Title: ** The 2019 Predictions Thread! **
Post by: DYM on December 25, 2018, 01:35:03 pm
The most anticipated thread of the year is here! Here's a look back at 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018 ones if you want a chuckle, or to just see who won the Elite's fortune teller (Merlon) Award with the most correct predictions. I HIGHLY recommend going through them if you haven't already:

2015 - https://forums.the-elite.net/index.php?topic=19973.0
2016 - https://forums.the-elite.net/index.php?topic=20753.0
2017 - https://forums.the-elite.net/index.php?topic=21655.0
2018 - https://forums.the-elite.net/index.php?topic=22260.0

If you're new and too lazy to check those threads, this is basically where we predict what happens in 2019. You can make as predictions as you want. For example:

- Karl's Advanced Speedrunning Principles Series goes viral, with each video garnering 100K views.
- Clemens' gets Rescue PA 2:29 live on stream, but the video has dropped frames once again, causing the time to be backrolled.

Or if you are more creative, you can make them as wild as you want:

- Ace finally gets admission at some university on the East Coast and gets his US visa two months later. A PA meet is planned in August, just 2 weeks after his arrival. Ragequit picks him up from his home in Ohio, becoming the first ever Eliter to meet Ace in person, who isn't surprised to see him in a black 'MARCUS STRYKER' shirt with his Nike shoes. Ace initially struggles to play well since his hands are extremely cold, but later uses the Wet Water Trick and gets Facility Agent 0:43 15 minutes later, shocking everybody. Randy tries to get Ace drunk one night, but Ace lectures Randy about how degenerate alcohol is and tosses his 9 bottles of Jack Daniels in the garbage dump outside. The event is critically acclaimed, receiving more praise than MOAM 2019.

Spend the next few days crafting some amazing predictions and then post away! I will post my list soon, hopefully by the end of this week or the next.

Ragequit picks him up from his home in Ohio

ah see, 'his home' in this sentence is meant to refer to Ace's, not tyler's, easy mistake to make

Yeah, fair assumption on his part. Grammatical mistake on my end. This is likely why I got a 5 in my GRE AWA, instead of 5.5 or 6.

- Jobst Jr. is born.

- Marc finally gets Silo Agent 0:59 after a vacation in Morocco. His reaction is posted on r/speedrun, and Kotaku, and is in fact so wild that it is trending on r/all briefly. Marc's streams then gain popularity, and he averages 200-400 viewers per stream. Clemens & Ace remain wasted talents, and only average their usual 20 viewer count per stream.

- Ragequit once again finds a job he likes - this time in a US bank - making $150K annually. Only 8 months in, towards the end of the year, he is offered a promotion to a management position with a potential $300K salary, but refuses because he still wants to "have fun coding".

- Clemens continues his RTA attempts on and off throughout the year, and achieves a remarkable 21:46 time, but is still unable to beat Marc's WR. Sometime during the year, Ace joins the Agent RTA competition, and lowers the record to 21:38 within a couple of days. Because Ace was streaming in early American hours, without a mic, the only live viewers were Glover & JDBlack. Glover links the stream in various Elite Discords with a "BREAKING" message, where Ace replays the run live with commentary to 100 viewers. The next day Marc lowers the record to 21:37.

- Goose returns to content-creating, posting his first video again in the middle of January. Not much is discussed in the YouTube comments on the actual content of the video as is discussed on the 27/11 incident, but most of the comments are from sympathizers. This encourages Goose to continue his work as a content-creator. However, he still keeps a relatively low-profile. He does not continue his SpeedLore series, to many people's sadness, but Ace says he will take over with a completely new series called "MateLore". Unfortunately, even by the end of the year Ace has nothing but a half-finished script on the first episode. Nobody is surprised.

- Karl continues to wreck havoc in GoldenEye, untying Jungle Agent 0:49, Surface 1 00 Agent 1:47, and tying Surface 1 Secret Agent 1:47, Surface 2 Secret Agent 0:47, Streets 00 Agent 1:54, Streets Secret Agent 1:54, Jungle 00 Agent 0:53, among many others records. He reaches #2 in GoldenEye by the end of the year. His streams and YouTube continue to grow and his average viewer count soars to 500. He branches out to non-speedrunning related content on his YouTube sometime during the last quarter of the year. One of his videos goes viral.

- Ace & Clemens submit a GoldenEye 00 Agent race for AGDQ 2020. The run is rejected.

