Title: PAUSE TRICK WHICH SAVES 0.3 SECONDS PER LEVEL
Post by: RWG on July 26, 2014, 11:52:05 pm
Can someone please explain in words, exactly how this is executed?  Am I correct in gathering that by simply pausing "at the right time" as a level is fading out, you save 0.3 seconds?  On Surface 1 Agent, should I just start to fall in the hole and then hit pause and hopefully get it?  Is that all there is to it?

This seems like the biggest thing since the Control ending so there really should be more, concise, explanatory posts about it.  Please someone do tell.

This also clearly makes Surface 1 Agent 1:01 possible.  1:02 was done with 1.2 and nothing else.  Use 2.2 (-0.3,) get boost (-0.3,) pause trick (-0.3,) and crouch at end (-0.05,) and there's 1:01.

Not sure but i think it might only be useful on levels where the fade is on a timer. Like train, egypt, aztec. So its not really that useful.

Pause trick only works for Train and Cradle I think.

^^

Egypt/Aztec doesn't work for whatever reason. GE just has different ending scripts for each level.

Dunno where all these false rumors about the pause trick is coming from. It saves alot of time on emulator yes, but we know for a fact that console has less pause lag, meaning it'll almost certainly save much less on console. I'm guessing a couple of frames.
