you can skip mayor parts of the level using this glitch lucypha and i just found out today. it is possible to get on top of the outer barrier of that lavel. and you can walk towards the end of the level on there, skipping all guards, all objectives...
we were not able to reach the end of the level with this bug yet, but we already managed to skip the second landing ship area, including all the guards which would normally be there.
here is a vid, which shows how to perform the glitch. it exactly shows how far we managed to walk on the edge now.

you can reach the top of the level in the waterfall area when you glitch on top of the rock which divides this area into two different paths. if you are walking on the right path you will find the spot where the vid starts.
i made a stupid mistake and fell off the edge in the end of the vid. i believe that its possible to get much further.
and besides that, yes, you can run to the start of the level, but you cannot get to the barrier on the other side. if you are behind the start you will find an invisible wall on top of the edge. you will always fall off there. so using the other side is no option, and you also cant jump to the other side if you are on the rock.

there is a part where you have to duck and go down a little bit, otherwise you cant get any further. you have to roll back on top of the edge again after that part. it took us hours to find out how to bypass that thing.
another much more difficult part is where the edge becomes so small that it is just a small line, you have to be very very carefully to get to the other side. the rest is quite simple.
and when the level disappers just make a roll and you will see everything again.

the line in that small part should be a litte bit to the right of the center of your TV screen, then you can drop to the other side. just make it slowly, and you wont fall off. but i cant gurantee that it works everytime. i managed it in about 30% of all tries.
and dont try to walk on the line, this isnt possible, i tried that on the desert multiplayer map long time ago, and it never worked, you will just fall off. therefore you cant easily pass the part i fell off in the vid, too. there have always to be some polygons under your feet, where you are able to walk on.

I did this about a month ago. And yes, you can get to the end of the level =)

it would be nice if you tell the world how you did it, or even better if you show us a vid. i cant think of getting any further than in my vid, because i already tried it many times now.