- KevinDDR spends a month straight on Air Force One Agent and finally achieves 0:51. Another article is written about it on Kotaku, however, it is poorly written and mentions several incorrect facts, such as Kevin being from Canada & previously being the first to untie 0:52.

- Wodahs gets promoted to a senior role at Google. Although he earns a handsome salary, he is overworked to the point that his time visiting the-elite gradually diminishes and he eventually steps down from his role as Elite Council Executive. Ace makes a public poll to select a suitable replacement, but before the poll even ends the council announces a member of their own choice. Nobody but Ace questions this decision and nobody responds to his concerns.

- Ace gets another Frigate Agent 0:22, hostages complete & bug failed, on stream. He spends most of 2019 rather unsuccessful with IL WRs, and announces his retirement & shift towards content-creation. Unable to even finish his first video, he returns to ILs and gets Dam 00 Agent 1:54. This is his only world record of 2019.

- Tulsi Gabbard announces her campaign for US Presidency in 2020.

- Ace, Qweczol, ragequit and Randy plan to meet at the Landmark Harbor East Theater in Baltimore to watch Frozen 2, which premieres on November 22. Randy turncoats at the last moment, saying he is too drunk to attend, after which Ace demotes him to Ultra Turncoat, the first ever to receive this position.

- mw gets Defection Special Agent 0:17, his first ever untied. It is tied by Jezz S. who makes a comeback one week later.

- Spagooda codes TheEliteBotNet 3.0, which has the commands !fastfood, !news, !goss, !giba, !maccas and more. setrack is finally promoted to admin in the-elite Discord.

---- TO BE COMPLETED SOON ----

Marc Rutzou achieves the elusive silo 59 sometime in the month of February. His on-stream reaction rivals any past ones and the community as a whole celebrates this moment.

Clemens continues to pump out a few more RTA PR's and returns to GE IL's. Shortly thereafter he begins to realize how much of a waste grinding IL's is and also becomes very cognizant of his age in 2019. He beings researching potential topics to study at Uni and starts making moves.

Eise continues to withdraw from the community in 2019 making only a handlful of appearances and no new GE times. He enjoys his golden years with his gf. He completely disappears from the-elite by 2021.

Goose makes no new GE content and doesn't show up until June 2019 and slowly starts to incorporate himself into the community. He is received with mixed results.

Karl achieves jungle 49 and continues to build his fanbase and distance himself from this community. He becomes a completely independent faction by the end of 2019.

Dsx releases at least one new film project that is well-received. Birdie will later complain that when he visited him in LA, he was not informed of any of the details of the project.

Calle achieves surface 1 00 147

Out of nowhere, Dan Cervone posts at least one GE PR in 2019.

ELITE PREDS:

2019 features 3 major unhoards from a handful of different community members, inspired by Kapap's legacy, they determine to take up the mantle themselves. Everyone refers to these as 'XXXpap' and I get salty every time someone says it that way because the Kapap's were their own thing I mean we call them 'Green Projects' not Greenpap so come on people (/end rant) but no one listens and it continues.

A slew of new players who join the ranks in 2019 start posting decent times worth points and don’t provide any proof at all (because they clearly haven’t watched my tuts). The community agrees that all times worth points should be proof called and this is added to the proof policy.

A noob flukes a 20 point time, and decides to share his knowledge with fellow players through a tutorial. He offers the worst advice and clearly fails to understand the game at all, and the community memes the hell out of his video.

GE PREDS:

Luke achieves Frig 00 1:04, inspiring Pettit to return. Pettit ties 23 and unties 00 to 1:03 within 2 days of 1:04 being posted. He shares his 3 hour long session vids and console reset and we continue to be both confused and amazed by his mysterious luck.

Ace returns to GE, but refuses to play for Runway SA 22 or Cradle 33's, stating the times are 'too degen' and instead plays for Fac 42 and Frig 22, achieving neither, but getting both a 22 bug fail hostages complete and a 42 fail where he misplaced the mines. In frustration, he disappears for 2 months before one day he posts Cavs 00 1:28 with no comment and no video. The video is discovered by Alka on a japanese forum, and has commentary over top of it. A week after the video is discovered Ace breaks his silence when someone starts streaming TTYD, saying simply "!!!" in Discord.

Marc shocks himself by getting Silo 59 on the worst run of all time sometime in mid March.

