Last night was certainly historic as a goup of chatters undoubtedly set the record for the longest string of NHL-related puns in a single outing. First here's the discussion leading up to what happened...

There's nothing quite as exciting as watching a ball move around a massive field for 90 minutes entering a net once in that time span, along with many feigned injuries and girlie athletes. That's more fun than getting a blowjob on a rollercoaster!

Sounds like NFL you're describing, not NHL.
In one of the most recent Leafs games, they went 8 minutes without a single stoppage. And tbh, most stoppages are under 30 seconds. The average play probably lasts around a minute. It's definitely the most time-consistent of the 4 major North American sports.
