I logged my successful shots versus errant ones during this play session:
25 hits on 46 attempts. I got 2 FRs, the first being on a run where I left Trev too soon. The second was the 2:22, which capped a streak of 7 consecutive successful Trev shots--no asterisk! I'm just excited the the strat is bearable after all (until I try to get faster). The whole thing was only 3 hours tonight, and I know that these days that's fast for PR'ing. 23 pts, too.
In conclusion, I am happy

*awaits Statue 219s* 222 is very good for the first time completing the Trev shot strat. What are the details on the run (return, Val strafing, recovery speed etc)? I assume you used 1.1.

1.1 with a good controller--on par with high 2:26 speed. Val was average. Got a limb shot on Trev. I made a good exit and got back in a modest 34.2 I think. I was not shot the entire run, odd for 00. I was actually a little slow on the FR--I caught sight of it just barely as I picked it up. All time lost on the WR came at the trev shot, where I've been doing a conservative strat.
I have some questions/comments:
1 - How much time does Trev vary his reaction time by? Does limb vs body shot correlate here? I noticed that "B: completed" seemed to appear at different times... is there a direct correspondence here with Trev's reaction time? I'm guessing that the way it's programmed, the end of the speech (marked by obj b complete) and the display of the text are not in synch. That is, the meeting starts when the bullet hits, but the text starts when Trev "settles".
2 - I've registered a body hit without a reaction before. Ideas?
3 - Murdering Nat without penalty is one of life's simple joys.
I'm working on agent next, to get it over with. 2:20 and better is not being pursued for now, but at some point I'll see how fast I can fail.

Heh, if you want my advice though, I say (and with strict adherence to the above points) fuck agent and go for 220s on SA/00. The Trev shot (with best recovery) saves a little under 6 seconds, but you should be able to make up for that with new strafing tricks and opening the last door earlier. Will be cool to see DC back on the Statue records table, even if it's not the DC I wanted it to be when I tried lots for 220s a while ago.

I seemed to have worse luck with landing shots on Trev in general, and when I did, I either pissed off the guards inexplicably, drew no reaction inexplicably, or killed him.. explicably. I only got 2 successful trev shots in about an hour. I thought aiming a bit low for leg shots would work, but this seemed to provoke the guards if I landed it. I also tried the KF7 strat and abandoned it for the same reason. Bryan... your thoughts regarding correlations between any of this stuff?
Oh, and I rewatched my 2:25 (fail) today and realized how good it really was. I remember you (Dan) being surprised I assumed the video was unknown. I see better now why it's still appreciated; I have a hard time matching its speed. Interesting footnote on that video, my random shots into the ground after saving Nat are in frustration for seeing the 4 in 34 appear on the return; I thought I blew my chance at a 2:25 fail, which, at the time, was a side objective.

, what about the shot you did during the Val strafing? It was about 3 years ago to this day when I finished my 226 sweep. It's good to see Statue discussion back up, first time since like Trent found the Trev shot discovery. It's funny how like no one plays this level. Anyways...
1. If you hit Trev flush in the chest, you should get what I think is the best reaction, which takes about a sec. It shouldn't vary at all as long as you hit it right. I have seen, though, where I got a good shoot (Agent 221 vid) where it didn't seem like Trev's message was that fast (a limb shot).
From my knowledge, I think Trev's text isn't 100% accurate. What matters most is the time from when you make the shot connect to the time obj B comes up. That could explain why my timing of Trev on 219 failed obj B. The text came up pretty fast on that one. If you don't already have the 219 fail vid I suggest you use that as your guide. Wouter and myself have it for sure if you want a look.
2. Not sure what you mean here. Did the text come up like instantly after you made the shot? Either that or you hit a guard in the chest instead, thus no reaction.
3. I slapped Nat on the end of my 219 fail for good measure.
I would say Agent 220 is about as good as 219 on 00A just because of how much harder the Trev shot is to do. Maybe it isn't that close to 219 good on 00A, but it isn't bad. I don't remember where decent spots to hit Trev were on agent, but try some of these: near the chest area, knee, upper shoulder. Dunno if you have noticed yet on agent, but you can sometimes get body hits on Trev that don't kill him. I don't think I ever did manage to fail 225 on the old strat.

