I have decided that I am going to unretire and start playing for the first ever 100% run WR. As far as I know, this has never been done before, as we have only done A/SA/00A speedruns.
What do we as the elite agree is a good standard for a 100% run?
IMO
- beat the game on 00 Agent (thus unlocking 007 mode)
- get all the cheats (so you have to go back and play the A/SA levels with cheats)
- order of play doesn't matter (you can go to like Jungle 00A, then go play some A/SA for cheats)
Do we all agree this is a good constitution for a 100% GE run?

I have done about 50 of these runs already prepping for the sda marathon in january lol
I also play only in real time, so cinematics and menus count against your time, as well as slow level transitions
Would be cool to have some competition

I like the idea and it's good you're going to play again, but I'm not sure if I agree with the third point. I think everything should be done in order to make things as organized as possible.

This is old news; I've done 007 runs several times before. My record is 1 hour 23 minutes which isn't very good. I'd be more than glad if someone improved it! Perhaps Alex has done faster completion(s)?
I disagree with Corey btw, not that it matters much; you'll have to play all levels anyway.
Altogether you do 33 runs in this (unlock all levels and cheats). Unfortunately you have to play all the long levels twice (Surface 1, Statue, Control, Aztec) so it's pretty much impossible to get below 1 hour I'd say. Henning's 38:20 was done in 45 minutes, but then he watched cinemas, end screens etc. And the run in itself was so good so no one will probably get close to it while attempting this. Anything below 1:10 or so would be great.
edit: nice to see you're starting again, Goose :) Perhaps if this gets more competition YE can add 007 runs to the ranks!

Well I mean the reason I said that would be because if I tried to do a run like that then it would help me process things better if it was in order but like you said it probably doesn't make much of a dfference anyhow.

well with real-time its faster to unlock 007 mode then systematically get the cheats but It shouldn't matter in a game-time run (yawn :P) watching the silo cinema twice adds like a minute to your time (at no penalty)haha. I may have broken 1 hour game-time (just added up averages) but I time everything in real time like I said.
Plus I play everything out (no resets) since those are the conditions I will have in January. This means I have far fewer attempts then going for a record so my best time might not be the greatest atm. But it should be hovering around 1 hour game-time give or take 2 minutes. Though most runs end up having a death or a fail somewhere, else a huge mistake/bad luck

just make sure to stream that shit, Goose! I bet a lot of people would be interested in watching this live on Twitch. It is attempts like these that make a stream worth watching for outsiders (not someone resetting the same level every 10 seconds for 3 hours, only alex can watch that :) )

Yea full game speedruns are awesome for streams.
And I would agree a 100% GE run would be to beat the game while also getting all the cheats, I don't think it matters in what order, I mean at the end you would just go to the cheats menu and if everything is activated there then the game is 100% completed.
I'm not sure I even remember how it goes though but I guess you can't really avoid beating 00a so you would probably start with that.
Real time or ingame time I'm not sure, but sure would be a pain to count all those level times one by one since GE doesn't have a counter for total time like PD :P
I think many full game runs are done in real time, though those I'm thinking about might be because there's no in game timer, like mario, zelda.
But regardless of how to time this I think a 100% run without fail or death would be impressive, I mean you could just go for that and maybe get a nice time on the go.

When someone finish all that 300% completion (including silo dltk) they will start the PD 300% completion :v

I didn't say it was. Only referred to it as your JAP run isn't on the ranks.
and yeah, 007 runs should definitely be done in real time as it's more logical. For an outsider it's also more comprehensible if you beat the game and got all cheats in 75 minutes rather than if you beat the game and got all cheats with a mission time of 1:04:42. Just my opinion.

Yeah but i don't see why that would matter, if jap is legit for the normal ranks it should be legit for single segment runs as well imo.

Jap is perfectly legal. most games are ran on jap cause its faster

When should the timing of these runs start? As soon as you turn on the console right? So what are the best strats for adjusting the settings from 1.1 normal screen to whatever we prefer to use?
We need to do some 100% races. It would be so fucking epic because anyone can die at any time on the later 00A levels so no one would ever truly be out of the race.

On Dam 00a you addjust settings when pausing for modem, one less pause.
Start timing when console is switched on huh? when would timing stop then, when you see all cheats on the cheat menu?

nah usually the timing ends at your last input to complete the game. So when the screen fades on Egypt 00A (or whatever your last level is.) Then you'd just have to go show the cheat screen to prove you got 100% or whatever (but this part wouldn't be timed.)
I think that makes the most sense.

you can adjust settings before your run. time starts after you press start on dam. ends on last fade out.

I guess for video axel has something available, I havent been recording my attempts due to splitter problems. Though im fairly certain I have done better

I guess I will try for a 100% speedrun at some point, but I will try to get the 00A wr before that so we're talking about years here haha when theres nothing left for me to do in GE :)

I think Alex said he got 1:12 or something. I have my 1:15:47 still on my HDD but the run is really flawed. I died once on Jungle Agent of all levels which is really embarrassing.

OK so no one has video. That sucks. I wanted to watch and learn strats.
I tried this briefly off-stream tonight but failed at Bunker 2 00A. I realized I have no idea how to play this level.
DOES ANYONE HAVE A VID OF BRYAN'S 00A 1:06 OLD STRAT?
I thought it should be easy to find but :/
Timing these runs will be REAL TIME since no other game uses in game time really. From the moment you hit reset until the last level fades out.
If Alex has an alleged 1:12 and Acke has 1:15:47 then at least that is a good starting point.
I might stream some "practicing for 100% speedrun" over the next few days.

I have a 1:07 on my youtube. Basically just use that strat except wait for 1st keycard at doors after 2nd cam. and in last room shoot the guards by the glass door. I averaged about 1:20 but have done low 1:10s on good runs. very consistant strat. theres half BA in clipboard room

Those are all pretty much unfailable stages, do you really want to play them early and waste your time if you screw your run later just to save a pause? As if it matters on such a run..

You bring up an extremely good point. Ideally I'd do Statue & Streets 00A with 1.2 but I guess that's not possible. That's why I wanted to do at least Streets 00A with 1.2. I will definitely reassess this.

Cradle Agent as last level with the ending credits is the way to go for 100% runs imo.

Mishkin died on Archives 00A so I had to redo
I spent TWELVE minutes on Caverns 00A... until I finally completed a 1:48
Cradle 00A was like 2 or 3 minutes because the nade didn't hurt him.
died on Streets A at the last set of RLs because I didn't give a fuck anymore.
The run is pretty shit and full of awful times. I don't even know what to say. At least I have some splits saved now.
