I'm an avid GoldenEye player and while I don't do speed-runs myself, I enjoy watching videos of the elite players doing them and want to pose a challenge. We've all seen Aztec speed runs utilize the exploit of sneaking in to get the DAT and finish Objective A without having to defeat Jaws. That's all fair and good but I've always wondered what Aztec speed-runs in which the player had to defeat Jaws would look like. What strategies would be used? What would the times be? So there's a challenge for all you speed-runners: Aztec level speed-run defeating Jaws.

I would think about 2:00-2:10 can easily be done on 00A. I know there have been around 2:30-2:40 completed in the past. My 2:40 back from ~2000 was done this way as well.

Back in the year 2000, there was a FAQ which featured an "Aztec Challenge". Basically, players tried to use the strat you just mentioned (kill Jaws) and complete the level as fast as possible. Scroll down 3/4 of the page, and you can read about its history.
This was of course long before Bosshardt invented the glass strategy. Ironically, Jon Bearder was the person that won the Aztec challenge which was created by Karl Jobst. Considering how Ngamer's role has changed in this coummunity, history has proven to us that anything can happen.

You can just kill Jaws as the end timer is counting down, so in theory lower than 1:25 / 1:35 / 1:39 are all doable "while defeating Jaws."

I think Jimbo put some money down for the best time with a Jaws kill by the end of the month awhile back. Marc and Ace pulled out some pretty good times but AFAIK no one collected any money.

Had a feeling that this probably was done before. I'm new to this speed-run sub-culture. I'm more of a "hacked levels from GoldenEyeVault" kinda of guy.
