Does anyone have a video of the "simple" Cradle strat in action? My current time is 1:41 so anything is an improvement on that! Apologies if this is available somewhere and I missed it.

Are you familiar with Get File on AIM?  Look at the Elite's AIM Listing here: thevectorman.net/comeasur/aim.html (http://thevectorman.net/comeasur/aim.html)

Look for people that are sharing vids and get file from them.  Then look for Cradle SA/00 times between 42s and 50s and it will surely be the strat you have in mind (the non-grenade strat).

actually it IS a grenade strat, just in this case Trevelyan drops it and kills himself with it :p

Random fact: I've never completed a run on Cradle using the suicide strat on any difficulty. All my horrible Cradle times were done using the respective "WR" strats. :\  ;)

I have 42 on sa/00 I can make a vid if you want to ? Should not be to hard to get.. Hehe..

That would actually be really good. Strat Central is great but there's no point in a n00b like me trying to get, for example, a sub-60 seconds time on 00 Caverns. My current best time is about 15 minutes. I don't mind putting in the practice but trying to take 14 minutes off your time in one go is stupid. So more details on safe strats (including videos) would be really appreciated.

i have alot of tutorial vids floating around aim (playng live with safe strats explaining them as i do so). thomas andrews has a bunch, you should ask him when he gets back from germany

If you come into the Elite's AIM Chatroom (use the link on top of the boards, or on the mainpage), you can ask for a vid of any level and we'd be able to supply you with vids that span a range of skills, strats, etc.

yeah that strat is awesome, when  you run down and hear the clank of the grenade it is as almost good as the opening of the door on aztec :)

Amusingly I got it to work first time, on Agent. Now I've been playing all day and not had a single repeat.

hmmm works almost everytime if u do it right, but the time varies alot.

just stand back against hut looking towards the stairs. your character should be like between the stairs and pillar roughly against that hut.
