Title: Help test proceduraly generated cities for first generation Pokémon games
Post by: Oskillz on July 02, 2018, 06:00:09 pm
Hi everybody!

I am about to finish my bachelor thesis in computer science from Malmö University which I have been working on with one of my classmates during this semester. Our research has been in the area of procedural content generation for games and we have chosen to generate cities for the first generation of Pokémon games.

We have developed two programs which used two different ways of representing the Pokémon cities that we wanted to generate, and to evaluate which way of representing the content that worked best we now need some independent people testing the generated cities.

For testing purposes we put together a program in which we have five cities from each representation in a random order, you can switch between cities with your page up and page down buttons and walk around in them just as you would in the original games. After that you can give each city a rating between 1-5 using this form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfCcPE1vP1EFh0ZHGrI59V75Di3BONT61ifdgpsBTzFpa7cWA/viewform

The testing program is available on my github:

Testing the maps should not take long and we would really appreciate your feedback :)
