As confirmed by poll and posts, this group of people is toxic as fuck. 60% of you think it's 'funny' and 'entertaining' to see a top playing who works hard in this community to be publicly bashed. You're fucking pathetic.

Luke, you are a great guy. Nice, smart, have a lot of talent. I know this not just from online communication but also when I met you. This is why it's important for me to say this.
Read the posts in Marc's topic, read the posts in the poll topic, count how many people stand up for you when you are publicly abused. NONE. Why? Because these people are NOT YOUR FRIENDS. They do not give a fuck about you. In fact as we see they think it's 'entertaining' when someone attacks you. Seriously man listen to what I'm saying, they are not nice people.
Do not judge your friends by how pleasant you think they are when you are chilling around in mumble or whatever. Judge your friends by how they stick up for you when you need it. Judge them by how they care about you when you are feeling like shit. The people you chat with on twitch and these boards and the guys that you met up with at AGDQ you might think are decent people because they are fun to hang with (sometimes). But these are the same people who bust out the popcorn memes and say shit like 'This is great, the boards have been dull lately' when Marc starts attacking you. You really want to be around the kinds of people that treat you like this?
It is because I respect you and think you are capable of a lot that I say you need to MOVE ON. Stop wasting time on 64 and hanging around these pathetic losers and start communicating with more decent people. I think in 5 years you may look back and regret the time that you spend here. You love music so buy a piano and start playing that. Or start a hobby where there are friendlier and more decent human beings.
I'm 100% serious and I hope deeply you consider what I'm saying.

Don't be so dramatic Karl. Marc has been bashing everyone. I haven't seen anyone standing up when he tried to publicly bash me multiple times. I don't expect anyone to do so and neither should Luke because it's an Internet forum.
We all know that luke is an amazing and interesting guy and that Marc is a soon to be homeless, mentally handicapped delusional waste of talent. Nothing new here.

I don't recall you sticking up for me when Marc attacked me either but it certainly didn't bother me because Marc's not even remotely accurate, reasonable, or intelligent in his tirades.

They all hate Luke? Come on man where the hell did this come from? Absolutely no where did I ever say anyone hated luke. I said they weren't his friends and they don't really care about him. This one single completely messed up sentence should really trouble you. You pluck shit out of thin air. But aside from that insane leap you just made, 'standing up' doesn't mean rise to the bait. It means the mods delete the topics and posts. The mods/admin ban his account because it's so blatantly fucked up how he posts. I can't think of another community that so willingly lets someone posts this shit against other users.

Two things. 1. I don't like you and I don't want to be your friend. You consistently put words in my mouth (as pointed out) which would make anyone dislike you. Though I detest when Marc or anyone posts such hateful and harmful messages towards anyone and I've always said I wanted him banned. and 2. I don't think anyone on this board has been more vocal about banning and getting rid of Marc's shit. So don't come back at me and say I don't stand up to this shit, which is so far from the truth.
I don't make this post just for the sake of being aggressive. But I know that you don't WANT to be putting words in people's mouths or making false assumptions. I love arguments if points are made with at least a moderate level of comprehension and thought. But if you throw around nonsense it's really upsetting to me.

I've been on a lot of internet forums and none would let someone post things as fucked up as Marc does against other users. This has nothing to do with the fact that it's an internet forum because there are A LOT of very nice, very friendly environments that would ban the likes of Marc in a second. The fact that you don't care that people are allowed to abuse other players in such a way doesn't mean it should be tolerated, it just speaks to your standards of what you think a forum should be.. which is obviously insanely low.

Thanks for the explanation Karl. I don't doubt that I engage in hyperbole but usually I'm just trying to cut to the chase. In this instance I think "hate Luke" is a fair summary of the below quote. Albeit, it is possible that my idea of "hate" is wider than yours, encompassing both a passive as well as an active attitude.
Like I said, I honestly don't care if Marc is banned or not. In fact, I'm more inclined to take a harder stance against such behavior than you are. But I'd be amazed if anyone takes him as anything other than a freak show at this point, so being entertained by it is not equivalent to not caring about Luke, not being Luke's friend, or not being a nice person.

It doesn't matter how crazy someone is I would never be entertained or find it funny when one of my friends is abused. That entire concept is fucked up to me. No matter how anyone cuts it, I think it's pathetic and I wouldn't associate with people like that. I don't care how harmless anyone thinks it is, I would never stand for it and I wouldn't give anyone who thinks that way my respect.
It's definitely not hate though. The intention of users here is not a negative one. They just don't understand how things affect people. Like do you, or other people realise that this DID affect Luke? Everyone here is so fucking high and mighty saying they aren't affected by things. Good for YOU. But people here need a reality check. Because people DO get affected and no one gives a shit. To summarise.. Luke DID get affected in a negative way by Marc's fucked up abusive posts. How do people respond? By laughing about it, saying how entertaining it is, joking around. The topic should have been deleted and Marc banned, plain and simple. This is a reminder of how truly unhealthy this community is, in my opinion at least.
I will say with no hesitation most people here are not nice people. My standards for someone being nice will be different to yours though I'm sure. I also think whether or not people care is more based on how they act rather than how they feel. People here may feel like they care for others but as we see when it comes down to shit like this they will act like they couldn't care less if people around here have to deal with this. It's moments like this you know if someone is nice or not.
You can say all you want about how crazy Marc is but he's one of the best GE players ever. All of the top GE will respect Marc on some level because of the impact he's had on the game, and this is especially true for someone like Luke who has devoted a lot of time to the game and I guarantee has at some time looked up to Marc a lot. Therefore it is completely naturally for someone to be upset about the way Marc is acting, especially if it's directed towards them.
Anyways, I could keep going on but just remember. A top player and a nice guy is abused on these boards and most people think it's a fucking joke. Which is why, hopefully, this is my last post.

well good point, but let me ask you why you get all dramatic over Marc just now. He has had the same bullshit attitude against many other people before he went apeshit against Luke

I think it comes down to the toughguy attitude and many guys never getting to learn how to be vulnerable, it's just like you are a man and you should not cry kind of thing.
It is unhealthy and I think it's very very common in society overall not just this community, just watch how men are portrayed everywhere and what is pushed in the media about how male relationships should be like. Like we're being made out to look like fools, calling each other dumb cunts or pussy or gay or whatever in this kind of way that's meant to be comical in some way, you know what I'm saying everyone does this at times and has at some point been exposed to this as a man.
Now maybe it has it's place I don't know but when it's this constant trolling, bashing which is very common when men are competitive with each other it can sometimes be hard to see for many where it's gone too far you know. I mean I know because I suspect I myself sometimes lose track at times where the line should be drawn or if we as men should totally revaluate our relationships with each other.
The good things I think that has come from the terms that we've used in our community like "degen" and "irrel" for example is that it has in some ways kind of even more pushed me to try to fix my sort of "real life" instead of spending way too many hours on speedrunning. Which is ultimately what I've wanted for ages and been trying for long but maybe I give up too easy in the outside world when challenges arise.
