Title: *** The 2016 Prediction Topic For GoldenEye 007, the-elite, and THE WORLD! ***
Post by: RWG on December 30, 2015, 06:27:54 pm
From last year's topic:  http://forums.the-elite.net/index.php?topic=19973.msg415488

2012 saw the revival of GoldenEye when Goose and I returned and streaming speedruns on Twitch became mainstream. 100% became popular among top players, Facility saw a new strat that led to an entire second being cut on all three difficulties, people started to stream and there were 15 seconds of untieds. 2013 was arguably better with GoldenEye making its first ever appearance in a GDQ, 11 strong untieds happening throughout the year, an exponential increase in the game's popularity and an influx of players. In 2014, we saw two groundbreaking strategies that cut over 10 seconds from the total time, 20 seconds of untieds, 186 total world records (for the record, the number hasn't been that high since 2007 which was probably the most popular year for the game in the Elite's history), and an even greater increase in the game's playerbase, including top, rising players like Justin.

The game is getting more popular by the day and instead of the game getting closer to maxed we're breaking more records. Will this trend continue in 2015 or will we finally see a dead-year after a 3-year streak of crazy activity? Post what you THINK will happen in 2015, in this thread. This is different from the Sylvester Tip in that you can post whatever you think will happen as opposed as what records will happen.

For example, something like:

- New OOB strategy on Train, 25 seconds cut from the total time;
- Marc gets an untied sweep on Aztec;
- Jimbo still struggles to beat Caverns 00 Agent 1:36 in December;
- Clemens runs GoldenEye 100% at SGDQ 2015, gets 1:02:xx;
- Lockwood becomes extremely active and gets a subscriber button on Twitch;
- MH370 is found;

2015 was a strange year at the elite.  AGDQ 2015 was a complete failure for both the elite and the rest of the speedrunning community.  Speedrunning as we know it almost completely died, all of the top speedrunners left to play Super Mario Maker for 8000 viewers nightly, the middlemen of speedrunning left to be top tier in Splatoon and here at the-elite, it was the slowest year since the beginning of the Twitch streaming renaissance.  Wodahs surpassed all expectations, reaching 6th place (but no untieds) and for the first time since 2005, yours truly is not in the Top 10.  Ace and Clemens killed it with some insane untieds (as usual,) Marc continued his descent into insanity, and more or less everyone had at least one revelation and reflection on the futility of speedrunning, gaming, and life altogether.  On the positive, many new players continued to join the ranks or achieve their first WRs, many of which were very solid.  Some new strategies were found, and while quiet, the community is cruising along, stable as ever.  Berube's Dam 53 was removed which caused Come to leave the community, so hey, it was a pretty damn good year after all.

Last year we had some notably awesome predictions, including

- Mattei gets an insane ratio on Runway SA and skips to 0:21 which results in the construction of a religious statue of him in Asia

- Noone's quality of stream improves. Goose remains the only one partnered with 25k followers and the rest of us stream boring runs with the normal 5-20 viewers.
- MH370 is found.
- 1:41:xx happens in 120 star. 70 star WR is improved but still remains 48:xx.
- Alex gets Train Agent 1:01 on one of his finest runs of his GE career.
- m8, :nesquik:, degen, irrel, etc. still remain popular.

2015:
38. Cosmo comes clean in December and reveals that he is in fact Denis Lucid. Unhoards 60/60 WR for PD.

So close!

Jackafur proposes to KittyRawr live at AGDQ2015 after his Mischief Makers run.  She says yes, but the wedding is called off before the end of the year.

No wedding scheduled or taken place yet, so... accurate?

Call it the Jeane Dixon effect.  Call it whatever you want.  Let's make some more hilarious predictions and see who gets the most correct (or most hilarious) before 2016!

Good topic continuing the same tradition as in 2015. I will post my predictions soon.

