It's stupid that the messages still appear, but it just takes discipline not to click and read it. If someone is really bothering you this much, it's better to just block them and move on. You'll be better off for it and so will they because you won't get tilted and attack people.

The block function on discord is shit though. My suggestion to all parties is to stop the drama and ignore each other.