Clemens ties Marc's Agent RTA WR to the frame in early January and determined to beat it outright, keeps playing. After missing the stairs on Dam 6 times in a row in one session, he rage-quits the stream, stops streaming for 2 weeks, returns, and beats the record by 10 seconds on the first run.

Jimbo, seeing the growing threat of the Spooky Butler, miraculously ties a couple good records, securing his spot, for now.

Boss posts an M-strat untied, ending the hopes of Calle. The run is posted to r/speedrun, where none of them understand what he's doing, and none of the eliter's know how to explain it. Everyone leaves confused.

Sammo finally gets the Cavs SA PB he's been grinding for. He unhoards that and the other runs he has worth points, and enters the ranks properly with 104 points. He sandbags until league, where he goes crazy and gains 2000 points.

Haydos breaks his silence by posting an untied, but is still sitting on the outside of the top 50 by 2020.

Joris sweeps Turbo, Enemy Rockets, OFOS, ARS, and ALS leagues WR's, posts just enough GE PB's to get top 50.

Irie is ranked 12th when 2020 begins.

Illu makes a minor comeback, but doesn't reclaim top 10.

Swiss posts Control 3:56 and Cradle 33.

Karl gives up on Jungle 49, and ties 4 other WR's before May. He takes a short break from IL's, and sweeps the RTA WR's (yes even All 60) in July.

Runway 28 gets tied twice.

A newbie joins the ranks in 2019, and breaks top 50 within the year, but achieves only one world record with Runway Agent 22 in that time frame.

badKarl still doesn’t get Runway SA 22, and in late November gets desperate, and begins streaming his attempts with hand cam. One or two community members tune in to see him holding both controllers upside down and his second controller is not plugged into the console. No one says anything or questions how he’s been playing like this and so he is doomed to forever dupe 23.

Mouser makes a major comeback and ends the year ranked 11th.

I stand by my pred in the S2 thread, Mike and Wally both go ballistic and tie 1:23. My brain says Mike gets it first, my heart says Wally.

Egypt 44’s remain untied.

Luke remains GE champ for the entire year.

S1 1:02 loses initials.

Depot 26 loses its last point.

Wouter Jansen leaves the Top 50.

2 more members of the class of 2018 (people who joined the ranks in 2018) besides me enter the Top 50.

Runway 38 is worth less than 60 points by the end of the year.

PD PREDS:

Pauli and Kevin both get top 15, and end 2019 ranked 12th and 13th respectively.

Boss comes up with an insane and complicated strat for Escape, and achieves 17 untieds between A, SA, PA, LTK, and DLTK on the level. Lake Demon gets one PB with this strat, no one else bothers playing it.

Whiteted helps cut the PD time total to 1:26:XX with his ideas. He still refuses to play the games and learn how practical strats are in actual runs, and attempts to find a new GE timesave, inspired by Boss's M-Strat untied. He finds a Nat skip for Control that requires 30 explosions to detonate simultaneously and declares that "1:05:XX IS POSSIBLE," until someone points out that doing so would require farming 20 grenades and somehow getting them all to detonate in tandem with the remote mines. He retires from GE strats after this and sticks to PD.

Omar Ramos somehow finds his way back on to the ranks, and having been foiled in GE, turns his sights to PD instead. He posts times worth around 1000 points total all at once, Ace and Alka warn the community to let him prove himself before getting suspicious. Videos appear one day, with the video under his "Defection Agent 6" being Irie's Cradle agent 33, he is promptly removed from the rankings, again.

Boss retakes PD champ, throwing yet another wrench into Karl’s quest for duel champ. Karl decides to stick to GE simply because he’s still in 7th and needs to focus on that. Karl ends 2019 ranked 3rd in PD, with Boss as champ, and Green one point ahead of Karl after he makes a huge push for second.

OFFICIAL badKarl 2019 predictions  :)

• Within the first two months of 2019 Goose attempts to come back to content creation with mixed results, but most people have already made up their minds about him by that point.

• Karl Jobst unties surface 2 secret agent after realizing its free with roof door strat

• Gus Riolo gets 300 points on depot

• There are at least FIVE separate unhoards throughout the year. These are met with mixed results.

• Karl Jobst gets jungle Agent 49 OR 00Agent 53, but not both

• Ace streams for less than one month, but gets an insane untied world record (frig 22 or facility 42)

• Eise S unties aztec secret agent by more than one second

• David Clemens takes up streaming much more often than he does now and finally nails Bunker 1 00Agent 1:00, but not much else

• Total time reaches 1:11:0X

• A new player gets an untied on a total fluke run

• There is a new hoard in a similar vein to Kapap and Green Project by new players. It is received very well and leads to more hoards, this lack of posting times incorrectly results in 2019 being seen as the least active year in Elite History. Ace makes a thread: "Should Hoarding be BANNED?"

