I fired up my old XHD last night and had some nice nostalgia looking at some old GE vids. Notably this one, one of my all time favourites, which I uploaded to Youtube:
The "Video of the Day" is a good feature, but the vids are picked somewhat randomly. Plus a lot of old videos have been uploaded to Youtube, but without original sound or music. I've been thinking of doing a stream or a long Youtube video where I show a bunch of classic videos which defined eras or were symbolic of a player's rise to the top with explanations on why they were so meaningful. The classic WRs of Boss and Wouter, the vids that upstarted Illu, Clemens, Ace, Marc's careers. Any of the TRUE CLASSICS are what I'm looking for.
So go ahead, post what you think are some of the most CLASSIC Goldeneye runs of all time! Even without links is fine. We can search for these old vids.
-
I linked the 1:52 to Illu's ranking pages.
The reason the vid isn't on mine or elitehistoricalvids channel is because of its copyright infringement (I fear my account will be deleted if I upload something with music).

If you, or anyone else, have any suggestions for VotD, please PM me!
This is a cool topic and I will be posting my favorites later.

Neat idea. Perhaps focus on one player at the time and do one episode for each (former) top player? i.e. "Episode 5: Dan Cervone", "Episode 6: Matthijs ten Ham" etc. The Top 10 best and most classic videos for each player or so. If you're gonna make only one video out of this, it'll probably end up very long.
-
-also should perhaps do one or two separate episodes dedicated to videos and times done by lower ranked players that, at the time when set, came as a shock/were very unexpected. Patrik's S2 A 51, Gragz S2 A 49, FB's Cav 00A 1:42 comes to mind.
-also untieds done by N/A or N/A-like players such as Cliff Hampton and Simon Sternis.
-the first video executing a new strat and subsequently the next untied on that level.
- the first completion on certain DLTK levels (such as Illu's Depot) are CLASSIC videos. Garrett's LTK videos (Train featuring Enter Sandman etc)
- random vids that are hilarious in one way or another
You get the idea
-
Not sure if these are classic enough, but when I joined the-elite, I used to watch tons of old videos and lots of new videos of its time.
Eddie Lovins - Bunker 1 00 Agent 1:07
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRHwodCxmM4
Boss Bunker 1 00 Agent 1:07
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E63sUQd7ySI
Goose Frigate Secret Agent 1:02 with Basshunter - Dota music :3
Tbh I think about that video when I listen it lol. Same as for Goose Cradle Secret Agent 0:36 with Boten Anna :3
Goose Silo Masterpiece classics :D Silo Agent 1:03 and Silo Secret Agent 1:10! :D
Not sure about Surface 2 if it was Goose, but I remember 'Pirate's of the Caribbean' theme aswell.
Boss' Dam Agent 0:53, Runway Agent 0:22, Runway 00 Agent 0:37
Illu's Aztec Agent 1:33 with the Banjo-Kazooie music and Illu's Aztec Agent 1:32 with Ace of Base - Beautiful Life.
And Illu's tour video with the Casino Royale music and Facility 00 Agent 0:55! Awesome!
I also watched a lot of Adam Moore's videos since I 100% know he plays PAL. Frigate 00 Agent 1:16 is what I remember the most.
Henning's Dam Agent 0:53 with the Shinobi music, and after I saw he did Frigate Secret Agent 1:12 (old old strat), I went for it and completed quite fast, those videos that were actually legit :nesquik: Also don't forget the Facility Agent 0:46 with the Crimson Tide theme! :D
Good ol' Wouter's videos, Dam Agent 0:53, Frigate Agent 0:23, Streets Agent 1:13, Depot 26/43/50
And almost all of his Turbo Mode videos he had.
Very good ol' Graham Maddocks who helped me setup AIM when I just got a computer and internet at that time, and I couldn't wait to join the-elite lol.
Dam Agent 0:53, Surface 2 Agent 0:49, Surface 2 Secret Agent 0:54.
AIM getfiling all day is a true classic aswell :3 Wouter, I'm coming for teh good ol' videos! :D
Back in 2008, I watched a lot of Your Eliteness' and Sim Threat's Perfect Dark videos when I decided to speedrun Perfect Dark too.
Pretty sure I missed many videos but oh well.
Onto LTK/DLTK classics, Garrett Sellati's LTK video's and Illu's DLTK videos are true classics.
Good ol' times <3

Karl Jobst - Train Agent 1:06
Karl Jobst - Archives Suite (55, 55, 16)
these are what got me properly into speedrunning GE
the train vid has some emo post-hardcore band, good vid
the archives vids are in black and white and have ridiculous pop music choices: Hanson mmm bop, aqua dr jones, I forget which song for the other 55..
-
Just realized I had no great videos ever. Man I suck.
-
If Karl's ego were a country, it would be larger than China and the USA combined.
Illu's Dam 00A 1:59 is another classic vid. The one in which Banjo "interrupts" the run, and where Illu addresses a crowd at the beginning of the video. Only the old school guys will know what I'm talking about; hence, why it is a classic.

OK gonna post my favorite classic videos (videos made before 2010 or so). I'll probably edit this post later as I probably forgot something. This topic actually gave me another idea; will share it later.
Keep in mind that this list is very subjective. Feel free to disagree with a few or many of these choices. Many of these videos I value purely for nostalgic reasons.

do you have Wouter's Bunker 1 00A 1:07 with original DKC final boss theme? One of his best vids, and sort of his last hurrah.
-
His 107 was actually the first vid posted in the new WR topic. That link is obviously dead now. Hopefully Axel has it or else that classic video is lost forever.
Pretty funny that you made that post, because I was thinking about that video earlier today. Really strange.