- As always, Goose remains the only partnered streamer with 20k+ followers, while the other continue to put zero effort into their streams leaving them with the usual 5-20 viewers.
- Clemens spends New Year one 9 hour session grinding Extraction PA. Just as the clock is about to strike 00:00, he's on a run where he's a Rocket Launcher shot away from 1:25. Unfortunately he misses the shot, rages hard and throws his N64 right into the CRT, smashing it. The video goes viral on r/videos and the gaming community in general and makes Clemens a speedrun celebrity.
- Karl makes another comeback with an insane Villa SA 1:14 out of the blue. He moves onto PA but Clemens snipes a 1:23, causing a feud between the two and Karl to retire once again.
- Ace STILL doesn't make an Aztec Agent tutorial, citing reasons such as "the game is irrel", "people already know how to play Aztec now" and "meh, can't be bothered". Eliters then start a "BringBackCuteAce" petition, which gets 100+ signatures but still accomplishes nothing.
- "scrambled" replaces "fried" and "cooked" as the hot new word.
- Goose grinds Streets Agent again some time in summer. After 120 hours, he manages a 1:12.05 but no runs after that. He moves onto other levels, but he's too washed and quits speedrunning altogether, contemplating starting a career as a speedrun commentator.
- Luke finally starts a TTYD playthrough after a lot of convincing from Ace, Swiss and dsx. However, only into the Prologue he has a hard time with the controls and throws the game in the trash LIVE on stream, calling it "the worst game I've ever played".
- AGDQ 2016, not surprisingly, becomes a disappointment for all Eliters who attend it. It is later decided that no Eliters will attend a 'GDQ again, and the new Elite meets are held in a gym in Minnesota.
- Eise abruptly gets into a fit of rage after attending a customer's call who asks how to turn on his laptop. He gets fired from his job, which actually turns out to be a blessing in disguise as he later becomes a manager at Telia making triple the money.
- Spec continues to make 0/10 board names.
- Qweczol starts a Paper Mario: Sticker Star playthrough after finishing Super Paper Mario. He finds the game so bad and disappointing he throws his 3DS in the trash.
- Eric becomes a Rocket League superstar. He participates in an ESL Gaming Go4RocketLeague cup, wins $20,000 and becomes a pro eSports player. However it is later discovered he used a hack and Steam bans his account permanently.
- Ace, dsx and Luke are all set for a December 2016 Dubai meet. When Ace arrives at Abu Dhabi airport, Luke messages he can't come, making him win "Turncoat of the Year" award. Ace gets furious and cuts all contact with Luke until a random day in 2019 when Ace meets him at a Red Rooster in Melbourne.
- Marc momentarily returns with a few days of 100% streams but disappears into oblivion again shortly afterwards.
- Icy discovers an OoB trick on Train that skips the locks. Swiss snipes the first untied, but Clemens later maxes the record at an insane 0:45. Ace still has a 68 pointer 0:59 despite most players asking him to play and gain back GE relevance. He also drops to 3rd place, behind Clemens and Luke.
- Puncayshun lowers the 120 star WR to 1:39:04 on what most speedrunners consider "run of the century". cheese05, realising he has no shot at beating the record, moves onto Super Mario Sunshine and cakes the any% WR there.
- Siglemic remains the washed up player he is and accomplishes nothing this year. Generally speaking the speedrunning community becomes exponentially irrelevant.
- Birdie repeats the same mistake as his "S2 Not 0:47" on a one in a million Dam 0:52 run with a 3:0 ratio. He flies past the bungee jump because he's engrossed in some conversation with his Twitch viewers. However because Birdie is chill and one of the few normal Eliters, he remains relaxed and just laughs it off.
- Jimmy Bauer and Icy both get Frigate 0:23 this year, making Luke go on so much tilt he starts a petition to remove Frigate from the rankings. Unfortunately the only others to agree with this are Goose and Ace and the petition is immediately shot down. Luke continues to play Frigate throughout the year, only to get a 0:23 bug fail.
- Troubleclef, sick of all the hatred towards him as a proof mod, decides to resign from his "unpaid, unfriendly" job.
- Jimbo passes Bryan Bosshardt before the end of the year and wins the "Most Improved GE player of the decade" 2016 award.
- Donald J Trump gets elected as the US President and declares speedrunning a degenerate activity and BANS Games Done Quick, citing the Crash 2 run from AGDQ 2015 as proof speedrunners are abnormal and can potentially become dangerous people.
- Clemens posts a dick pic meant for Jessica in the WhatsApp group. The pic later becomes more infamous than the naked Jimbo pushup pic.
- OHMSS receives his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Vienna and launches a startup IT company which becomes so successful that he makes more money than the rest of the Elite combined. He donates a portion to the Elite Mansion fund.
- Clemens invites a bunch of Eliters to Indonesia for his wedding with Jessica. However due to some unforeseen circumstances, the marriage is postponed. Some rumors are spread that he has ended his relationship, but these are later confirmed to be false.
- VA 2016 becomes a massive flop as usual. Dan Edeen and Jimbo get into a massive fight because of silly item luck in MK64.
- Alec gets Silo Agent 1:01 on an insane run. His BPM'ometer at the end of the run reads 180.
- Goose starts a new Elite podcast talking about speedrunning and gaming in general. It becomes very successful and he averages 1k viewers per podcast.
- Wouter grinds for Defection 0:05. He gets 145 6s before it, and makes a video of each one. Clemens gets embarrassed by not having 5 and starts grinding. Unfortunately he gets sick of the level and fails to get it once again.
- Jezz Savage becomes a rising GE player. No untieds but a handful of good WRs and PRs. He makes it to 12th by 31st December, 2016.
- Mirror and Qweczol become so good at CS:GO they are invited to Cloud 9 and compete in ESL One, Germany. They make it to the QF and win $25,000.

