Is there any way to disable the topic preview when the board detects a mobile or touch device (should be identifiable via the browser user-agent value)? When viewing the boards on my iPhone, clicking on a topic/thread opens up the preview window without actually loading the topic/thread page which isn't a problem in and of itself. However, I haven't found a reliable way to close the topic preview and this causes issues with being able to see/open other topics. It's more of a nuisance but it would be nice to have an option to disable (I didn't see anything in the preferences). Feel free to move/delete/lock this topic as needed.

I have an iphone and when I click on the topic it opens up the preview plus also opens the topic. Are you saying that you can't get into topics at all?

I know exactly what you're talking about and it pisses me off as well, I usually have to open another topic and then in the 4 seconds or so it takes to load that topic, I have a window of opportunity to click on the page/topic I actually want to view... so far it's a way to work around it, but not an actual fix to the problem. Ah well...

Go into settings, safari, turn of javascript, should fix it.

Gonna be real here, does anyone even use these? I turned this on last year when someone suggested it and I've never used it. Unless someone has a good argument to keep them I'll just remove it.
Also dunno what the mobile version looks like for you guys, but for me it's just a blank white page with a blue link for each section.

While turning off JavaScript does resolve the issue, it's like setting off a hydrogen bomb to light a match. There are numerous sites that I visit that are affected by disabling JavaScript (mostly streaming animal porn and shock sites). The real solution would be to have a user preference to enable/disable topic previews or disable them altogether when viewing on a mobile device.
Scott, I'm fine with you turning them off completely. Also, I wasn't aware there was a mobile version of these boards. What's the URL?

Turned off the tooltips thing. When Infil comes back and asks me to turn it on I'll just direct him to the cage fight against you guys.
Props to free forum software communities for making grade A+++ add-ons with useful things like per-user features.... :'(
