Title: **GE THEORYCRAFT** - Should a level be removed when it becomes too luck based?

**DISCLAIMER**: This thread is intended to be purely friendly discussion and theory.  I do not plan on bringing any ideas brought forward to the council in the immediate future.

With Frigate 00 Agent now approaching human max, it's a good time to have this discussion. Should a level be removed when it becomes too luck based? Or when you have to play the level for 1,000 hours to cut one second? We've had this discussion before regarding the Henning scenario, but I'm interested to hear what players think about it now.

These are some arguments for REMOVING a level when it gets too luck based:

- The level does not reflect the skill of the player. Rather it reflects how degenerate the player is (anyone who plays Frigate 00 Agent for 1,000 hours with the WR strat is guaranteed to PB).

- It encourages cheating/splicing.

- It clogs up the rankings with "fake" levels, i.e. levels which require more luck than skill. Speedrunning is meant to rank players from best to worst, and Frigate does not accomplish that.

These are some arguments for KEEPING a level even when it is too luck based:

- Even if the WR requires a lot of luck, it is a level and the people with the WR should be proud of themselves for having it.

- It is a level in the game, and no matter what they should always be ranked.

There are also arguments that can be made for allowing a gameshark to be used for these levels so that luck doesn't affect the level anymore.

What do you all think?

Actually I could imagine this kinda.

I remember in twine there was some trick on a level where you had to pause and unpause for like over an hour which bcks used to get some WR with, imagine that for a GE level.

That would not be luck based nessesarily though, luck is way worse, at least patience would pay off equally if you had something like that. With luck we end up with stuff like Wouter playing 200ish hours for Frigate A 23 and then someone tieing it in like a few hours, and Wouter was not bad at Frigate in his prime, pretty sure he had like at least 8x 23 fails in a row once.

let's start by removing cradle SA / 00A, Statue Agent, Frigate 00A and go from there

LOL. I think this actually works for all TWINE levels to some extent, but yeah Cold Reception you could gain lots of time