Sakuya A. does not pass Taka to become the new Japanese champ, but he gets at least 2 WRs and enters Top 50.
Surface 2 A 0:51 becomes a pointless time (exactly 10 years ago, the WR was 0:52!).
Silo 00A 2:00 becomes pointless.
Control 4:08/4:33/4:50 all become pointless times.
Caverns 00A 3:00 becomes pointless.
Egypt 0:50/0:52/0:53 all becomes pointless times.

Due to an influx of high quality Paper Mario streams, Ace never gets around to applying for any internships and is left jobless for the summer. Instead, he returns to twitch where he gets decent viewers on his main perfectace account despite low stream quality and a lack of interaction with the irrels in his chat.  Just as he is about to get partner, though, the summer ends and ace never streams to the channel again.

On a one-off throwaway run, Birdie manages to find a strat to warp through the Aztec glass. Of course, being Birdie, he is too busy talking to chat to actually notice this and quits out before looking at his LCD screen. Birdie remains unaware of the new strat he found until JustinDT posts an untied sweep of Aztec hours later.

After arriving at the GDQ hotel early, Spec becomes great friends with the SDA/GDQ staff. Using his Brazilian charm and pick-up artist charisma, he becomes a high level volunteer within the organization.  He soon learns the inner secrets behind the scam that is GDQ, and threatens to expose them to the community at large unless he is duly compensated.  Spec becomes the head of the South American equivalent of GDQ, and is paid a 10% flat fee of funds raised for Autism Awareness, the charity of choice for its marathon.  After several years, though, Spec comes down with a mysterious case of strep throat and is never heard from again.

Austin manages to get Destroy All Humans into SGDQ 2016, where he pulls a GamePro after dying in Area 42 three straight times.  While he is shunned from the speedrunning community, his now viral run helps Austin to launch his own storm-chasing livestream channel, quickly becoming a cult hit with several reddit front page videos.

In an attempt to return to streaming, Goose begins to run OoT.  While he draws a large amount of viewers and forms great relationships with both summit and clint, he can't resist the urge to troll.  Goose uses his new-found capital in the community to demand all official runs be played on N64 only, ruining the current any% route in the progress.  The speedrunning community is torn apart, multiple /r/speedrun post reach #1 on /r/subredditdrama, and even major news websites have small writeups about the bullying and doxing on both sides, calling it GamerGate 2.0.  Glover is doxed in the process, but due to his utter lack of employment VC nerds can do nothing to damage him IRL.

Despite a recent surge in viewers, Clemens suddenly starts to stream with his webcam pointed at his TV once again, chasing his viewers away. He claims that his capture card suddenly stopped working, and doesn't feel like buying another one just to stream. In November, someone finally suggest checking to see if it is plugged into the computer, which it is not.

Puncayshun's socially unaware antics finally go to far, and his stream is banned due to excessive racism and general shitposting from text to speech donations. He is forced by his family to get a job at the Hot Topic store in the St. Matthews Mall, where he is recognized at a rate that disturbs him deeply.

With the flexibility of online classes and the itch to get away from his family for a while, Qweczol joins Glover as an official campaign staffer for Donald Trump in Virginia.  For months they work to Make America Great Again, and Trump wins the state by a razor thin margin.  Their unorthodox methods to register new voters and bring them to the polls are used in political science case studies for decades to come.

JustinDT, trying out a new modem throw strat, ties Dam 00A 155 on his alt account.  Sadly, he is not recording and drops almost half of the frames, due to his terrible internet, thus his run is not accepted onto the rankings. Justin is not seen for the rest of the year, creating an entirely new account to grind Super Mario Sunshine 20 Shines on exclusively.

Marc makes his return with news that his “Truth Contest” postings were just part of a plot to obtain more NEET bux from his government by appearing to be completely psychotic.  It is a complete success, and Marc returns to streaming with a highlight of 100% races vs Ace and Clemens during the summer. He goes on to write an underground book about how to maximize your NEET bux as much as possible using morally degenerate methods, and it is received as a Bible of sorts in the speedrunning community at large.

