This question came up at the Houston meetup after Mark Jones inquired. So "easiest" can be measured in terms of how long it would take to get (for a new player).
Ultimately we felt like all times worth 1+ points are pretty damn hard for newbs, and likewise, it's hard to pick a time. Mark can strafe and aim decently but points were still out of reach.
Thoughts?

It's Cradle SA/00A in terms of pure "easiness"
Surface 2 Agent 0:55 is also pretty retardedly easy. As in a retard could do it.
On that note, S2 SA 1:00 is somehow worth points. Lol. You could cake this with a 2nd or 3rd chance grenade pull and going behind the building.
So generally levels with grenade pulls are easy points since people don't play them.

Streets Agent 1:15
-
Runway A 0:23
-
Lol yeah technically Runway 23 is easiest. I'm pretty sure given 100 tries the top guys could get 23 blindfolded, just from muscle memory.
The reason I said Cradle SA/00A is because Alecboy aka Corey Stalzenbach "claims" (has ranked) 45 SA which scores points. If you've ever seen his stream he could possibly be the worst video game player who has ever touched a controller. There's a 99% chance he's lying as well as a 99% chance that time is very easy (not mutually exclusive.)

Runway A 0:23
With a 1/10 controller Streets is probably more doable, but 23 is pretty insanely easy yeah

You obviously don't remember you trying to do it blindfolded. :kappa:
But I personally (being a noob) can attest to Runway 23 being easiest. Took me about 2 hours, would have been less if I didn't have to come up with ways to turn faster on my 1-2/10 stick. (Ended up using my entire thumb - got it within 20 minutes of switching to that "strat")
The only other point times I have are Dam 54 and Bunker 18. Bunker 18 I got after about 3-4 hours, and 54 after maybe the same.

I agree that grenade levels are easy to get points on since they're generally underplayed.
S2 A 55 is somehow still worth 28 points (!), which is about 20 points too much.
Streets A 115 is insanely easy if you use 2.x and not even hard without it.
Silo 00A 2:34 should be fairly easy for a new player, especially if you use JAP.
Caverns 00A 3:55 if you do everything safe, JAP.
Statue 2:30 if you go for a safe Trev shot and best FR.
Archives 0:17 and Bunker 2 0:27 should be two of the hardest times to get for a new player.
I got Aztec 1:40 (it tied Goose who was 3rd back then) before I had Runway 23, B1 18 and B2 0:29 :kappa:
-
I got Aztec 1:30 untied before haven't playing almost any level yet :kappa:

Agree.
One way to look at it is that lower ranked players often put less time into the higher difficulty.
So playing 00A difficulty might be a good idea if you're not going for WRs.
Eg. Silo 00A World record is 1:22, but to get points you only need around 2:30.
Sure you will have lots of deaths, but you don't have to go through the level at breakneck speed to get those points.
-
I agree with Goose actually that Cradle SA/00A might be easiest, easier than Runway A 23.
I didn't even wait for a grenade on Cradle, just hoped for Trev to blow himself up and then ran for it, netting :44 and :46 respectively I believe. Crappy times but worth 28 and 24 points with almost no effort (I think I spent less than an hour to get both)
-
If we don't keep it just to GE then I will say Duel 3. I once showed a friend how to do it and he got it in only two tries having never played anything other than multi.
-
I think the easiest times are Streets A 1:15 and Surface 2 A 0:55
-
IIRC, Depot Agent 0:27 is insanely easy. No boost issues, basic strafing, trainshot isn't that hard... and it's much shorter than Streets too.
-
S2 A 55. Took me like 6 tries as a complete noob, I was shocked how much it was worth at the time. Runway A 23 still took me like 45 mins or an hour, since you need to learn the basic technicalities of the game to get (strafing, lookdown, grenade priming) You can completely suck at goldeneye and get silo 00A 2:30 or something.
-
I think it's streets 1:15 A and it's not close. I'm so bad at the game I feel like I'm an expert on this subject. (only have points on streets and statue so there you go for easiest even tho my statue (yeah it's fair to say all) times are awful)
-
Aztec A 1:54 is an overlooked possibility.
-
Depot 27.
-
Surface 2 0:55 seems really easy.. SA 1:00 is cake too if you know how to do the throw. I remember getting 0:57 when I was a n00b at the game.
Silo 2:30 seems a bit easy too, especially on JAP.
-
Easiest time - Surface 2 (Agent) - 0:55
Easiest time worth most points - Runway (Agent) - 0:23
-
well skimming the rankings for the purposes of the question the correct answer is streets A because 6 people only have that for points whereas every single person who has S2 A 55 or it seems the other times mentioned have points on other levels.
I just got 56 so I guess I should get 55 soon. *shrugs*

Make sure to boost yourself with the mine and risk the warp (mine to unarmed should be best). It's super-cake :)
Fuck, I'm still on 55. Have to do 49 ^^

Duel is the fat kid who gets picked last when choosing baseball teams.
-
Fat kids can typically "post up" well and can be hard to defend...

Hm, interesting. Avg finish is a very fair metric, though it takes away the bit of weighting for the 1st and 2nd place times.
I think we should come up with a weighted metric (the kind that would heavily favor an untied over a tied, and favor a 2-person tie over a 30-person tie) and add this *additionally* as a new criterion for ranking.
Before anything happens we'd need YE involved. It would probably be easy for him to establish any new metric (new DB field + SQL query), though getting this integrated into the site would be a moderate project.
Regarding the original topic:
- the JAP 00 ones make sense.
- 1:15 Streets I guess is pretty easy... I remember this requiring a 'nade (for me), but that was before lookdown. Wheat made a good point about ppl having this as their only time. How much does 2.x save on the starts?
- cradle SA/00 definitely, provided it's probably explained/understood by newb.
- S2 A yeah that should be easy with lookdown (I have to keep reminding myself).
I think I'll test this on Eli (vets will know who I mean)