• After much deliberation and argument, a banned user is reinstated to the ranks. However, this is only after being completely anonymized

• Joris Quevedo and Haydos will reach top 15

• Kevin gets an Air Force One untied and reaches top 15

• badKarl gets runway secret agent 22 after over 300 23 completions

Dusky, after 10 hours of degenning Goldfinger, attempting to get a truly remarkable untied of Airport Agent 21, gives into rage and smashes 5 more drinking glasses on the floor. He then proceeds to boot up Goldeneye before going to bed, completing a Frigate Agent 22 on his first try. His screech deafens those in voicechat at the time, which include JD, Harry, Sammy, and Ricky. They all suffer from ear damage and never recover. When Ace hears the news he refuses to believe it, demoting Dusky to super-ultra turncoat, which can only be replenished if Dusky plays 15 hours straight of TTYD (he never does).

Joris Achieves 70+ points on every GE/PD level by the end of 2019, shooting up to top 10 in both games. In the midst of this he also unties every OFOS time. Some of his notable times include Depot Agent 22 with both warps, Chicago PA 25, and skipping to Jungle Agent 49, sniping Karl's untied.

Mike Mint and Wally both achieve Surface 00A 1:23. The problem is, they seem to achieve it at the exact same time, both on stream. This is crucial, as the first to post will have the 300 point sweep on S2 for the first time in quite a while. Mike attempts to post, only to be thwarted by a new site update requiring  WRs to be posted with a video immediately. Wally had already known this and begun exporting his video file already. He attempts to upload to YouTube but the Aussie internet caues the 2 minute video file to take over 30 minutes to upload. Thus, Mike Mint uploads his video first and claims the untied slay.

Angered with Dusky's unrecorded 22, Ace grinds Frigate Agent at least 5 hours for most days of 2019. He ends up with over 500 legit B complete A failed 22s, and 5 more A complete B fail 22s. His fastest completion is a high 23 dupe where he fails to go down the final stretch of the ramp to the boat, with A on screen for nearly a second. In the meantime, however, he does finally achieve Runway SA 22 and Cradle Agent 33.

Clemens rises above Wodahs and Ace in point ranks to 2nd, achieving Runway SA 22 (which is barely enough to pass both of them). He also claims the any% record at 21:40, which has a remarkable 6:08 Frigate split, but, like Marc, gets trolled with the Worst FR.

One day in mid April, SammoSammy posts a mysterious, encrypted video in his SammoLuxury character, which, after much speculation from the community, seems to tease an unhoard. Everyone waits in anticipation, and a week later, Sammo posts another video, which shockingly unhoards him into the top 10 point ranks, bopping out both Goose and Jimbo. Some of the times he achieves are too remarkable to predict.

Irie Butler continues to stream, until one night, he somehow doesn't. People in his discord begin to panic, with some contemplating that he has left the elite for good. However, he returns to the lobby in his discord the next morning stating "I was so cook fried I couldn't find the 'start stream' button." He also hosts 5 more DabFests that year and marches his way into the top ten, improving his Train and Aztec times, and also reluctantly achieving S1 Agent 1:02.
Title: Re: ** The 2019 Predictions Thread! **
Post by: xzc on December 28, 2018, 06:44:07 pm
-Rayan “PerfectAce” I. shockingly unhoards times that give him enough points to retake champ as apart of a larger unhoard by a player outside of the top 100

-Qweczol returns to the elite discord and posts 5 new PB’s throughout the year

-Dusky climbs to the top 25 and gets 300 points on statue

-Irie breaks into the top 10 in late 2019 and does a 1 gram dab to celebrate, but falls asleep on stream later that night, causing twitch to issue him a 30 day ban. Irie picks up a different hobby during this time and slowly fades from his daily streaming even when the ban is over

-David Clemens retires from GE and PD, but after he is gone for 1 month he returns with an untied WR after 1 week of streaming again

-Goose not only has been planning his return and creating content, he has been grinding goldeneye since he has been gone and posts 3 WR’s during 2019

-Wodahs becomes very inactive and falls behind clemens in rank, despite his temporary retirement. Marc nearly passes Wodahs as well, but begins playing PD instead and gets 2 untides including Villa Agent 105, the PD run of the year.