Unless the trev shot isn't 5.9 but over 6 seconds.

In order to get fastest Trev on Agent without killing him you gotta hit the lower area of the chest. Somewhere between the limb area and the chest area. A knee shot is harder and i also belive it gives the same reaction as limb. Dunno really about the upper shoulder, Worth a try maybe.
But as others said already, Play SA/00A first, Those are much much easier.

Yeah, initially I thought the guards reacted no matter what. I realize now I was just getting hits on the guards. I confirmed this by chasing after Trev trying to backstrafe in front of him and examine him for blood, lol. One time he ran through a statue and disappeared (well before his normal exit point)
Brandon, where did 5.9s come from? The number would have to be with respect to the very best Trev shot possible, and I'm skeptical an estimate could be narrowed that much.

Regarding my video(s), the Val shots were my "trademark" for ages... just one of those weird habits that keep me entertained during runs. It's borderline superstitious.
Questions still open:
1 - Drawbacks to KF7 strat (other than getting the gun)?
2 - No explanation for why guards get mad on (apparently) clean Trev shots?

It's a shame I'm done with on Statue, I almost feel like playing it again. But I'm too rusty with 1.1, and too bad at Statue on 1.2. For the record I played about an hour of statue a few days ago (on 1.1 since I have a new controller) but didn't even get 1 Trev shot complete on SA. The Trev shot is the worst discovery ever, I hate it soooo much. The "randomly pissing off the guards of no reason" happens to me 80% of the time. I miss the shot altogether 15%. Kill Trev 4%. Complete it all 1%. SA.
I hope you PR there before the Trev shot kindness terminates. It's like bobbing for apples. When there are lots of apples in the bucket its not so hard, put your fucking mouth in and you've got a good chance of biting one. But as more and more mouths munch the macintoshes, it gets harder and harder to get an apple. Think of apples as Trev shots. Every time you bob for one, you take a bite out of future opportunities. And when you're starved for a PR after eternal futility, you will stare into the water basin and see nothing but your pale, depressed face. At this point, if you're lucky enough to snag a rare fruit, it will only be soggy, moldy, and tasteless.
I've had similar experiences with the glass opening on Aztec. Was it for you? Was it me? Did i watch too much t.v.? Is that a hint of accusation in your eyes? If anybody can tell me where that's from without cheating I'll be very impressed.

Clark, you want feedback, I say go KF7 strat. That way down the middle maybe wastes ONE second at the most (and perhaps less if you get the boosts I get, I've gotten 3 at the beginning in one run). Reason I don't have 2:21s is because I truly suck at Val, Trev Shot, and the end (I suck at timing the FR perfectly after opening final door).
Obviously if you're not going for WR, but merely all 97 points, go KF7...
One more thing, the ONLY way to get an instant reaction Agent, as seen in my 2:24 vid, is to pop Trev in the shoulder. It's a chest shot reaction with limb shot damage.

Val strafe, Trev shot and ending is basicly the only thing you do in this level...
I'd say it's pretty useless to go for the KF7. First of all you loose a bit of time killing guard. Then it's also much harder to go to the lenin statue, turn around and then zoom and also get a good view/shot at Trev. Maybe it's just me but that way is pretty difficult to get a fast and clean shot with.

