So a few days ago I returned from a two week stay in Ecuador, visiting locales such as the Galapagos Islands, the Amazon, the capital of Quito, and various locations in the Andes highlands.
For now, if anybody has any questions, I would love to answer them. I'll be uploading some pictures over the course of the next few days to share.
However, what I do have ready is a video of La Vaca Loca, aka The Crazy Cow. This Ecuadorian tradition consists of, basically, a man with a cow on his head chasing people with fireworks. Just check the video (the first minute is a bit tame...).

DavidK5 - Unfortunately, although I do have my scuba diving license (is it even necessary down there?), I didn't get to do any scuba (plenty of snorkeling though). I was in Ecuador as part of a class with my university. For the Galapagos section of our trip, we were on a cruise ship for 4 days/3 nights with 2 excursion a day, either hikes or snorkeling. We visited San Cristobal, Espanola, Floreana, Isabela, Fernandina, and Santa Cruz (It's possible I'm missing one or two islands here).
The trip was absolutely incredible. As far as some of my personal highlights in the Galapagos? On one snorkeling trip, we were swimming with penguins, cormorants, sea lions, sea turtles, etc. all at once. Also, a 10 ft (appx) manta ray swam directly underneath me, which was quite the site.

Anyway, interesting experience I had in the Amazon... I got stung by a wasp on my wrist, and it hurt like a real mother. About five minutes later, our native guide took his machete and chopped into the side of a tree. The tree started to "bleed" a sort of thin red sap. He collected it on a leaf and motioned to me to rub it on my sting. As I rubbed the red sap onto my wrist, it quickly turned into a white cream. The pain from the sting left almost instantly, and never came back. Hell yeah.
