Has anyone ever tried any methods of getting extra boosts on this level (SA/00a)? Eg getting guards to be in certain places so they can boost you (or something different all together, I guess).
-
Ive gained a boost a few times on 00 for the guy by the double doors that lead down stairs after the first obj.
-
I guess what I'm really trying to say is...
New strat. (Or trick, if you prefer.)
Ask me for the vid anytime or Wouter in the next 5 hours or so from this post.

My method of getting 0:56 was really easy (and you can screw up a few parts of the level). I had 2 HUGE jumpstarts on the safe, SA being the bigger one...
-
ok...
-
I mean it's easier than having a guard be in a specific place for a boost that you probably won't get.
-
You don't know what you're talking about. Why would I make up some trickto help get 56? People already have 56. I don't care about tied records.
The trick also has nothing to do with getting a guard to shoot you. I just wanted to check if anyone had already thought of the trick before I claimed it as my own, without giving it away. If someone had thought of it, they'd probably know what I was getting at.

I think he's talking about shooting the box to the left of the door you go out after getting the safe stuff. Shoot it down during the meeting so that one shot on the way out blows it up. I've thought of this before, a while ago, and though it could be used for 55, it has 2 disadvantages: the firing noise you make attracts guards, and the boosts you get from the box are difficult to control, since you're kind of turning as you take the boosts.
Edit: What's probably a better thing to experiment with is getting the door after the stairs open. I've had it open now and then when my shots to open the double doors landed on the bottom floor. It seems possible that not only could the guard open the downstairs door for you, but also give you a boost to the next door.

Yes, Cervone is right. However, you can actually get boosted twice by the same box. You get a 2nd one through the wall after you round the corner.
If you shot single dostovei shots a few seconds apart, would this prevent guards been alerted?
You might be able to get some cinema timing going to help with getting that door open that you speak of. He might need to be in a particular place. (I don't know anything here
)

It happend on my SA 56 where the guard opened the door under the stairs.
-
I'll put on walk through objects/doors using AR (so I can get the same speed as you guys) and see if I can find a way to get it consistently. 55 would be piss easy with that.
-
what about mishkin drawing his gun on you?
-
Only does that if you're really close to him or something. It's fine, whatever the condition is; tested already.
-
What about shooting the box outside the door and to the left. Could you blow it up before hand so you don't have to run around it, or leave it at 1 shot left and boost through it like on train.
Also, what about having mishkin fire at you as you leave the safe?

SpiderWaffle, Read the topic before posting.
One fact about Archives: Pp7 does less noise than DD4. I used this frequently in my DLTK run to alert guards i wanted to be alerted and kept others from disturbing me at Mishkin.
So avoiding to alert guards depends on 2 things, How far away from them you are and what kind of gun you're using(And of course the amount of shots in a small amount of time). Pp7 and slow shots should be fine. However, You(Matt) say Mishkin is fine if you're a bit away from him, But is this within the "talking range"? If it is then this strat is kind of interresting.
And yet another thing, Can you shoot the box through the small crack between the door and the wall? Should be possible i guess.
And what this topic was originally about, Making guards shoot you. Well, getting guards to be in the right place is possible, But also making them shoot you isn't very likely. I'd go with the normal strat. However, Making guards open doors like in Bryan's run, can be done. It has alot to do with how much cinema you watch and what gun you use. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out the way to open whichever door you want opened.

How the hell are you gonna get the pp7 on a 55 run?
The coolest thing to do on Arch would be to open the safe through the wall close to the last door you go through, then get the @#%$ you need with the magnet attract (which does attract whatever's in the safe). Too bad none of it works, hehe. It might have on PD.
