Congrats on your achievement. I know I was a dick about the barrier, but that is in the past. With your insane dedication to the game, you were able to rise all the way to the top. Not only have you been more dedicated to the game over the last year + than anyone else, you're a better talent than everyone else (except maybe Rayan). The skies the limit for where you go. I made my living in 1st by taking advantage of new strats/tricks for my WRs. You do it with raw talent in many cases. I'm clearly no match anymore, and I'll admit it. I'm sick of all the constant heat about being pwned and !%$$, not like I don't know I have been for the last half year. Sometimes a better player comes around and there's nothing you can do about it. Most people just don't understand what pressures lie when being in 1st. Everything is magnified. Just know that you'll be the one with the magnifying glass. I'll just be an afterthought from now on. Anyway, congrats again and good luck in your quest to 6000.

cmon bryan, you know you and dave are on about the same exact skill level. you have just been playing it for so many years more, you are sick of it. that always makes it harder to perform at your best, dave came and is doing good, alot of it has to do with the fact it is somewhat new to him, plus knowing he is almost first is exciting which helps him give it that extra effort that he does not even realize. you on the other hand are just playing hard again and again nervously hoping to stay ahead of him, and your body is silently saying "oh god here we go again, hope i react to my masters commands right this time!" and since it is SO tired of the same thing over and over again, plus you are nervous of losing first that automatically makes you not quite able peak out your ability like dave can. that is perfectly okay though, you have been playing GE and PD for around 4 years now and it is obvious you were the best at both, your body is just SICK of the games so you can proudly retire if you feel like it, nobody will forget. as a matter of fact, I do highly recommend you retire, sit back and enjoy what new insane wr's get accomplished and enjoy watching the videos, that is what I do and I don't even really compete at all! I like seeing you play of course as with everybody else(more exciting new wr's the better!) but from how you post it sounds like retiring(but hanging on the boards) would really really benefit you.
you played, become the best, but you just cannot bear to go on, so retire. it is perfectly fine if you wish to do so. I for one still view Paragon as one of the best, and he is 15th place or something now! people will view you the same way, especially for holding a dual championship for so long.

Boss got to 1st by not sending tapes and whoarding strats for years on end, so that players like Cervone, Illu and myself could never catch up. Finally some people (Ace and Clemens) who are slightly better than the three I mentioned came along and overcame the lack of vids/strats. I still think Boss is better than the Cervone/Illu/Goose combination ever was. What makes Boss different was the ability to get any WR he could ever want. Something the others couldn't do. Now Clemens can do it; its pretty clear. And if Ace can do anything to GE like he did to PD then he'll be provenly better too.

for now i think clemens is gonna be first, but that's no reason for bryan to quit, i guess
now that he admited to himself that he is second, he could calm down a little, and get the WRs he want, maybe maxing stages one by one, without pressure
UNLESS, he is really sick of GE (that is something we understand) and want to quit for that reason, but that's not what it seems
but yeah, maybe ace can pwn 2008, or maybe even some other guy, new or not, we have tons of great players (clemens, bryan, illu, goose, cervone, ace, wouter... vitor miranda... pff hahahaha)

Well I've had to play levels I hate lately just to attempt to keep up. I don't really like B1 00A/S2 SA/Jungles/Aztec A/SA that much at all. I need to just play something I like.. but yeah retirement is always lurking.

i haven't played GE in a while now and have had no feelings to do so
and also its funny when people say 'retire'. it sounds like your job is to play GE and if it is thats kind of really sad but im guessing you already know and don't care if thats you because you accept it. my biggest advice would be set your nintendo on fire, or throw it into a river, or smash it with a hammer, or do what a friends brother of mine did, and piss inside the cartridge slot!

