Post by: flukey lukey on December 30, 2014, 10:34:32 pm
THE BEST GOLDENEYE WRs OF 2014!!!

With 2014 nearly up it's time for The-Elite to come together and decided which WRs are most deserving of legendary status!

Statue A 2:18 - Jimmy Bauer (4/2/14) VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eywahZOHTIQ)
Frigate SA 1:00 - Luke Pettit (9/2/14) VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aBwUXviwMXY)
Control 00A 4:05 - Rayan I. (10/3/14) VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91Ls5MMRoXA)
Control SA 4:04 - Rayan I. (10/3/14) VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MOXcJRDKVOI)
Cradle 00A 0:35 - Karl Jobst (26/3/14) VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCr6j6ur8qc)
Silo A 1:00 - Rayan I. (20/6/14) VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nX00TbyI_wg) (tied by Marc Rutzou 2/10/14) VIDEO (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hbEcIskIhUA)
Silo 00A 1:21 - Rayan I. (10/7/14) VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=djO3zwBP0ig)
Silo SA 1:08 - Rayan I. (15/7/14) VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nm4y2ONambs)
Streets SA 1:54 - Ryan White (25/7/14) VIDEO (http://www.twitch.tv/theelitegaming/c/4740548)
Aztec SA 1:34 - Rayan I. (5/8/14) VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oYnW6yKm--U)
Train 00A 1:49 - Rayan I. (8/8/14) VIDEO (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOrNeKedlZU)
Caverns SA 1:13 - Luke Szklarz (30/9/14) VIDEO (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slfGrOcgQkw&feature=youtu.be)

It's been a hell of a year, with 20 seconds cut! by 8 different players!! A lot of this came down to 2 new strat discoveries on Control and Caverns, as well as some dedicated grinding from the most insane Goldeneye players. No-one could have predicted what an insane year 2014 would turn out to be, but with the rising popularity of the game and influx of new members into the community, it's safe to say that 2015 should see some sick UWRs.

The poll includes all Untied World Records achieved in 2014 which EITHER still stand as Untied World Records or World Records (In the case of Silo 1:00).

The Poll will be up for 7 days so watch all the WRs again and get your votes in fast!

Have fun picking your favorite WRs from the year, have a Happy New Year and see some of you at AGDQ where the results will be tallied!

I voted for the following;

Control 00A 4:05 - although 4:04 is probably doable there are realistically just 3 people capable of tying this tough record, at least one of whom is washed up. Need good OCB, lots of luck and most importantly no choking :kappa:

Train 00A 1:49 - pretty much same as above :kappa:

Silo Agent 1:00 - because of all of the hype it generated

Voted for Statue A 2:18, Control 00A 4:05 and Train 00A 1:49. Silo 1:00 is sick as well but I can't vote for a tied WR.

The WR of the year is Streets 1:54.  I'm not only saying this because it's my WR.  I'm saying this because I took thousands of people on an epic journey with me.  We all witnessed it.  We were all there.

Look at it like this;  What movie is best?  Argo, The Artist, or Lawrence of Arabia?  The Departed, Crash or The Lord of the Rings Trilogy?  All great movies, but the epic ones are the ones which both mean something on a deeper level to those who experienced them, as well as last through the test of time.  I don't disagree that Control SA 4:04 is a more skillful record than Streets 1:54.  But in 10 years, no one will remember 404.  People will remember 1:54, how they spent every night tuning in to follow the journey, and how they felt when they saw it achieved in front of their eyes.

Streets Secret Agent 1:54 is the WR of the year.
