Work: i7-4790, SSD, 16 GB RAM
Home: i5-4570, SSD, 8 GB RAM, RAID 1 (Mirror) between two 2TB HDD for dat precious data, GTX 960, big ass CPU fan, "be quiet! Straight Power" PSU (click for pic without graphics card (https://i.imgur.com/e9vxKl2.jpg))
The bigger the fan the more silent actually, and it looks sick too, best ~28€ investment of my life. A good and silent PSU is a must too for me. Having a really quiet PC is sooo nice and it's just a few extra bucks.
What's up with some of you nerds having >90°C temperature? My stuff had 27°C idle, 47°C max when it was new and around 32°C idle nowadays. If you choose the degen way of life, at least have your electronics in good condition, imo.

yeah i got around to cleaning years of dust from my cpu, no more 105c now
-
My MB screams at me if I get over 70°C. I'm pretty sure my desk would catch fire @ 100°C.
-
I could fry kebabs on my motherboard if the CPU temperature hit 100 C.
-
I can cook chicken on my Macbook Pro and not have to worry about getting Salmonella.

Corsair K70 Cherry
Logitech MX15
Coolermaster HAF X blue
Steelseries Siberia v2
Edit: threw up a pic of the setup. I really don't like the red PCI-E/VGA cables, but that was the only option with the PSU. Think I'll resleeve them black soon.

Thanks - it's been a slow process. You're looking at about 5 years of gradually upgrading - and pretty soon I think I'm gonna have to move on from the 2600K, but it's been such a nice chip...
Edit: Just noticed it's saying my old SSD is running at a cool 128 C - clearly an error.

Wow, two cooperating 980 Ti? Those things already cost $1.4k, prolly considerably more when you got them, right? :D
Are you one of these guys who needs to run the newest games with 200fps on a 4K monitor?
EDIT: How much was your i7-2600K when you got it? It seems to cost >$630 still, and it's almost 5 years old, dafuq. Did you overclock that bitch to like 4.5 GHz?

I got both of them for around $1000 total, but then was able to sell my 780s for $350 each, so if you look at it like that... :)
The 2600K was $310 when I bought it, which was nearly the same time it came out, and it's held it's price pretty well throughout the years. I think Amazon's price for it up until very recently was still around $300... not sure what's happened to that though. I started out overclocking it to 5ghz, just to see if it was stable on air @ 1.32 vcore (yeah, I got a great chip!), and turns out it was, so I left it there for a couple years. I've turned it back to 4.6ghz since.

Alright Light, sounds like you made some pretty good deals :) Wow 5 GHz! Poor guy who bought two outdated cards for $700 ^^