Sammy Rodgers ties Statue 218 A, leading to an unprecedented meetup request by Jimmy Bauer.  Sammy shows up to the address, and before he knows what hit him he wakes up in a bathtub full of ice with one less kidney. The only other thing left in the building is a small CRT with a 00A 2:17 endscreen showing. Taped to it is a piece of paper with “ :pimp:” as the only writing on it.

AGDQ 2016 is the first to raise less money than the previous marathon, leading to tensions between GDQ staff and the PCF. Threatened with a salary cut, GDQ staff make changes to future marathons that even the biggest nuthuggers despise.  A new marathon emerges as the new main meetup spot for runners, but that marathon is not N.A.S.A. SDA shuts down in shame and everyone pretends they were always against the way GDQ was run.  Nobody learns anything.

After the election of Donald Trump, twitch sees an unprecedented surge in right wing chatters and streamers.   A few rouge admins cannot handle this, and go on a banning spree to make them “Feel the Bern”.  They underestimate the support Trump has online, though, and twitch is attacked by spam bots that won't shut up about how the admins are, quote, “cucks”.  Twitch relents after tons of bad publicity and unbans those affected, but refuses to apologize in a passive aggressive press release maintaining their position against Making America Great Again. Despite all of this, still nobody moves to Hitbox.

Awesome preds so far, Ace and Glover!  Looking forward to seeing more roll in over the next few days.  Here are mine:

GAMING:

AGDQ 2016 takes place and is critically panned by the community for the fourth straight event.  However, the mainstream praises the event and it is a commercial success, raising nearly $2M through questionable bookkeeping.  There is no end in sight for the GDQ franchise and SGDQ goes ahead as normal.  Mike Uyama is still “sick” leading to more conspiracies surrounding his death, net worth and current country of residence.

To avoid mishaps like that at AGDQ 2015, members of the elite order in or eat hotel bar food as much as possible.  They become disgusted after eating bar pizza for the 4th night in row.  The one time they do decide to take two cars and go out to dinner, one of them gets lost.  They vow to never discuss this again, lest Goose find out and tease them endlessly once more.

To the surprise of everyone, Nintendo announces the Splatoon World Championships with a $250k prize pool.  The SRL team lead by 2dos makes it to the semifinals.  Goose and Qweczol, who gave up on the game last summer, lament what could have been if they only stuck with the family friendly shooter full time.

Overwatch becomes essentially the new Call of Duty and the streams of the game are a complete shitshow.  It instantly becomes the most commercial eSport with tons of sponsorship money from companies like Monster, Frito-Lay and Toyota.  The community is considered the most toxic in gaming history, and outside of politics and religion, possibly the world.

A viral, anonymous campaign is started and promulgated by Goose, Glover and others, asking if anyone will ever receive a “million dollar donation” on Twitch.  It becomes a meme of sorts, and late in the year, after a series of increasingly huge donations in the hundreds of thousands to multiple streamers, Summit1G receives a $1million donation from a Saudi prince.

Team Archon's signing of ClintStevens sets a precedent where eSports teams begin to sign speedrunners, variety streamers, and essentially anyone to their teams.  eSports shifts away from competition to more showcasing, acting like model or talent agencies.  The “e-celebrity” phenomenon hits a saturation point when most streamers are selling more merchandise than US Presidential candidates, and TheMexicanRunner's guacamole bowl outsells Jeb Bush's tenfold.

Much to the chagrin of the-elite, no one gets particularly good at Rocket League, with Eric being the highest performing player.  He competes in some local tournaments, making the finals once or twice, earning $300.  No other eliters have any other notable results in the game.

A first of its kind website, combining the gaming element of Twitch and sex element of Chaturbate is launched.  Women can stream League of Legends while topless and have donation incentives to undress.  Thousands of college aged girls throughout North America and Europe begin to earn $25 000 or more nightly, mostly from Asian and Arabic donors, ending the recession in the western world.

ELITERS:

Alec meets a very attractive girl at the gym who swoons over his physique and “nice guy” personality.  After a few dates, her interest wanes, much to the confusion of Alec.  He'll never know, but the reason behind her disinterest is Alec's overly open Facebook posts detailing his personal life, his past relationships, as well as other nonsense.  Tough luck.

Continuing his self improvement lifestyle, Ryan Lockwood meets a girl whom he is instantly attracted to in person.  Love at first sight.  This reignites his passion for women, he pursues her romantically for a few weeks and they have great sex.  The two have a mature, well adjusted relationship lasting throughout the year.  Lockwood's porn addiction is cured!

Luke Szklarz hits a niche on Twitch with his jigsaw puzzle streaming.  It becomes entirely allowed on Twitch (or allowed through loopholes) and Luke regularly gets 50+ viewers making puzzles.  He lacks the regularity and marketing aptitude to get the viewers for partner, but is completely satisfied with being known as “The Puzzle King” of Twitch.