Honestly I don't care about what you think anymore, Karl. If you've really moved on in life, then why are you even still posting on the GE boards? You were quite the ##@%@+% in your day. You were taking your GE/PD times down and making gay posts all the time, retiring and coming back a bunch of times.
This topic is about Clemens getting 1st, and we'll leave it at that. It's a topic designed to "pass the torch". If you don't buy it (which is what you're saying), then just keep it to yourself. I'm not someone that tries to rant, just my train of thought (unable to control emotions) can be off sometimes and sound like that then. I'm not Mr. Perfect, ok?

I was gonna make a bad joke about this but I'll leave it. Bryan, Karl (and whoever else making fun of you) is actually trying to help you, because you are acting like a loser etc. Just give a $$%+ to it and move with your life, or play GE and rape everyone again, whatever. Just stop acting like GE is your life (even thought it might be), because you are caring way too much about a !!$#*@% videogame - it is supposed to be your entertainment.
Of course Karl was a !!$#*@% ++#% back in the days, I used to hate him to death. He was that funny nerdy that's annoying to people.. but you know what? After a while (after actually getting through the "heat" of playing, doing some kind of retirement), I could understand that Karl was like trying to get rid of the game or whatever, and being a ++#% for that because he really didn't care much.
I'm falling asleep and perpahs I said some $$%+ here, but Bryan, I think you need to stop caring too much about it. You want to say someday "Once I was #1 at both PD and GE" and not "Once I was #1 at both PD and GE and I got into depression after I lost the first spot, losing a couple of years in my life". I don't think I can be any helpful here, but whatever, just my opinions.

Clemens is 5 points behind Boss' proven times, but will lose a good deal of points from Runway 22 and Caverns 102 if those aren't reproduced on video by the end of this month.

I honestly couldnt give a shit about whether or not you listen to me, but if there is a chance that you will then it would be my duty as someone who has experienced exactly what you're going through to give you an honest and up-front response. If there is ever a point in your life at which you grow up and move on with your life, you will think of my posts and realise how helpful they actually are.
I cant slap you because i live on the other side of the planet, but at the very least I can put up a resistance to your needy behaviour as apposed to nurturing you like your mother has obviously done too much of.

I actually talked to Karl about that exactly, the caring issue when he was making posts and talking to me like this. He said basically that he has a mindset of what he wants to do in his day, and as long as that happens he doesn't care what else happens, so we assume that making posts like this don't take away from his ability to do whatever he had priorities on in the day. Of course I can't speak for Karl but I think this is the idea.

Boss just needs to calm down, but the people around him too. The only thing he does, is that he puts himself in a position of beeing the victim of all this. Well, Bryan, i'm glad that you are not. Because no one ever told you to become first, spend hours and hours on PD/GE, or to defend your position.
"I'll just be an afterthought from now on" are exactly those lines to which I am referring to. Please man, don't do this to yourself, because the only thing you'll get in return from it, are the opposite of what you want to reach with it.
Because.....nobody cares about a great champ like you behaving like that. Its quite obvious that you want some recognition for all those things you did for PD and GE. Thats why you make those topics... But believe me, people will remember you a thousand times better if you just act normal. No, you go and cry for attention while everyone is in the heat of Clemens, who just passed you.
Please please Bryan, I may not know you personally, but dude, don't do this to yourself. You are one of the greatest champs the Elite has ever known, so why screw up that image?

Your "surrender" may be a bitter pill to swallow, but yeah like you said it yourself, that is exactly what competitive gaming is about. Eventually, you will lose. always. Does that have to say that you are not allowed to push yourself to the limit like you did? No. and it was totally cool, every bit of it.
I think I understand why some people get pissed, because a winner like Boss behaving like this, can indeed be annoying. But on the other side I would also say: give the man a break. He just lost his championship, can imagine he feels down about that.
Last thing = I personally hope, that Ãf you are not tired from the games yet, you get inspiration out of the situation and take your 2nd place to your advantage. Something to aim for (Passing the first) will always be easier than staying ahead of the rest. Ask a professional Cycler about that one.
Well, and if you are really that sick of the games like you tell everyone, than make it easy for yourself, and quit NORMALLY. And be remembered as the Big Boss.
