Dear Goose,
I saw your rant, and some of the other things you have said. If you feel like you are a waste, you are not. Raising money for cancer is admirable. If you think you are wasting your life, there are plenty of ways to be successful.
1.) You can attend a two year college, and possibly receive financial aid if you apply for it.
2.) You can join the police force.
3.) If all else fails, you can join the military and hopefully join the least dangerous unit.
I considered my backup plan if I do not receive a job after college to be joining the military. Would I? I do not know. If you cannot attend college, joining the army will guarantee you can.
Age does not matter when it comes to any of these options.
I have been a fan of yours for years, and it upsets me to see you so unhappy and aggravated all the time. You live in an apartment/house. Whether that is with someone or not, that is already a sign of success. You have managed enough not to be homeless.
If being successful requires you to speed run less or not at all, then do it. It would be sad for you to go, but your happiness comes first.
As far as girls go, yes a girl would sleep with a speed runner. Look, girls don't like being referred to as hot bitches. I am not saying I am offended. To pick up girls, you just have to show your personality. If I met a nice guy who speed runs, yes I would go out with him. This is coming from a girl who has played games for years. Personality matters the most to some or even many women. You are not a degenerate, and neither are other speed runners. Having a hobby does not make someone a degenerate.
A degenerate is someone who abuses people, etc. They are bad people. When I think of a degenerate, I think of a drug addict that robs their family. Smoking pot does not make you a degenerate.
I have been playing games all of my life. At several points in my life, I have not even had friends. Gaming has helped me, and even though I put hours into gaming, I still managed to attend College. I am a Sophomore in College, and no matter how said I was, I strove to try to succeed. There is always a chance to make your life better, especially in your twenties.
All of my "friends" (I am not sure if I can consider them that anymore, I have to wait until I see them during the semester) play, and are possibly addicted to Super Smash Bros on the Wii U. Many of them get bad grades, but my other friends and I get A's. It depends on what you focus on.
All I am saying is, If you want to be successful, you can. I hope you find happiness. You are my favorite speed runner. Through the states of depression I have dealt with, I managed to get my life in order due to support, and my desire to get passed it.

There have been at least a half dozen girls who 'wanted" me and "wanted to come to AGDQ" at least partly to fuck me, but ended up flaking out (as girls do.)
You're right I need to learn how to close with online women, but when the only guys who have "success" closing are those who spend $2k to fly out to the girls' locations, or those who send the girls who they've never met $2k to fly out to their place, I think I'm OK with letting these opportunities slide.