While surfing in Perth, Izzy Szklarz gets noticed by a manager at IMG Models.  Taking lessons learned from Essensa O'Neill, she opts not to be an Instagram model, but rather ends up in the 2016 Victoria's Secret Fashion show, becoming good personal friends with Megan Puleri and Taylor Marie Hill.  Her occasional appearances on Luke's stream add to his own folklore-like notoriety on Twitch.

Wodahs buys a high quality telescope after earning regular income from a decent, full time job.  He streams looking through the telescope under “Creative” and on a clear August night, seems to discover a new asteroid.  He brushes it off “it's probably nothing” only for another amateur astronomer to “discover” it two days later.  This discovery prompts articles in The Scientific American, Space.com and other science outlets.

Narcissa ups the quality of content on her stream to 2012 levels partway through the new year.  Great Smash Bros and speedrunning analysis restore the channels' reputation and it is widely acclaimed on Twitch.  Narcissa is named “Gaming's Woman of the Year” in several gaming media outlets, causing some controversy, though considerably less than that of Caitlyn Jenner, because as many put it “at least Narcissa was a woman for the entire year.”

Austin Perroux goes to the town fair and tries the “be a weatherman” booth.  His 40 second weather report, calling for tornadoes and torrential floods goes viral because of his unique looks and delivery style.

Rayan I. continues to throw around promises and aspirations like “I will stream this summer,” “I will try to move to USA this year,” “I might be able to attend AGDQ 2017” but they are all empty words and nothing new happens in his life.

Johnnboy makes some funny Goldeneye videos but none of his projects aimed at wider audiences come to fruition, leading him to have another very average year.

While Whatsapp remains the most popular messaging services in the wold, Telegram becomes a close second contender.  The Whatsapp divides in the community are united in one Telegram group where everyone gets along happily and harmoniously.

The Truth Contest becomes recognized as an international terrorist organization, leading Marc Rutzou to be put on several watch lists.  On the one day of the year he decides to leave his apartment, police take notice and evacuate the nearby train stations.  Nothing further transpires, Marc returns to his apartment with his McDonalds and does his dishes for the second time that year.

Comeasur continues to have no contact with the elite, still bitter about him having no power in the Berube 53 decision, however Jimbo tells us all the story of his year.  After Come's girlfriend Dayle, who had her tubes tied years ago, decides she does want children after all.  Dayle & Come adopt a black baby from Africa and Come has to work extra shifts at Walmart to pay for the diapers, leading us to dub Come “The Cuck of the Year.”

Eise SMIT and his girlfriend also adpot a non-white child and raise her thanks to support from the government of Sweden.  Eise isn't even Swedish!  Nor is his child!  No matter, he gets free money anyways.

Thingy and his wife get counselling from a sex therapist, resulting in them having sexual intercourse for the first time in their marriage of two years.

Taylortot crosses off an item from his bucket list by attending a Death Grips concert.  At the show, he is assaulted by a Black Lives Matter “activist.”

Justin St. Pierre attends an Ariana Grande concert in Montreal.

Spec attends some events in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and reports seeing multiple people having sex, consuming drugs, and engaging in other illicit activities at the venues.  He is in the background of Leonardo Santos' picture of Usain Bolt after winning the Triple-Triple, which gets over 100 likes on Facebook (as predicted last year.)

Dan Cervone wins the Nobel Prize in economics.

Flickerform opens a Magic: the Gathering pack with TWO foil Tarmogoyfs.  He cannot bear to part with them, but is behind on bills, so reluctantly sells both for $575 USD.  Ironically, he spent more than that on packs before opening this one.

Swiss breaks from Goldeneye to speedrun Paper Mario, refines the “blue house clip,” gets the any% World Record, and runs the game at SGDQ.  The K44 train theme music becomes a meme during the event.

Birdie lands a job in the production of Star Wars Episode VIII where he meets Daisy Ridley and gets a picture taken with her.  Everyone else becomes very jealous.

Jimbo continues a healthy relationship with his new girlfriend, only plays Goldeneye when he has free time, pays his bills punctually, and maintains his perfectly modest, decent lifestyle.

Jimmy Bauer begins to transition to the female gender, however due to her reserved personality and reclusive lifestyle, no one notices anything different until 2019 when she changes her name on the rankings to “Ella Bauer.”

POLITICS:

Donald Trump is elected the 45h President of the United States of America, despite many saying “he can't do it, people will have to realize he's crazy sooner or later!”  He destroys Hillary with over 300 electoral college votes, and Hillary has to check herself into rehab for exhaustion and low energy after the election.

