This song is awesome. I first heard it on the radio and didn't think too much of it at all, but looked it up when i got home and found the video it's given it more meaning, a whole new appreciation, I was never into rap at all, but this song is pretty killer.

I been repeating the song constantly for a while now, lol
Anyone else got any links to Utube of any music similiar to this? with emotion or whatever? would be cool to hear some new music I know you have all got a pretty varied taste in music but I will listen to anything that sounds good and a video is always good to go along with it aswel!!
Edit: I just think it's pretty cool how the story is told y'know, two close friends grew up together, they each go their seperate ways, one guy chooses power, the other chooses freedom? The guy with the power fucks the country up. while his close friend riots thinking he can make an impact seeing as how he knows the guy with the power at hand. Lots of killing. then the guy with power realises what he has done. The video is cut with the lyrics "I can ride my bike with no handle bars" haha such an awesome ending

You just made Mark your best friend. Good job!

I can end a nation in a holocaust.
The song is good, it's more rock than rap and has a powerful message. Too bad no one cares (https://forums.the-elite.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ezboard.com%2Fintl%2Faenglish%2Fimages%2Femoticons%2Fsmile.gif&hash=1adea417e08e9042f9ce1a5426616bf29f2ca20e)

poor excuse octo! Handlebars got ZERO radio play on the pop stations here, I didn't hear it once ever. I only know of it because I'm an avid mainstream music follower. The only significant airplay Handlebars got was on a few modern rock stations, so your (terribly biased) opinion of "popular" music completely fails here. If you want to complain about I Kissed a Girl or All Summer Long, then go for it, but Handlebars is anything but mainstream.
Funny thing is, I bet if all the radio stations started playing Dream Theater you'd find a reason to dislike them too.
-
I don't dislike bands because they are on the radio, I dislike the radio because of the bands they play. If the radio played DT, I'd still like DT... and I'd like the radio more! But this song is terrible, and I've been hearing it and other nonsense garbage on the radio for quite a while now, and basically only listen to AM talk radio now
-
I guess the Jonas Brothers are your loss then.
-
yknow, I saw them perform something... i recognized the song, and didn't hate it. Would never listen to it on my own... lol. Atleast they play instruments, unlike most pop stars who don't have to do ANY work to get their money (https://forums.the-elite.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ezboard.com%2Fintl%2Faenglish%2Fimages%2Femoticons%2Fwink.gif&hash=4979046fbfc7ed25a03644bf608e503c4aa73f0f)

The first 5200 times I heard it were neat, now it just sucks.
-
octo and i share totally different music taste, but we have both had enough with FM radio to the point which we listen to AM talk radio (for me CDs mostly) more. theres 1 station where i live thats kinda good sometimes, but now days even what used to play a whole range of stuff, has slowly found its circle of songs that it constantly repeats. have a listen to Fleet Foxes - great band to come out of the US this year, and some of the best vocal harmonies i have ever heard
-
Wow, this song has been on Denver radio for over a year. It's hilarious to think it's "new" to anyone.
-
the only one it's new to apparently is KingPin. I have no idea why this song wasn't made back in June when the song was "hot."
-
You mean June of 2007, right? (https://forums.the-elite.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ezboard.com%2Fintl%2Faenglish%2Fimages%2Femoticons%2Fwink.gif&hash=4979046fbfc7ed25a03644bf608e503c4aa73f0f)

well it actually hit it's peak on the Billboard Hot 100 in June 08, and wasn't even on the charts in June 07. I'm too lazy to look up it's chartography right now but it hasn't been around in form of a released radio single for more than 1 year now, that I bet.
Mind you a song like Hey There Delilah, which imo is one of the worst songs ever written, was well known without being ever released for 2 years before it was finally released and went on to hit #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 several years after it was first well known. Same story with Daniel Powter's Bad Day and a few other songs which I'm too uninspired to name right now.
-
Oh, I'm sorry, it was all over Denver radio at the end of 2007.

Trust me, it's been on the radio here almost, if not at, a complete year.
-
aha! It said the radio station held a contest for local bands, so I would only assume that it didn't get ANYWHERE for a few months after it being played specifically in Denver. You just had an unlucky location for the song (https://forums.the-elite.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ezboard.com%2Fintl%2Faenglish%2Fimages%2Femoticons%2Ftongue.gif&hash=7cfc888ebd66cf455a55fd5e124ee8267da91148)
quoted from wiki "The single "Handlebars" became popular on alternative rock radio in April 2008 and peaked at #3 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart."
everything makes sense now (https://forums.the-elite.net/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ezboard.com%2Fintl%2Faenglish%2Fimages%2Femoticons%2Fsmile.gif&hash=1adea417e08e9042f9ce1a5426616bf29f2ca20e)

That's what I originally said!

Darn right, Hey There Delilah sucks. Handlebars is an excellent song, but it did get overplayed (always happens).
