Hey, I made this comment on youtube, and decided to register an account share it with you guys.

I was going to make this post about how you're missing the point of Marc's post towards Luke in saying that Luke is a highly educated engineer. By saying that, you're just framing things in Marc's perspective of lack of enlightenment because it complies with being a boring adult marching or sleep walking towards death. I think that Marc is dealing with notions that see the common measures of 'success' as a social construct that humans tend to focus on using the wrong perspective, leading to ultimately unfulfilling, drone-like lives. In a way, he might be approaching what is basically independently developed existentialist philosophy through the musings of a geocities website developed by a 15 year old too intelligent for his own age, but constrained by shitty language and an inability (probably out of complacency and ineptitude) to formalize his notions into coherent ideas. I visited the website, and it's so quaint-- it's something I would have liked to read when I was 14 or 15 myself.
Clearly, Marc thought it was silly that Luke was so seemingly bothered by Marc disliking his videos, and thought "why does it matter? why should this shit bring anybody down?" So he proceeded to do a silly, meaningless prank that would obviously get him caught making an alt account for every day of the year just to mess with his internet buddy to ultimately no negative effect for the purpose of (1) demonstrating that dislikes are meaningless, and more importantly (2) the lulz. Clearly, it's just a giant waste of time, but the idea itself of it being a waste of time is what amused and pushed Marc to go through with it. This act of degeneracy differs from the instance of a butthurt 13-year old that cries over dislikes doing some petty shit to get back at someone, but instead it's like this Marc guy did it ironically. In a way, Marc might have transcended a life dictated by social expectation and psychological rewards in the form of youtube thumbs up or down, and those of us concerned likes like a crying instagram tween are the true degenerates, while he is a post-degenerate.
Then I read his shit about god and jeysus now I'm pretty sure he's veering into lunacy.
But... I think you should pay more attention to his comment about 'words'. What he, in his pseudo-intellectual ramblings, is trying to say is that your language is constrained in connotation so much that by calling him a degenerate based on the description of his actions, you're framing a narrative that generalizes his actions as akin to that of the butthurt, petty 13-year old seeking revenge; this ignores the intention, which Marc believes to be a unique instance for all people. goddamn The elite should just set up a gofundme to send Marc to philosophy school, not so he can do the whole grades and career dance, but so that he can interact and learn with experienced philosophers. Funnily enough, Denmark is the homeland of Soren Kierkegaard, father of existentialism.
I followed some of the links posted in the video showing some of these Marc Rutzuou [sic] posts, and as a philosophy scholar myself, I have to say these forums were pretty unfair to him even if he is a 'dick'. :v

scythe, I actually agree that some/much of what Marc says is founded largely in truth (ironically.) A lot of his views and beliefs of the world are similar to mine.
That being said he's a complete dick, treats people poorly, and the rest of what he says is complete lunacy. So yeah you and I are on a very similar page here.

Yeah, but philosophers tend to be dicks. Not that he's a legitimate philosopher or anything, but if he thinks that he sees something that others don't, and these people insist on not seeing it, his only response is going to be to mock you or point out your faults, which people tend to consider rude. The better response is to this Marc guy is not to reject his points or dismiss them for "lol too many words durrr", but to understand them first, then refute them if so needed.

lots of people have addressed specific things Marc said over the last few years, including the Ultimate Truth psychobabble which he adamantly defended as pure enlightenment. Disliking 400 YouTube videos in a day is pretty weird and pointless so I'm not going to give the intention much credit. His independently developed existentialist philosophy is garbage and should be called garbage, and the way he went about sharing this philosophy was markedly hostile on many occasions, leading many people to also criticize Marc himself (a guy that I used to chat with a lot)

I'm not sure it is exists, but if there were an awards ceremony for 'Most Naive Person On The Planet'.. you would sweep it.
