A competitive skill>luck game, with an amazing community full of partyboy positive teens, a company who doesnt treat it like an eSport the way it should, and the official live broadcasted matches have terrible comentators.
Seriously, couldn't this get any better? Keep looking at the floor and resetting if artificial intelligence don't do what you want, speedLOSERS!

I still laugh watching this :rollin: the truth is, any PvP form of competition will be more 'glorious' than speedrunning.
On PvP you gotta dominate the game, adjust your play style to the metagame tendencies and there's a whole human element to the matches (prediction, level thinking, planning the endgame etc). The "grind" consists of spamming a bunch of matches against random/good players, with new things happening in each one of them. So the array of possibilities goes to infinity, making the environment more interesting on most games...
Meanwhile in speedrunning, it all comes down on choosing a strat, depending on the time you wanna get, and playing the exact same thing over and over. Literally NOTHING ELSE than that.
Thank god or whatever you believe in (or idk, your mom) for speedrunning a game with a actually decent community, no matter what bs drama occurs. Remember that there are tons of people who can't see the world outside of twitch.