Qweczol is harassed and nearly mugged at a sports bar in Baltimore for wearing his “Make America Great Again” hat, but rescued when three black Trump supporters come to his aide, scaring off the white cis beta male SJW cucks who were accosting him in the first place.  He wins his game of fantasy football that day.

The Hill publishes an article “how is online trolling helping Donald Trump?” featuring a shitpost written by Glover.  He is offered a position in Trump's campaign and lives the dream of finally getting paid to shitpost.

Ryan Koch posts a Facebook status detailing how displeased he is with the new election of United States President Elect, Donald Trump.

David Clemens proposes to his girlfriend Jessica and brings her back to the United States of America.  She immigrates without any problems, leaving his friend Koch bewildered.  “You mean even though Trump is President, people can still immigrate to the country?”

Twii goes full emo after the election of Donald Trump, tweeting thousands of tweets that get literally no likes or retweets.  On top of tweets like “tfw still no qt gf” and “tfw no one will ever want to date you again” several Twitter users and eliters are prompted to call the suicide squad to his house, where he is checked into rehab.

David Monteith is arrested and jailed for election fraud when he tries to vote twice for Jeb Bush in the Florida Republican Presidential Primary.

Phil Bezgoubov gets the “selfie of the year” when he takes a picture with Vladimir Putin at The Kremlin.  It is photoshopped endlessly and used several times in the WR topic.

After a series of undefendable chemical attacks on Europe by ISIS; targeting Munich, Stockholm, Moscow, London, and the Vatican, among others; Pope Francis, Vladimir Putin, and President Elect Donald Trump declare a Holy War on Islam.  The year ends in turmoil and most consider this to be the marked beginning of World War III.

Luke achieves #1 in GoldenEye and buys himself a Navajo Rug to celebrate. He continues to get promoted at work and leaves his speedrunning lifestyle behind, but continues to be close with the community.

Ace continues to troll the ranks and eventually removes his entire timespages because he thinks its funny. Everything gets restored eventually as well as the name "PerfectAce05" because of an error, which causes him to retire from the community and the games for now. He scores a well-paid engineering job at a top firm, but they end up denying him entry because his name isn't Rayyan.

Goose improves his standing within the elite, being less of an asshole and fixing some of the conflicts that started in 2015. He streams GoldenEye more frequently remembering how much fun it used to be. He buys the domain "www.makespeedrunninggreatagain.com" and does nothing with it.

Eric returns to GoldenEye with a new twitch alt "bond_is_back" but re-enters retirement after 2 sessions of failing to get Depot 39.

Phil doesn't return to GoldenEye and continues to find success in his studies and future career, further distancing himself from the community.

Marc reveals that the Truth Contest was all an elaborate troll to distract the Elite from his GE skill. He unhoards into first place later this year.

Clemens finally snaps and punches a customer at Aldi. After getting fired he starts up the most degenerate GE and PD grinds possible, and achieves 1st place in GE after Luke but before Marc.

Eise finally snaps and abuses multiple people over the phone at his tech support job. After getting fired he starts up degenerate GE grinds and achieves top 10.

Wodahs achieves Archives 15 and a few other times to achieve 4th place. He retires, finds a better job, and ultimately becomes much happier with his life.

Sammy achieves Statue A 2:18 (obviously). He buys an obscure games console that not even the biggest collectors have heard of.

Jimmy Bauer randomly shows up at Sammy's house on stream. The stream ends and neither of them are heard from again.

Jimbo's new relationship goes very well, and he retires from GE and administration duties, which he gives to Alec.

Alec, with his new power, makes a controversial decision. Anyone with concerns who opposes him receives unfair treatment from Alec and a select few eliters. No one else publicly agrees with the opposition because they don't want to get involved in drama.

Illu pursues his interests and after much hard work finally gets a job in nutrition, but then immediately wins the lottery anyway.

Justin passes Goose and Illu, knocking him out of the top 10. He then disappears for another 6 months and only returns to ask Eric to post his sweater back to him.

Lockwood finally achieves Twitch partner on December 31, 2016. No longer does he have to work at the liquor store, where he says "you're all a bunch of filthy degenerates" upon walking out one last time.

Gus Riolo reduces the framerate of his videos to 5.

Swiss Parker achieves a pile of other PD TWRs and UWRs. He is champion for a day due to a rankings glitch. His streamed Sticker Star playthrough is critically panned.

Flicker becomes PD LTK champ very soon, which sparks the return of Icy and a heated rivalry.

Qweczol continues to provide the comfiest stream on Twitch.

