Title: at this pace
Post by: 50 on April 24, 2015, 12:42:59 am
it's going to be the 1st year without a GoldenEye untied

(considering Untied: Surface 1 - A - 1:01 by Ryan Wright is fake ofc)
and not even talking about PD

It will happen. We're only a third of the way through the year.

Has anyone tried s2 sa open door strat yet? Would be interesting to know if it's just a massive completion grind or if it's difficult time-wise as well.

The TAS strat shoots during the (mainframe room) cinema to lure a guard which opens the first two doors. On console he would block you more often than not I think.

Apropos, there was a discussion with Boss in twitch chat about the TAS strat for Cradle 00A 0:32 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTafBzc5RcI&t=28m) being reasonable for Cradle A (without the extra boost nade ofc), it actually seems a lot simpler than 35 on 00A. Not sure about how accurate this trick is (Henrik's opinion = most welcome) and how reasonable 33 speed is; one would probably dupe a zillion 34s. Someone should really test the waters. Even a proof-of-concept console vid of a ~35 with cheats would be a cool start.

has anyone tried SpiderWaffle's Frigate SA throwing a grenade through the wall to save the 2 basement hostages strat?

has anyone tried the Silo 1 pause throwing plastiques through the walls into the other rooms strat?

has anyone *really* tried S1 SA/00A getting the guards to open the hut doors strat? (hasn't been tested since 2010 iirc)

has anyone tried the Statue "freeze Trev" and run back to the chopper while still talking to him strat?

has anyone tried the Archives "get the FR out of the safe before talking to Mishkin" strat?

has anyone tried the Streets "skip Val's speech" strat?

has anyone tried the Train warp into the unloading zone, then reload the zone strat?

has anyone tried Trent's circuit board strat?

maybe we're not half as good as we think we are.

I kinda think that too. Either Ace decides to degen it or 24 is gonna be the next 39. Potential untied but people just won't get it.

But KEEP THE DREAM ALIVE! :v

yes, the point of life is to put yourself in situations where there is a positive outcome for you no matter what happens.  Putting yourself in win-win situations is what intelligent men who succeed, do.  Karl taught me this, and the way some of these threads are going I see why he bounced the hell out of here.

Title: Re: at this pace

this is entirely thanks to BRIO honestly

if BRIO doesn't post this thread, Squrp and TaylorTot don't start exploring the Depot warp more.  If the Depot warp doesn't hit, Icy doesn't explore PD.

If BRIO doesn't post this thread we DO INDEED go 1 year without any untied.

KING BRIO!

Yeah right? What a disturbed fucked up way to interpret good advice... I guess that's what tabloid pop culture does to people.
