* HUGE REVAMP*
Talked with Ryan he is now only available MON TUE WED cause of work. He is driving up monday morning
I arrive 4PM on the 13th.
Sunday - Davids
Monday - Ryan and Jim should try to be here around 1-3 pm Id say. I think me and david could get the hotel set up at noon, and all the stuff so everything goes smoothly.
We stay in the hotel until thursday noon. This is a good time to do the mall of america I think, during the afternoon.
In a perfect world drag could have us over for the night.
Friday - Saturday. Not sure exactly but likely the meet will be winding down, might just be me and david at this point, whats your input on these dates jim? Im not sure if you wanted to stay the whole time or wanted to do like the 3-4 day thing. Hotel would be likely the only option though unless miracles happen somehow haha.
Things for people to bring:
Jim 1 gamecube controller, Mario party games maybe? any gamecube stuff you might think to bring) Monopoly board perhaps.
Ryan - Gameshark / Mario golf maybe?
Ill be bringing:
gamecube/hook ups/3 controllers warioware/mario kart/mario tennis

n64 games: Mp2, GE, GE jap, Dr mario, Kart, Smash, Starfox, Mario tennis, Duke nukem 64, Sin and punishment, F-zero x. Anything else I might have i should bring?
Im bringing the games other people have too so theres less confusion over n64 stuff potentially.

Im just going down to MN from the 13th-20th of November, Boss/Jimbo/Koch/Clemens/Myself, should be a pretty awesome meet!
If anyone has any ideas please post in this topic, lets figure things out ahead of time like locations etc etc so nothings a scramble.
I will bring nes/snes/n64 games, and most likely my gamecube for warioware. There shall be lots of MP2 I hope with Jimbo.

Many of you don't me as I troll these forums every now and then and have since 2002. I was formerly DarkSim7 with some pretty crap times on PD and Mario Kart 64. I have wanted to go to the VA meet the past three years but it hasn't worked into my schedule. I have VHS's of countless hours of Boss and I playing MK64 and Mario Tennis in college. (Remember....Bowser Castle?...grrr....) Anyways, I left the N64 scene for a while and became quite good at Halo. (The original, the only one that mattered) My gaming didn't progress much after that because other things came into play. I've thought about posting over the years but didn't have much to contribute, however, if invited I would enjoy coming to the MN meet. It would only be for the weekends since I work during the day and only if my job has me in MN. (I travel for my company one week out of 4 or so.) Since I live in Shakopee still it is less than an hour to St. Peter/Mankato and only a bit longer to Owatonna. Keep me posted as I think it would be fun to finally meet people I've "known" on here for almost 10 years. Thanks!

And Daniel, we would be happy to have you most likely. Sounds like it would be pretty epic if you got to hang out with Boss again since you two hung out a lot in college. Thats pretty crazy actually.

I think it should be held at drags since he has the nicest place for a meet of this caliber and it's a reasonable drive for everyone. I'd only be around for the weekend.

No can do. Drag said he will be busy during most the meet. Maybe we can all meet up there for a day or so before Alex goes back though. Alex has to go back on sunday early in the afternoon, so if you cant take work off i guess you can only be around fri-sat.

Oh what the hell, drag's was the reason I was considering going at all! What are the backup plans? I have that whole week off and it's only a 4 hour drive to drag's so w/e.

My city is only 30 minutes north of drag's. I drove 6 hours to wisconsin twice for the MI meets =p
Pretty sure i also told you on AIM that it may take place in a hotel for a few days.

I really hope everyone makes an effort to show up for a reasonable time and just have a blast. I know everyone has an idea of what they want, but cause of circumstances everyone might have to make a few comprimises on sleeping arrangements or the like. But cmon get pumped, its going to be worth it!

If it was just the weekend of the 18th to the 20th, I could host it at my house. My wife and daughter are gone that weekend. I usually have a lot of people over anyways. 4 Bedroom, 5 Bathroom, Lots of couches/beds/bean bags to crash on. I have a 130 inch mounted projector (bulb runnin low so quality isn't pristine, 50 inch plasma, 42 and 40 inch LCD that could be used. N64, 2 Xboxes, Xbox 360, 2 PS3's. I'd have to see if my NES and Gamecube still workl. 8 Foot pool table and 9 foot table tennis table. I'm 5 minutes from both Mystic Lake Casino and Canterbury Card club for the poker fans. Aside from my wife and daughter who will be out of town, I have two roommates, and my brother and his girl just moved in until they can get back on their feet and my mom and her boyfriend just moved in until they can get back on their feet hence the full house. There is also two dogs. No idea what anyone is doing that weekend but I should be available to host.

