So, of the 366 possible days in a calendar year, 365 have at least one world record listed for them in the database. The lone day with zero world records, as you've probably seen me mention in the past, is January 23rd.
This is going to change. I propose a day where all of us pick up our consoles and grind out a record that day. I am pledging a $25.00 bounty (USD) to the best world record achieved that day that the player does not currently have. Here are some rules since it's my money on the line:
1. NO HOARDING - to claim the bounty, the record must be streamed. Starting time will be January 23rd at 00:00 AM to 23:59 PM Eastern Standard Time. You can practice to your heart's content all week leading up to the day, but you must get the record within the 24 hour window and be credited in the database to claim the money.
2. Tiers will used as a general guideline, but this is mostly a judgement call. Cosmo getting Depot 00A 0:47 will probably win over Clemens getting Facility Agent 0:43, for example.
3. Any untied record will instantly end the contest and claim the cash. So long as it's streamed, obviously.
4. The following records are EXEMPT from the bounty - Runway 0:22, Archives 0:16, Surface 2 0:48 (sorry Marc). My intention is for people to push for harder stuff, but I don't foresee too much of that.
One last note - if you don't want/need the cash, an alternative prize can be a JUNGLE or EXTREME GREEN N64 controller, both with 9/10 sticks. If I end up shipping overseas, we'll have to negotiate shipping. That's it, spread the word!

If anyone achieves Dam A 52 on 23 January, under Jimbo's conditions, I pledge to give them $100. Maybe some other people will pitch in on this too.

I initially thought Jimbo meant there were 0 untieds on January 23. For there to not be a single world record on that day for 15+ years is pretty strange indeed.
I'm going to play Aztec SA every day until the 23rd, hopefully nail a 1:33 and then stream some bs 3 hour session with the world record run at the end of the stream. :nesquik:

Also, Can you make an amend to your restrictions that say Archives 16 is allowed for me? I am debating if I want to try for Archives 16 or Dam 53. I have 40 hours into Archives 16, I can't quite pull it off as easily as all you other studs.

Apparently, for me, the grind will start at 3 AM January 23rd Brazilian daylight savings.
I'll attempt a 24-hour stream (or as long as I can endure) trying to fluke Depot 25. Will probably involve coffee overdosage and lost of sanity.

also got 2 legit 1:05s and a 1:04 bug & hostages fail on Frigate 00A. 1:05 might be the best WR in the game given the odds of completion are 1 in 10,000 and you get roughly 1 1:05 fail every hour. It's a ten thousand hour time.

Got my first 156 after eight hours when Ashes told me about 2-slap leave for val: went on to dupe 156 for SA: very productive night and shall go for 155 tomorow fo'sho.

The 23rd has come and gone. With a monstrous number of hours put in by many different players on many different levels, January 23rd remains a day with no world records. Next year this day falls on a Saturday, so you bet this will get mega-hyped as well.
I'd like everyone to post their stats that they know of from the 23rd. I know Illu put in 17hr30min for Dam 0:53, Qweczol put in around 9 hours for Dam 0:53, Wouter played a bunch with Randy helping him out for stuff like Streets 1:55 and Archives 0:54s, etc.
Thanks everyone for participating. The entertainment was priceless!

I woke up, worked for 9 hours, came home, and grinded for a mere 3, switching between streets 00A 155 and S1 102 attempts. Neither of which I'm particularly good at. I played silo for the last half hour to make myself feel a bit better. :v

I put around 9 hours into Depot SA and 4 or so into Depot 00A for a total of around 13 hours of play. Had 5 A completions on SA, with one run borderline 39 pace but risked the safe and missed the docs (only to be trolled by the train guards). 0 B completions on 00, but had multiple 47 pauseouts at the train roller door and a somewhat legit 46 fail. All in all, it was fun grinding with my fellow Eliters and should I still be playing GE will definitely go hard next year as well.

m8 I played Frigate 00A for 4 hours, got THREE completely legitimate 1:05 fails. Some other 1:05s and a 1:04 with bug failed. A pile of 106s and 107s. Only had one completion; a 1:16 :nesquik:

I played around 8 hours of Archives SA, probably the most I've ever played in a single day. Got 1 legit 54 fail.

I mostly played Facility SA for 52. Invested time was about 12 hours or something. I have had probably around 8 Doaks today, ~4 52 pace runs with bad trevs, only completed one BT. Some shitty runs with the other Doaks.
One 33 pause out, many 34s overall good time spent.

Dam Agent for 53. Played for about 6.5 hours. I had seven 54s and had two accidental post-lockshot 37s and choked a possible 53 on the dam. Got super sloppy towards the end, my hands aren't used to the grind yet.

1.5 hours of assorted levels. It didn't matter too much to me because I was playing on the 24th in my time zone. I hadn't played in 2 weeks so I thought I would be rusty but I was amazed with my finesse on some levels. Guess it's just in the hand. :nesquik:

I think if I played the entire day I would have had a better chance at 0:20. Aztec SA would have had good odds too but I was too lazy to set up PAL.

Had 17 dam 53s yesterday.
Not sure what I have from before, probably around 15 but I'm keeping count on these dupes that I've gotten since I've seriously started to go for 52.
some highlights: double boost trough gates, some sick gates one of them was really mental, a couple 53s with stuck and no boost, a few sick lockshots with great lag management but I was really on a boost drought at the end.
Good amount of viewers all troughout also 30-40 in the beginning, but it was more like 50-60 closer to the end, thanks everyone for watching and everyone who hosted also.
Timer was closing in on 18 hours at the end, I took a few small breaks to eat and get coffee, probably had over an hour of non playing time there too, maybe almost 2 hours but I think roughly 16h were spent gaming, easily my longest session ever.

12am to 9 am: 9 hours of getting back into grinding Runway SA, dying most of the time experimenting (2 nade hut boost, sacrificing speed for health, 4 nade volleys :v, trying to get the key from outside the hut :kappa:). Got a 22 fail around 6 am. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReCkOkKeMSc) It was the run, perfect nades, plenty of health/boosts, just hoped that the nade blew up the battery fast enough. Sounded like it hit the tower too, maybe? Could have been the wall behind it.
5pm - 8pm: about 3 hours of mostly quitouts. Maybe a 23 dupe.
10-12am: I was in the zone. Nothing but 4 boost starts and one terrible 23 dupe (60) while trying a new nade strat (http://www.twitch.tv/hotshott41187/c/5952740).
Figured out a consistent first volley timing, which helps set up the rest. Useful to those learning Agent 22 also. Essentially it matches the time it takes Bond to go from full look down to full look up. Here's one highlight of it, with a perfect nade placement. (http://www.twitch.tv/hotshott41187/c/5952722) It can also work with 30-45 degree lookdown to lookup depending on the direction it flies. Eventually I will stop actually doing the down-up movement and just time it in my head. So I will continue studying this strat, learn to time the second and third and hopefully we should be seeing a 22 soon. :nesquik:
