Personally, I think Easter, like every other holiday, has become a complete joke and I actually hate the people who celebrate it by buying chocolate and decorating their houses with rabbits. I also hate that this fellow Jesus gets a mention every year for something he probably didn't do well over 2000 years ago! You can deny the fact that Jesus was the representation of God on Earth all you want, but denying the fact that he did what there are claims for him to have done is like claiming that Plato never wrote down Socrates' philosophical dialogues, the Magna Carta never existed, Alexander the Great never conquered anything and the Packers never won a Super Bowl. Seriously Jimbo, you might want to learn a bit about history.

I went to the 6:30am service this morning to celebrate Jesus! He rose from hell on this day! What an amazing event.
Then I had a very nice meal with a bunch of family, and we hung out all afternoon. Great holiday, Easter is!

He certainly did some stuff, but not as near as we read on the bible.. it's just too insane. And those things written there have been changed (along with so many translations also) a lot of times throughout this 2000 and something years. Maybe it was a bunch of nosense crap and people started trying to give some meaning to it, thus changing a lot of what was really written in the first place.
Faith is a mistery for me :P But happy easter anyways.. those holydays that gather some people together have their value, nonetheless

Doing those crazy miracles wasn't even uncommon back then. There were many oracles who could do the same thing.
Being crucified was not uncommon either. It was a standard method of execution in that day.
So why is Jesus different?
I don't know, you tell me. What sets Jesus apart from the rest? On the surface, even with the miracles and crucifixion he was normal for his time. Therefore it must be that he actually was God on Earth that he was so powerful and remembered.

I know Shawn, and sometimes I feel ashamed.
The biggest problem is, living in a big city, being 19 years old, going to college, it is extremely difficult to not give in to temptation. The temptation of "being normal" by society's standards. You'd be hard pressed to find 1 real Christian of 1000 students at school. They're all out getting hammered 5 times per week and having sex with 10 girls per semester. In order to even have friends you have to throw away your beliefs. Maybe I'm blaming it too much on my current situation, but it is very oppressive towards my Christian beliefs.

I mean that Jesus was a great leader, probably the best ever, and yeah he was crucified, he had his followers, but all this "son of god" thing and everything involved is just too crazy.

Dying for three days and coming back doesn't mean you're the son of God. Nor does feeding the masses with 5 fish and 2 loaves of bread. Nor does walking on water.
