This may seem a bit tangential but I feel I need to delineate my experience of going to see the delectable Ms. Jepsen :kappa:

Simply put, Carly Rae Jepsen is hands down the worst live act I've seen in over 20 years of going to see gigs.
I saw her at a music festival in August 2013 in Osaka. Great weather - 39C heat, 80% humidity :nesquik: :nesquik: :nesquik:. We ended up having to leave early as two of us were suffering from heat stroke. Anyway, I digress.
The problem was that no-one knew any of her songs apart from Call Me Maybe. There's a reason for this - the rest of her songs are a load of shit.
She went rambling off in English about her asinine, irrelevant back catalogue, talking so quickly that no-one in the crowd can understand a single word she was saying. It was just one big cock tease before she finally sang the one song that people knew of hers. She probably didn't even know what country she was in at the time...just another crowd with yellow faces. No stage presence, no braincells, no atmosphere, no interest, no nothing. 0.001/10

The fact that that kind of shit music is like bubblegum is the exact reason why you should ditch em asap. You'll hear enough of them on shit parties while you're chatting up hot chicks. I spent a week at the beach house with only radio as audio source and thank god I don't even follow mainstream music. Barely 1 in 12 songs are worth it.
And yeah, we're all past that 2010-thing when it was cool to make fun of basement dweller metalheads who despise mainstream music, and their even-more-terrible music tastes.
