Yeah the chances of a new job searching for you, saying "hey this idiot joined the-elite, an obscure gaming community! No way we can hire him!" is virtually zero.

Not to mention, your name, Stephen Hicks, is incredibly common and you can easily just deny this being you.  "It must be a different Stephen Hicks."  You don't even have a picture or other personal information uploaded so the connection is literally impossible to make.

You're really freaked out over nothing.

"Hey Bob, what about that Stephen Hicks kid?"

"Never, he doesn't even have Dam 53"

Seriously, if you think that you wouldn't get a job because the interviewer *somehow* googled your name and *somehow* found a website called the-elite that contains goldeneye speedruns, you don't deserve that job in the first place. You don't deserve any job at all, to be honest. I wish you applied for something in a company that I was responsible for. I would shut down your ass and red-tag you on all major companies of the similar activity that would consider hiring you. Slow down on your ego issues for a bit buddy, you're not unique, you're not a special little snowflake. Stop being a huge egotistical cry baby.

Go F. yourself.

Yeah agreed with Spec honestly. It's pretty pathetic to thing, epecially with a common name, that you "wouldn't get a job because your name appeared on a video game website."

If Luke Szklarz for example was running for Parliament in Australia, I can see him worrying, for instance.  Though it's 2015 and you almost have to embrace your online footprint now. So long as you personally haven't tweeted any really offensive shit like "I hate blak ppl" or "u suck I wish ur mom used a coat hanger" then generally speaking, you're fine.

There have been ~12 candidates who stepped down over online crap for this upcoming election here in Canada.  Unless you're talking really offensive shit and running for federal politics, no one cares.