Marc Rutzou applies for a job at the Truth Contest. On the form where the applicant is asked for the position he/she would like to apply for, he accidentally ticks the "Software Developer For Website" checkbox instead of the checkbox above it, "Spiritual Preacher". He clears the interview, however on the first day of work, to his surprise, he sees a computer with Visual Studio open. Not knowing what to do and being a king of technologically illiterate, he ends up playing with msconfig, deleting key .dll files. All vital Truth Contest data is lost and he is fired from his job and ousted from the Truth Contest community. After being betrayed, he resurfaces in the GE community with 100% streams. He is hosted by Lockwood (who has 4,000 viewers from a Reckful host) and is just about to complete a 58:xx pace run, until he makes an embarrassing mistake of falling off the final platform on Cradle Agent. The sound of a television falling on the concrete can be heard just before the stream goes offline and Marc is never heard from again.

Jezz discovers a new trick on Dam Agent that saves half a second. He realises you can skip / warp through the stairs at the very end. Being the clever person he is, he only reveals the strat live on G-Day and snipes 0:52. At first people find it extremely sketchy because they can't replicate the trick and Jimbo asks Luke to drive to Jezz's house to investigate. Luke confirms the run is legit and in fact TIES 0:52. Jezz takes the entire $800 G-Day jackpot money. Everyone is amazed and January 23 is called "Jezz Day".

Ace announces a regular Trivia game on Discord 24 hours in advance. The announcement is made on Twitter and retweeted by Goose. Everyone is shocked to see 400 participants that session. Trivia becomes increasingly popular and explodes when Trihex, Narcissa, etc. participate and it becomes more popular than GDQ. It becomes a professional event with prize money being handed out to the winner. However, everyone is dissatisfied by Ace's rules only two games in, calling him a "corrupt host", forcing him to resign. Goose takes over and Trivia hosting becomes his full-time job.

G-Day Predictions;

- Illu grinds Dam Agent for 17 hours again. He gets 19 0:53 dupes, at least two of which seem quite close. One has 2:0 and a really good gate.

- dsx starts a Streets 00 Agent session. Only 2 hours in he is fed up of the level and hardly gets any runs. He throws his GE cartridge in the dust-bin in a fit of rage. However he later picks it up and starts Streets again. Only minutes later he gets a call from Australia Post saying they need him urgently. This tilts him a lot and he throws his GE cart against a wall before turning off the stream and disappearing for 2 days.

- Eise plays Aztec Agent for a total of 7 hours, playing his favorite trance music in the background. He gets four glass opens and chokes three. The fourth one is a miracle 1:23/1:24 pace run, but in an extremely unusual and rare scenario, his Internet goes down during the countdown. Chat goes hysterical but the stream doesn't appear to come back online. 12 hours later, after G-Day has ended, his stream is back with a 1:24 endscreen. Drama ensues whether the run counts for G-Day or not.

- Lockwood is playing H1Z1 all day and forgets what G-Day actually is. He gets informed when only 2 hours left but says "oh well, what's the point, I won't be able to get some sick WR in only 2 hours."

- Karl Jobst gets Surface 2 Agent 0:47 as the first WR of the day. During the end cinema, his channel is linked everywhere (Discord, Telegram, WhatsApp, etc.) An epic chat reaction follows when the first ever WR on this date is achieved.

- Luke Pettit comes along and posts a video of a 1:04 Frigate 00 Agent endscreen.

- Jezz gets Surface 1 Agent 1:02. However he doesn't stream and his PC is screwed once again, so there is no video. More people find this sketchy and state Jezz is none other than Luke trolling with an alt.

- Luke Szklarz is on pace for a 0:52 Facility 00 Agent run at the Door Decoder. He sees a gT and believes he's got it, but his hands shake so much he times the leave wrong and gets a blatant 0:52 fail. He's heartbroken, goes back into retirement, but then Ace and Eric cheer him up and tell him a much better game, The Witness, is coming out in only 3 days.

- JustinDT gets Streets 1:55. However this is the 2nd WR of the day, after Karl's 0:47.

- Ace doesn't play anything and disappoints everyone. He lurks in most of the G-Day streams and roots for everyone, however.

- Flicker gets Archives 0:16. This is the 3rd WR of the day.

- Boss plays various levels, focusing mainly on Surface 1 Secret Agent and Depot Agent because he's too washed at everything else. He dupes a 24.00 again. His records don't even count though because he doesn't stream.

- Goose starts a grind for Silo Secret Agent. His stream is the most-viewed one, with 500 viewers cheering for him to get the G-Day WR. Unfortunately, Silo SA being the brutal level it is, screws him over and he only manages to get a relatively irrelevant 1:11 and 1:10 fail. He then moves to Dam 00 Agent and dupes another 1:59 on a run where he expected 2:01 and subsequently exclaims "WHAT?", giving him hope that 1:55 will be tied someday.

