So not exactly James Bond type stuff, but there is a competition organization called IDPA that sets up defensive scenarios and then people go through it. Safety is hugely stressed of course but it's a lot of fun.
The following videos are of myself. Classifications in increasing order are "Novice, Marksman, Sharpshooter, Expert, Master" I am a Sharpshooter but I would say that's probably top 20%. Targets with black hands are the "scientists" in this situation: don't shoot them ;) Scoring is based on time, with inaccuracy adding to your score. Certain things (like shooting non-threats) incur large penalties.

The world champion is Vogel (real-life LEO) and here are some clips of him at nationals.

Seems pretty fun! And hard.

It's loads of fun and we always have a blast!
(bad puns, bad puns)
We do this locally once a month and it's something my wife and I always look forward to (she enjoys it as well). Shooting pistols in real life is far, far different from the impression you get on games and movies, can't even begin to describe it. For example, shooting from the hip means you probably won't even hit the entire target only a few meters away and if you try double-wielding, well, forget accuracy altogether.
It's a really fun sport though, testing your accuracy and speed in a timed situation and above all keeping safety in mind, which I think is great.