OBNOXIOUSLY LONG STATUE POST OF THE DAY: AUGUST 8TH

On the initial 2:23 I got MAJOR guard stuckage and ended up with a 33.2 return
. The second one was some bullshit run.
For agent, not having yet read Jimbo's above post, I tried the KF7 strat and discovered that I got an instant reaction if I shot his upper arm--rustiness aside, it wasn't too hard to do. Then I came in here to read Jimbo affirm it. I didn't spent that long on agent... got an FR on my 8th Trev and decided to just quit while I was ahead and go back to SA. But yeah, it takes at most 0.5 to kill the first guard of the mission (skipping cinema) unless he's late getting up the hill. And the time it takes to set up for the shot is scarcely an issue... not with regard to my goals on agent. Waiting a few seconds on SA/00 to take the shot seems to improve the chance for connecting/quick-reaction by an exponential amount. Unfortunately, it seems the limit for the safe shot is 2:22.
Dan, I enjoyed your last post... it's nice to see honesty. I can say that it felt like I got in a slump on Trevs for a while... but I realized it was because I was starting to rush the shot. The reason I was over 50% on Trev shots on the 00 session was because I was waiting for him to square up with me, then shooting him right in the chest. Getting the quick reaction makes up for time lost if I rushed a shot and caught a limb (which is much more likely because he's angled away initially).
That being said, Bryan's Trev shot on his 2:19 fail is GODLY. You must've found the one pixel on his body that lends an instant reaction that early. I spent a few minutes trying crazy trev shots, and of 3 I pulled off, all of them ending up being slow reactions. I have a ton of respect for the quality of 2:20, and 2:21, too, really. 2:20 on agent is way better than I ever imagined.
Before I go to bed, a positive reminder for playing Statue. EVERY RUN IS MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE FROM OTHER RUNS. It is only reflex to feel like getting an FR one run lessons your chances to get one on the next. But because the game uses randomness functions, there is no correlation. This is the only thing that makes it bearable sometimes (though it also takes away the privilege of feeling like "any run now..." when you haven't gotten an FR for a while. All that has happened is that probability has @#%$ you in the ass up to that point.) And you know all this.
Note: I'm at my parents on dialup, hence my absence on AIM. This also means I can't really download any vids.

The leap from 2:21 to 2:20 is a deceptively big one... I'm definitely impressed with your 2:21. 2:22s are cake, but 2:21 requires a pretty aggressive Trev shot and/or perfect reaction (for me, at least). I'm still intending to play some Statue, but I've been busy moving lately. I'm sure I'll get in some play this weekend.
And Wouter, you can play Frigate agent 10 hours a day but no Statue? Statue stays interesting to me because the simplicity of it encourages you to really focus on your strafing... the music functions as a nice guage of your progress. And I find that legit fails on Statue feel like relative accomplishments...because you did everything right. You just wait for the game to surprise you with that marvelous beep. It's just one of those levels that I can come away from feeling accomplished, even if I don't complete any runs.

I cannot believe that this is worth 53 points, the run was absolutely shocking. I barely strafed 3/4 of the time in the tunnel and i got stuck on a guard for 1/2 secs. Hoping for under 210 soon.

Taking a completely different route than the wr strat I got a time of 1:17 on Bunker2(sa) today

You know, the first video I ever made was Bunker 2 SA 1:16, back before I joined the Elite, in fact. I, too, was using some random, outmoded strat. Find my vid (surely Wouter has it) and see if our strat was the same

Sorry I dont have a vid of this but Ive been doing this my whole ge career and thats for 00 too. Basiically I do the opposite of BB and other high ranked players instead of going straight for clipboard in beginning I go in this order.
A. Documents
B. Destroy 1st camera in room where Boris goes to on the bunker1(00) level.
C. Go back the same route I started the level in sometimes a guy with 2x klobbs will be there so I can open doors without having to shoot them in which leads to the guard with clipboard.
D. Go for 2nd cam on the way to pickup ge video tape(lol)
E. Get rid of three more cams and exit level. With this start Id max at sub 1:10(SA)
With the wr strat Id max at probably 1:00 but I cant get the guy with double klobbs to appear, and thats because BB vid didnt show what movie clips he skipped or didnt skip. It be nice to find out though heh

there are 6 cams though, and the WR strat also maxes at sub 1:10

A couple days ago I got Bunker2(00) 1:47 which took off 0:59 off my total time(old pr=2:46) OMFG I nearly jumped in the air in excitment I mean in two tries I got this just because I ignored most of the guards and didnt make too much noise
