This topic has been made specifically for the tournament. I will edit the challenges every week into the second post of this topic.
This tournament will be run for three weeks. This topic should be used primarily for questions about the challenges or rules, proof videos and score submissions. On that note, there are a lot of things to get to!
GENERAL RULES
1) There is a huge difference between Mission status: ABORTED and Mission status: FAILED. Keep in mind which one you need for your respective challenge.
2) Some challenges will require you to actually COMPLETE the mission. Make sure you do so if you are playing one of these challenges or your score will not count.
2a) If, on a mission which must be COMPLETE, you get the time saving glitch, your score will count.
3) Some challenges will allow certain cheats to be on (but aren't necessary) and some might require you to play on 007 mode. If you don't have all the cheats on your cartridge or have 007 mode unlocked, I recommend either getting them or being at a handicap of not being able to use them in these challenges.
4) I will describe the challenge and try to make sure there are no loopholes. If something comes up, I will be sure to deal with it right away and hopefully everyone does the challenge as intended without any cheating. For example, on the Dam SA practice challenge, Vitor brought up the idea of shooting 4 bullets in the first alarm as you first pass it so that at the end, when it becomes your last alarm, you only need to hit it once. Innovations like these are well welcome but there is a fine line between this kind of thinking and straight out depriving the integrity of the challenge.
5) I will provide 5 General Challenges per week. It is up to the team members to decide who does which challenge. The Team Challenge and Personal Challenge can be participated in by anyone.
6) Keep in mind that although Clemens (if he chooses to play it) might get 40 seconds on this week's Bunker 2 challenge while you are out sitting in the dust with your 1:15 time, you still could beat other players. You might not know who is playing which challenge on the other teams so never give up. Your 1:15 might stand up to 3rd place against other players, and every point is valuable in this contest. Everyone can make a difference no matter the skill level.
7) Most importantly. You can submit scores to me at any time during the week. I will provide an exact date and time which all scores must be in for that week. If your score is not in by this time, then it will not count. You have a whole week to play and submit a score so hopefully this isn't a problem for anyone. You can also post them in the topic at any time if you wish although if they are posted in the topic, they are not official. This can serve many a purpose from intimidation to mind games and is all part of the competition.

TEAMS
The teams currently are as follows:
More Elite than Elite: Clemens + Lockwood + Afan + Narigutita + Greg K
This team is about as stacked as it gets. Clemens should be the favorite to win his event all the time while Lockwood and Shawn can certainly hold their own ground in GE. Furthermore, they have best pals Nari and Vitor, both who have proven themselves greatly in Perfect Dark! What more could this team ask for? We will have to see if these GE hotshots and PD skill boys will put on a show or disappoint but it will most definitely be fun to watch!
Team Rudebox (aka Team Jackimus Schnuffel DJ Josette'd Dave Consol FUCK OUROMOV IN PUBLIC): Goose + Alex Anderson + Jack + Durk + Comet
Team Rudebox is definitely the people's favorite team. Who could ever forget this group's presence in 2005? Hopefully them and their häschenparti will be able to bring as much fun to this competition as promised! This team should be able to perform well so long as they aren't getting Rudeboxed or Dave Consol'd and could quite possibly leave the other teams in the cold asking "why you so nasty?"

Team Denis Lucid: Henning + Patrik +Axel Z + Rick Van Stralen + Matthijs Triep
Another very solid team (as opposed to a liquid or gas team) which could certainly take home the big prize. No real comment or discussion needs to be made as there are 3 top active players on this team, all hailing from Sweden. Rick Van Stralen is a bit of an unknown but with such a powerhouse core this team could be the Swedish juggernaut of our competition! Let's just hope they don't get distracted practicing Sweden's national sport and can perform under such massive pressure!
Team Adorable: Odin + Bozon + Alex H + speedruntrainer + Thiradell
How can you not love this team? Everyone's favorite GEer, SupaOdin is captaining this team of soft spoken Adam Bozon, metalhead Alex Hollingsworth, and everyone's favorite speedruntrainer, goodspeedruntrainer! All of these men have proven themselves in GE in some form or another. With impressive PRs from speedruntrainer, shocking WRs from Bozon, quality DLTK times from Axxem and consistently poised top 10 material from Glen, this team certainly has what it takes to compete with the best!
Team Busy Homers: Lovins + Jimbo + Woll + Matis + Drag
The name says it all. Firstly, the reasoning behind 5 players on this team is that they are all hard working men trying to live the American dream! If one of them cannot compete, another will step in for them. In the rare occasion where they are all able to play, two men will compete on the same challenge and the better of their scores will count. The team is also full of homers because of all the meetings these men have where illegal acts are performed. Hopefully they don't get distracted by their rumble packs and can play as hard as their penises!
I am aware that Narigutita and likely other people would like to join. It is possible that if enough people are interested we can make another team, but for the time being, these people will be substitutes. If anyone cannot play then these people will step in and take their spot on that team
for the duration of the tournament. This is perhaps harsh but needs to be done to avoid conspiring (convincing Ace to play on your team for a week, and then another team gets him the next week) and other poor gamesmanship.
SCORING This is how the competition will be scored.
Every week we will see this set up.
General Challenge 1
General Challenge 2
General Challenge 3
General Challenge 4
General Challenge 5
Team Challenge 1
Personal Challenge 1
The five general challenges must be assigned to one team member. I will accept one score from one person from each team for the general challenge. These will be ranked at the end of the week. The person with the best score on a challenge gets 8 points for his team. Second place gets 5 points, third gets 3 points, fourth gets 2 points and fifth gets 1 point. In the event of ties, the two tied scores will be awarded the same amount of points. This means that if a team's five players all win their respective challenges, that team gets 40 points.
Each week there will also be a team challenge and a personal challenge. These will be "all or nothing" format and both be worth 5 bonus points. In the team challenge, scores must be submitted by at least three members of each team. If more scores are submitted, the top three scores per team will be accepted. The times or scores will be added up, and the team which scores the best will win a bonus 5 points.
The personal challenge will work similarly. There will be one challenge, deemed the personal challenge. The player who scores the best on this challenge by the end of the week wins an extra 5 points for his team.
This means that anyone can do up to 3 challenges which could count for points weekly. For example, I imagine that Clemens and I will always be doing our own challenge, submitting a score for the personal challenge and perhaps working on the team challenge, whereas a guy like Greg Woll might only play his own personal challenge. This should also give a wide variety of challenges to everyone and hopefully is great fun!
Or in simplified form:
The General Challenges will be scored:
1st. 8
2nd. 5
3rd. 3
4th. 2
5th. 1
The winning player in the Personal Challenge will be awarded a bonus 5 points for his team. The team which wins the team challenge will win a bonus 5 points for their team as well. This means a maximum of 50 points can be won per week, per team.
At the end of the three weeks, there following will be decided:
Winning Team: whichever team has the most points
Most Valuable Player: whomever scored the most points in General and Personal challenges for his team.
PROOF Hopefully proof will not be an issue. It is highly encouraged that we all tape and make videos for trust and for fun. I have made a youtube account specifically for this that anyone can use!
http://www.youtube.com/user/EliteGETournament (http://www.youtube.com/user/EliteGETournament)
Username: EliteGETournament
Password: siloSA110
Anyone at any time can sign in and upload their videos to this account. I hope this resource will be used fruitfully.
Furthermore, if there is ever an issue where someone scores something ridiculous which no one can believe and no proof is provided, their score will not count. Pretty much the same policy that applies on the rankings applies here. Even if your time doesn't count, you still get 1 point for that week so there's really no reason not to make videos and no reason to lie!
And with that, we're off to the challenges!