That would be awesome , alex has to be at the airport sunday afternoon though so we would have to dip out around noon most likely. Would be perfect for fri-early sun though i guess. We could meet up there friday afternoon when everyone is off work.

All I would need is a confirmation that I will be hosting and the number of people coming. Preferably a name list containing real names and online names so I can reacquaint myself. I will be home around 5:30pm Central Time but could leave work early. Just keep me posted if this is something everyone wants to do. I can give out directions at that time. Thanks!

That sounds pretty cool. I dont think any of us at all have interest in xbox or ps3 but sounds like a great place to do the weekend!
Hopefully you still own a CRT tv cause the input lag on modern tvs make n64s impossible to play unfortunately. Im sure Ill post back again soon, hopefully others comment as well

Well Boss's failure to communicate has lead me to to the conclusion that he won't be attending this meet. Anyway as for the list of names, right now I think at that time the following people will be involved:

I think that might be it as of now but not sure. Boss is still a bit up in the air but he hasnt made any effort to communicate about anything thus far and quite honestly Im sick of it. If he doesnt have an answer within a few days hes out, imo.

Didn't boss reply earlier saying he was available for the weekend? Man this will be really fun, I am excited to watch some speed runs of PD that I stayed up all night trying to achieve 11 years ago haha. Maybe I will finally pass 3 Hours total time :P MK64 will be fun too. I might be able to hold my own in that. Mario Tennis anyone?

Most of it will be up here but it looks like the last days of the meet (friday-sunday) will be at Daniel's house. Me and alex would probably be willing to drive down to st peter for a day or something too. Pretty much an anything goes type of meet i guess =p

I was planning on hanging out on the weekends. It looks like I am flying up to Canada for work on the 13th-16th so I won't be here for part of it. That said I will be hanging out the final weekend Fri-Sun. I'm down for anything and I have a small Video Game store a couple blocks away that has tons of old games if we feel like reminiscing. My mom, her boyfriend, my brother, his girlfriend and their two dogs are supposedly getting their own place this Sunday so it might free up a ton of space in the house. Question...where is everyone coming in from? I'm looking forward to it.

I couldn't believe the 500-600 number with the fare wars going on atm but I looked for 2 min and didn't find anything better. That's ridiculously unlucky. Have an amazing meet to make it worth it though guys.

Its always been about 600-700 canadian to fly to minnesota the last 2 years or so. sucks but what can you do =\
btw to cali which is over twice the distance its usually 300-400 lol. typical air lines ripping us off

I am david clemens... LOL. I was thinking for the drinking game whoever wins has to take a shot. that way the losers wont be completely screwed.
And thanks wheat, i think alex's money will be well spent when all is said and done though, and Ill be paying for most of the food and stuff when hes here so it isnt as horrible.

Bad News Bears guys I wanted to keep you posted as soon as I found anything out. It looks like my flight out to Canada to help these clients is being extended because they need lots of help. My leave day got delayed to the 16th and I won't be back until late 22nd early 23rd. Slightly inconvenient but I am going to see if I can make part of this weekend. I'm disappointed but I don't have much choice. I hope this doesn't totally FUBAR everything as I feel bad offering my home just to have a schedule conflict. I will let you guys know what days I am available and hopefully I can drive somewhere and still hang out and finally meet you guys.

I'd rather you guys make the hike obv :P I can provide pretty much everything and I have all the beds/gaming areas necessary for an awesome meet. If anything I'd just ask for a chip-in of the food costs and such.

