All of these players (with the exception of Ryan Dwyer's Streets 00 1:59, 2012) posted GE times no later than 2004.
Will update as these players lose points.
Irrel thread but maybe encourage new players to strive to make history.

Already used Steven Zwartjes as a rival of sorts in my last game. My goal isn't to make people lose points though.

I absolutely support this. :v

Do note though that grinding for (what was) an untied back in the early 00s can still hold up today, but older times pages are still excellent targets for newbies who like to rotate levels. There are still some 1999 times that are worth decent points, and even the likes of Boss, Wouter, Paragon, etc have good points in times they haven't played for a decade and a half (or even longer).

I would suggest sticking to individual levels a little harder though and playing in such a manner that is relevant in today's metagame, moreso than specifically trying to match 2002 times in 2018.

How hard would it be to get 20 people to score Streets Agent 1:13? That's all it would take to make Ngamer pointless.

I know I'm definitely going for 1:13 sometime this year, so there's that.
Also RIP Sucram

Perhaps the list could be updated to include former Champion Mike Martin, whose total currently stands at 16 points.

Updated the OP.
Wes "Wes007" McKinney was holding onto his last remaining GE points with Jungle 00 1:20 but Irie Butler and Lake Demon put up faster times effectively taking out the all-time great.

The following displays the remaining players from the OP who still have points. How many they had at the time this thread was created and how many they currently have at the time of this post:

Michael "Slayer" Burden had 37 points -- currently at 21 points.
Lost 16 points.

Ryan "Your Eliteness" Dwyer had 104 points -- currently at 55 points.
Lost 49 points.

Dan Berube had 184 points -- currently at 116 points.
Lost 68 points.

Steve "xXDarkLightXx" Foy had 212 points -- currently at 112 points.
Lost 100 points.

Ben "ParagonX9" Gorman had 223 points -- currently at 128 points.
Lost 95 points.

Steve "1 Guard Glass Lurer" Zwartjes had 310 points -- currently at 229 points.
Lost 81 points.  *Note* that nickname is not official.

New generation Eliters are doing work.

There’s a guy called Morgan Malm with 1 point who has a load of date unknown times. If any one person can get Dam SA 1:20 or better, he’ll have 0. GL

Caverns 00A 1:53. If SZ weren't removed from the rankings I'd have bopped him twice on the level in the last few hours. This gives me a big feeling of accomplishment. This level is underplayed, the only reason many of these older players have points on it. However it's pretty obscene in terms of difficulty to get a completion, but pretty fun once you get the pace to pass Trev. Now Chris Rayola stands with 1 point, a measly 2:50 required to pass him. Will the new Eliters discover this level is easy points if you're willing to grind?

That and the level also underwent a significant strat change sometime in late 2003.

Yes, but the point is that very few players have bothered with it, getting sub 2:00 is cake pace wise. There should be 100+ players capable of getting sub 2 over the last 15 years. Times gotten with the older strats and without the extra body armor shouldn't hold up if people were actually playing it. Even my time was 23s slower than WR, not too many levels allow you that kind of time to waste on poor movement and execution and still get points. That said, it is a punishing level until you get fast pace, and it's pretty inconsistent anyway. You see the same thing now with Aztec, with the mainframe glass strat people are beating up on the level because it's so much more consistent, so the times worth points are drying up. Some levels have a pretty decent range of times between WR and 1 point, but Caverns 00A is a huge outlier because most people simply don't play it. I'd expect that comparing the total runs submitted for each level, it would be one of the fewest. Only people who care about time ranks, or who are trying to get points on many levels generally play it.

There's nothing stopping older players from getting Japanese carts and learning the strats. If Chris Rayola wants to make a comeback and get a better time than me I'd tip my cap.

Rayola's 2:51 is very strong dude. Many have been playing for years and couldn't beat it (Lockwood, Mirror, Grav).

Spoiler
Joking aside, there is a good reason for this big gap between old school PRs: without the extra BA (runners didn't really get JAP cartridges before 2011 ... a gentlemen's agreement, laziness, or a huge oversight?) you basically had two options. Option 1 is to go balls out and run the ending in very similar fashion to modern strats (see 1:42 WR from 2003 by Wouter and 1:35 WR by Clemens and Ace; *insane* times for their age and version) but this way you have to go through hell to even get a single completion; and much more so without top-player consistency. Even when you leave the B area with full health, you're very likely to get wrecked (remember that you usually lose 4 bars in the drone tunnel by default). Option 2 is to go safe after the spiral and clear most guards, which will give you around 3:10 if done well (I had 3:25 this way). There is not much in between those two options, because if you go just half safe and don't try to run past most guards, you'll be exposed longer and other guards catch up so you'll get completely fucked no matter what. Some exceptions seem to be some pre-Wouter WRs but, as we are learning these days, these are possibly just lies.

And thanks to Andrew Wash's 1:51, it's no longer worth points. It may be strong from a version/historical context, but in terms of the modern game it must be one of the easier levels to make a few points despite being really hard to get a really good time. I wouldn't be surprised if 1:53 was worth 0 points within a year or two.

That is correct, beating 1:53 is trivial with JAP. You can invest 2-3 second into the anti-guard mine at B (as seen in the non-JAP vids) and you'll survive every single run.
