Post by: NotATr0ll on February 10, 2013, 10:46:08 pm
the game play is pretty much the same as long as

A- your pc is decent
B- your internet is fast.

i would like to see how guys like lovins, woll and jimbo match up against the best players online.

if you decide to change your mind one day, here is all the information you need to get started.

I never cared I guess. Playing on a super-smooth emulator kind of takes away from the feeling and nostalgia of a real N64 console. Now I sound like David Clemens heh...

^Why do you refuse to play Single player? xD

Yeah - it takes away the feeling of a real N64 console, but still thank god it's possible to play online.
Yeah - I'd like to play multiplayer with Illu, Jimbo and Clemens.

The disadventage is that you get lag often if someone or you have a bad connection or play people from too far away.

your internet been extra slow as of late. you couldn't even p2p with me without lagging. hope you get something faster and start playing again soon.

im not a fan of single player and i admire anyone that is because it is just plain boring to me.

Yeah - I play Europeans fine without lag, don't know where that lag came from with p2p, oh well.
But - deal with lag if it's just a bit, it happens.

It's just that playing online is not as fun as it is on the n64. Some games are meant to be played "in real life", it's hard to explain. Basically all the good multiplayer games from N64 will be crap if you play online. Mario Kart 64 is like the classic multiplayer game to be played with a bunch of people together, yet I believe you have no fun if you play it online.

If you go online you have so many better options in terms of fun instead of GE Pistols LTK, IMO. Also remember that the ROM game is not identical to the N64 GE (it is preety good though), so some people just wouldn't like to play it because it "feels" different (add what Jimbo said, emulator runs 100% smooth, N64 doesn't).

Personally, I've played a LOT of GE/PD back in the days and I've been playing a few games online regularly for like 7 or 8 years (DotA, Team Fortress, CS, SSF4), and honestly I never had any motivation to play GE or PD online, even though I love playing them on N64 and really enjoy playing online. It's weird indeed.

The ROM is just the orginal Goldeneye 007 on N64, but on emulator it feels indeed so much different yeah, controls a bit aswell - I use N64 USB adapter.
You still have the same options, LTK and pistols and everything that exists in Goldeneye 007.

But ofcourse, with friends on console is always better.

It looks like you turn it into a 'find a server topic' >_>
But I still find it weird that you don't like Single Player...
We all play that here :)

Yeah, the ROM is a "dump" of the game chip, so technically they're the same indeed. My bad :P