After talking to alex i think we might stick with the MN idea. Still not sure but since we wanted to be in MN on wednesday it might prove not worth it to drive to and from wisconsin over the span of a few days. Would be ideal if we drove there for like 4 days at least but not sure if that works since that game store near my house is holding a goldeneye event on wednesday... Oh well we will talk about it more over the next day and hopefully have a conclusion to it by friday.

lol Jim. It's really not that bad if you drive here. I've talked to Alex and i think were certain now that it has to stay in MN for a few reasons. The biggest being that I dont have a good car to make a drive like that at the moment, but also we just feel its better because this will probably allow us to do a greater amount of things outside of gaming (mall of america, minnesota zoo etc) and i dont really think Koch is gonna want to drive his car all the way there, since his longest drive that I know of is only an hour to my place. Alex has to be back in MN by sunday morning too and that would more than likely mean a saturday night drive home which isnt really great either. It wont be so bad since, like i said before, I can try and cover some of the food and hopefully me and alex can cover the hotel costs. If you really dont want to eat out we can go to my place and cook a meal and then go back to the hotel, since its literally a mile away, lol. The amount of room here is just crap for more than 2 people, and we should have 4, so right now there isnt much option. It will be awesome, dont drop out!
And koch, can you please confirm when you will be driving into MN? Right now we will probably need you to be in by wednesday afternoon.

They way I see it basically we will be at davids but rather then using his place which isnt too big we are in a hotel a mile away.
Doing all that flying and the driving and then flying for me is kind of annoying, doing the 9 flights from last meet was pretty brutal. (wpg->toronto->mn->detroit->amsterdam->sweden->amsterdam->mn->toronto->wpg) doing flights and long drives again almost feels a bit unfair when we can have a quality meet just by davids and have alot in the area to do non gaming wise.
Factor in we have to use ryans car and if ryan is even willing to go or if hes available all of those days etc etc makes it more complicated and I dont want to put all that pressure on him either. Also daniel might be able to stop in a few times which would be awesome (im looking forward too)
I Hope Jim makes the drive I even have a prize I may give for good sportsmanship driving out here :P

This doesnt make sense.... Jim you should talk to david on aim today around noon. your going to miss most of the meet then. Ryan is only available mon/tue/wed. So we are doing the hotel, after that not too sure where you could stay.
I highly suggest driving down monday. I Dropped 800+ on this meet so feels kind of stupid if you decide to not be much part of it for some reason

Yeah, Jim if you could drive up Monday we would highly appreciate it! Sorry for the short term notice. Also remember Alex has a gift for you (I know what it is, and trust me it's pretty good!). If you absolutely cant until Tuesday, at least try and make it here earlier in the day . Koch can probably hang around till thursday so thatd still be 2 days of full meet time for you, but Monday is still ideal. Let me know if its possible.

why do you want MK64 Jap koch? There's no obvious advantage like GE. (minor irrel nit picking--there's 2 different versions, one you can't do TTSC on)

I just have the urge to collect my fav games in multiple versions, JAP carts are fun imo. Are there any other differences between the two other than Wario and Toad's voices? I also ordered Smash Bros JAP. I know the game inside and out but I don't own it and the JAP is considerably cheaper than the Amer.

Pretty bummed I have to drive alex to the airport tomorrow. Some highlights though that happened through the meet:
- Obviously a ton of Mario Party. Probably the most I have every played over a period of a week, easily. We did 50 rounders with Jim on every single level after Koch left. Was hilarious screwing eachother over.
-Epic rage on western land when Alex stole a star from Peach and I told him I would steal one from her too, then I stole a star from him out of revenge. He raged but then went on to win the game :nesquik:
- Tons of Goldeneye 3 player with Jim. Jim won 2 matches on bunker, and I believe i won every single other match. Probably played easily 30 games total.
- Got a bunch of good times in GE solo in front of Alex and Jim. Dam 53 in front of Alex and like 4 bunker 24s, cavs 00 135 and 132 E fail, fac sa 53 fail leaving like .01 too early and a first try 54 bad trev. A few arch 16's etc. You know, standard meet stuff :v
-laughing our asses off at Sunny in Philly today. Bought season 6 on DVD, we watched about 5 or 6 episodes.
- we watched this movie called Cube from canada, was seriously one of the worst movies ever. We just kept laughing at how RIDIC it was.
- played a couple games of croquet with Jim. I believe we each one a single game. Was funny screwing eachother over though.
- getting the most drunk ive been in my entire life. Threw up like 6 times one night.
-Koch bailing out the 2nd day of the meet and Alex making him write my check. Was a little disappointed in him about this but whatever.
Ok well Ill write some more later and post a few pics I took, along with some hilarious videos i shot with my camera of random gaming moments. Fun meet though!

Haha yeah I probably won't play any more till the next MN meet. I guess thats why we play so much. We all don't have anyone around us who is good to play with so we pretty much only play during meets. It's our time to take advantage of n64 skill :nesquik:
