7:00 am - Played Wii U Online and listened to music. - 3 hours
10:00 am – Browsed Youtube, 4Chan and Reddit – 3 hours
Noon – Listened to music in car - 1 hour
1:00 pm – Used Twitter and texted 1 hour
2:00 pm – Listened to music in the car 1 hour
3:00 pm – Streamed video games, listened to music, and used voice chat. 3 hours
8:00 pm – Texted, Reddit, Twitter, Skype, Youtube, Sony Vegas, Twitch. 7 hours
Analysis
The medium the I consumed the much by far was internet. This is because everything that I do with my spare time is always linked to to internet. You could even go as far to say that my live revolves around around the internet. The reason internet is such a big part of my life at the moment is because I am a content creator on Youtube. I make Youtube videos and have a good fan base that I interact with on Twitter. The amount of media I consume in a day is close to 75% internet, which includes; Youtube, Twitter, 4chan, Reddit, Twitch, and voice chat. Games is the least with 5% which is because its difficult to dedicate time when I'm so busy. Last but not least I consume music about 20% of my day. Any down time I have I'm listening to music to pass the time or relax, music is a big influence on me. I don’t use more than one medium often but I find myself using multiple of one medium regularly. This is because I'm always working on a video and I take short pauses to look at a website or message my subscribers. Sometimes I'll watch Youtube videos or Twitch while editing videos to have entertainment. It is extremely difficult to go for a long period of time without using any media because its around us all the time. There isn’t many people in America that media doesn’t consume at least 60 percent of their day. You would have to make and effort not to view media just to not consume it. I found that the internet is the hardest thing to stay away from for me. For obvious reasons it is the most media format I consume. But the real reason why is because of the videos I make videos on Youtube and my subscribers. Youtube is the thing I love to do the most and not being able to interact with your subscribers on social media and Youtube comments is hard and hurts my content. Its always good to keep your fan base informed and keep content flowing and if I didn’t spend as much time as I do, I wouldn’t grow my channel. I'm dependent on Internet because its what I love to do but the other two are also very important. Videos game were my old passion and I'll always love playing them. I enjoy games because competition is amazing and they were a big part of my childhood. Music might be the most important thing to me because it just captures me. Any time I'm working out or running or relaxing, music really motivates me. I find that music influences me and express my values in a way. Music also lets me relate to an artist when they have the same views as me.
