I stay entirely offline for one week a year, and it's relaxing, but it's while I'm at our cottage in the northwoods that doesn't have any kind of access and there's plenty of other things to do. If you try it while still at home and with the computer sitting right there it's just going to bug you the whole time and be the exact opposite of relaxing.

I'll post my feelings here once per day or so, so you can all see what I go through!

I have already noticed a significant difference in what I do at home, and it's only been a short time so far. I hope this leads me to start doing things outside of my home instead of spending every single day of my life at home and virtually never going to do things with friends outside of school. In the last few months I've begun going to movies in town often, and playing Halo, with two different groups. I'd like to expand on that to doing other things (don't quite know what people do though). By removing myself from chat I'm spurring myself to find other things to do.

Already I've spent more time with my family today than I usually do in about 3 or 4 days.

I played Xbox for fun, not just because I was invited by a friend to play a specific game.

I worked on school stuff at home, instead of just sitting in chat.

So far this is actually good, my urge to return to chat has been greatly outweighed by the curiosity about what will come next.
