I had made a topic on this in the TSFP forums, but removed it when I saw that Phoenix's friend had registered so that he could make the official announcement:

I am very sorry to announce that ElitePhoenix passed away on December 27th, 2011.  His death was accidental.  He was 21 years old.

ElitePhoenix was an incredibly talented player.  He rose to the top of the TSFP rankings extremely fast and he's stayed there, holding top honors far longer than anyone else.  His talent at TSFP story is unmatched and many of his times are unbelievable.  It is a testament to his talent that many people on this site (myself included) thought that he was cheating when they initially saw some of his times.

He was still active in TSFP as of September/October 2011 with his last World Record being 1:30.3 in Virtual Brutality, which was a huge 3.9 second cut from the previous record and quite unbelievable (which was par for the course for ElitePhoenix).

This is a sad loss for our community, but much more importantly it is a very sad and difficult loss for Phoenix's friends and family.  My condolences go out to them.

Very sorry to hear about this.  I've wondered what would happen if any Eliter died and how it might be handled.  Very nice to know that he had friends that could pass this info, though very sad for his friends and family.  My condolances.

I recognized his alias from the TS boards and I remember seeing him #1 on Future Perfect rank when I last visited it but never knew him. What a great tragedy to lose the champ like that. Still, a far deeper tragedy for his friends and family. RIP  :(

Very sad news, I can barely believe it. He was an amazing player and all his recent posts shows a mature and kind side of him that we'll remember him by.

My condolences to his family and friends.

I’m very sorry to hear this. He got off to a wrong start on our site and it took such a long time to erase all of that. A pity, because during my talks with him, you could notice he was simply a nice guy and a fierce and extremely talented competitor. For that and more he will not be forgotten.

My condolences to friends and family.

Ik wens je alle sterkte toe, Klaas, hopelijk komen jij en zijn familie dit goed door. Mijn herinnering aan hem zal altijd positief zijn.

RIP Herrald
