It's time again for the World's most widely viewed sporting event!
Starting on Thursday the 14th, the opening match will be between the host Russia and Saudi Arabia.
Notable this time around is that Italy did NOT qualify. Holland and USA failed to qualify as well :o

How the point system works:
If you predict the score in the Russia vs Saudi Arabia match will end 2-0 to Russia and that score actually happen, you will be rewarded 3 points. If you predict the score to be 2-0 to Russia, and Russia win 3-1, you will receive 1 point for correctly picking the winning team.
If you predict Egypt vs Uruguay to end 1-1, i.e. a draw, and that result actually happen, you will get 3 points. If the match ends with a 3-3 draw, you will receive 1 point for correctly predicting a draw.
Predict the correct winner of the 2018 World Cup and you will receive a total of 10 bonus points.
I will begin by posting the 4 first matches along with my preds for those matches. Also will post the team who I think will win the World Cup.
After the 4 first matches have been played, anyone please feel free at any time to post your preds for the next few matches. If someone wish to volunteer for tallying the points, that would be most welcome as well.

Question: During the finals, will we be predicting the actual result or the result after 90 minutes? I would prefer the latter, as it leaves the possibility for a draw and nobody (not me, at least) wants to predict 7-6 for a possible penalty shootout.

We haven't experienced that problem on the earlier WC predictions but I guess if we find out you've edited your preds, then you're banned. There's no money or price involved, so people don't take this too seriously.