- Wodahs gets back to Control 00 Agent but his session goes downhill after about an hour. He has one decent run, but dies at the protect.

- swissrollz plays G5 Special Agent and TIES 0:39 in a ridiculous fluke that only takes 20 minutes. Unfortunately, he only realises after the run that G-Day is for GoldenEye only.

- Alex grinds Bunker 2 00 Agent for 10+ hours. He gets 0:54 on one of finest runs of his career, only to realise he had the "No Radar (Multi)" cheat on.

I'll make some G-Day predictions:

- NO ONE gets a WR, which makes G-Day 2017 the most anticipated event of the SCORE we've been speedrunning Goldeneye.

- Illu grinds Dam Agent for over 12 hours.  If I didn't predict no WRs happen, I would predict that he gets Dam Agent 0:52.

- Luke plays Frigate Agent for 20 minutes, doesn't get 23, and switches stream to making jigsaw puzzles.

- Qweczol gets discouraged going for S2 47 when he can't really get the hang of the throw and switches to Paper Mario after a couple hours.

- DSX gets 20 Streets 1:55s in 16 hours.  Only one or two are .5ish, the rest are all high.  DSX realizes that 1:54 is indeed a 100 hour grind.

- Goose spends his whole stream ranting about ALT-F-X, Twitch admin appear in the channel, Goose addresses them asking who they are voting for in the Presidential election and what their thoughts are on the Syrian refugee crisis.  The stream is completely inane and Goose was playing Dam 00A the whole time which he had no chance of getting a WR on anyways, but makes $100, puts $50 of it into the Dam 52 pot and tells everyone to subscribe to r/speedruns which breaks 1000 subscribers by the end of the night.  Posts about his stream are made to r/speedrun and ALT-F-X bans everyone who viewed Goose's stream that night.

- Eise gets Aztec Agent 1:25 and Dam 00 Agent 1:56 with door open strat.  Amazing runs, but not WRs.

- All the various new players fail at getting any of the boring four on G-Day, but some hit WRs a few hours before, and a few hours after the calendar date in the US Central Time Zone.

- Wodahs plays for an hour but gets upset at Goldeneye being a waste of time, realizes he has a pretty good life now and looks extremely handsome, and texts his girlfriend for a late night booty call.

- Jezz actually does get a WR but at this point everyone knows he's the lovechild of Luke Szklarz and Denis Lucid, with a little bit of Justin Bieber Ramirez thrown in.  Jimbo rightfully refuses to acknowledge this as a legit WR on January 23rd.

- Swiss plays a little bit of Cradle SA but like Qweczol, switches to play Paper Mario after a couple hours.

- Twii also tries his hand at Cradle SA/00A but gets frustrated and tweets "tfw can't get a WR on G-Day" and then resorts to posting .gifs of womens' buttocks in the #abandon-ship-nsfw chat in Discord.

- M A R C U S S T R Y K E R is spammed a lot in many eliters' chatrooms throughout the night.

- Jimbo plays 2 hours of something he wasn't going to WR on anyways and turns it off to watch the NFC Championship game.

- Glover streams some Bunker 1 Agent, discusses politics with Birdie and Goose, but for some reason hasn't been readded to the rankings and therefore nothing matters anyways.

- Grav *almost* nails Surface 2 47 but gets trolled a lot in his chat by people who don't understand why he'd play Goldeneye and think it contradicts with his views on IL speedrunning.

- Calle W gets a handful of Caverns A 1:02s including one where the scientists fail somehow.

- Ogran dies falling into the grate on his best Surface 1 00A run ever.  The time reads 1:48.  Heartbroken, he gets in his car and drives to Llanfairaoijwoiejafsdklmaoewrjewafaeorijaewmfjerwfioaemwdfoiemwroimaewowdoimaedgogoch to clear his mind.

- Lockwood plays Super Metroid and disregards G-Day.

- Clemens plays Perfect Dark instead.

- Flickerform gets nothing going for him, switches to DLTK and gets a WR there.

- Listener Canon adds 3-4 eliters' sisters on Facebook asking "what does it feel to be in the same house as someone participating in G-Day?"

Hope you're right about Streets 1:11 ;) The Illu vs Austin-rivalry is cool.

Yeah it's amazing how overrated 1:11 is. I think it'd be a two or even three-liner if people grinded it as much as do on Facility or Silo.

Illu will untie it. Never getting 1:11. Don't place false hope in me.
