Title: repairs save money, but how?

So I was dismantling a yellow controller I bought used, and was playing around with it and whatnot. So the analog stick quite f***ed up, So I was wondering how to "make it work" again. I tried prying that box around the stick open, but it's pretty much glued there, not allowing me to clean it. Is it possible to fix the analog stick? Is it possible, or must I go on teh bl4ck mark-it and buy a new one?