-Frosthops shocks everyone with Frigate secret agent 58, causing Luke P to post a 57 4 days later. Luke goes back into the shadows, however he still replies to youtube comments on his 57 video

-The Any% wr gets lowered 7 times, and is the hot trend among top players. Clemens, ace, marc, and even Luke hold the WR at some point in 2019.

-Joris gets an Untied WR

-A player who joins the ranks in 2019 will crack the top 40 within the year

-Karl has a remarkable 2019 and shoots up the ranks to the number 4 spot by November, beginning to put pressure on Luke who reclaimed champ from Ace, but Clemens realizes he only needs Runway SA 22 to attain champ status and begrudgingly gets it on stream in December, ending the year as GoldenEye champ, despite his formal retirement a few months earlier

-Illu ties s2 00, but this is his only PB of the year

-Ryan Lockwood gets interested in GE after MOAM and begins to stream for silo 100/streets 1:11 during his winter break from school. He is extremely inconsistent with streaming but shockingly achieves one of these times in February. The popoff is not quite as good as his Streets 1:12, but because of Lockwoods viral status, the video reaction gets edited over the run and gets more views than the 1:12 reaction within 3 weeks

More to come..

Irie unties B1 00A after remembering that he likes that level.

Karl unties Jungle 49 with a backboost.

Ace unties Frig 22 off stream with no mic audio or webcam.

Wodahs unties Caverns SA 112 on stream with Talk Talk playing in the background.

Marc 59 happens 10 mins into a stream in late January.

Overall Combined time reaches 1:11:11 on Nov 11.

Irie, still unable to get Fac 44, switches to 2.x and skips to 43.

An elite TTYD let's play leads to a glitch discovery that cuts 10 mins off of a main category.

Luke starts a music review youtube channel that gains 500k subscribers by the end of 2019.

Useful out of bounds is discovered on one 00A stage, but only saves 1.3 second if done perfectly and is just barely viable with good RNG, leading to 40 players racing for the untied for weeks. JDBlack somehow gets it with an insane reaction and Dusky ties it a day later but is pissed off because he thought he had a chance at cutting off another second.

2019 Predictions: The Darkest Timeline

The Elite Civil War

The Elite Discord is brigaded by Reddit as part of a broader attempt to sanitise speedrunning. Established Eliters split into camps who either try to pacify newcomers with extensive virtue-signalling or just deliberately engage in inflammatory rhetoric to troll people. Spagooda attempts to bring both sides together, but he is frustrated by Goose alts + various shills spamming #GooseDidNothingWrong and #MakeTheEliteGreatAgain. Things reach a boiling point, and eventually, an insider turncoats Spagooda and throws him to the mob, forcing him to step down as admin.

There is absolute bedlam as the Elite begins to tear itself apart, including a counter brigade from the alt-right after the drama picks up some traction on the alt-right media. Any discussion of Goldeneye/Perfect Dark is inevitably derailed by moral panic, and, in the chaos, one of Goose's alts is voted admin on Discord and he begins harrassing and threatening to ban anyone who criticises him or the current administration. In response, an alternative, reddit-friendly "New Elite" discord is set up and the community officially fractures in two.

The New Elite is brought down as they attempt to crowdfund their own "Hate-Free MOAM" but they are caught misusing donation money and the try to cover it up by attempting to ban any talk of the scandal, which leads to them haemorrhaging support. In the original server Grav is continually frustrated in his attempts to steer conversation towards actual speedrunning, and after the 1000th time a post about modernising proof standards is derailed by drama, he leaks some stunning revelation about Goose which causes mass insurrection and Goose is forced out. The hashtag "EtTuGravite" takes off.

With both discords recklessly wielding the banhammer, all the banned refugees migrate to Karl's discord. Confronted with the fact that he will NEVER be free of the Elite, he goes on an epic rant onstream about how everyone needs to grow the fuck up. An edited version of the video with a Two Steps From Hell backing track gets included in various "Best Motivational Speeches 2019" compilations and ends up the top post of the year on r/speedrun. He is ultimately coronated as the de facto leader of the Elite precisely because he never sought the crown.

Risky pred: Whiteted ACTUALLY finds a viable strat in GoldenEye, resulting in exactly 1 untied world record.

Safe pred: Irrels continue to voice their opinions; rather than making a timespage and building good community rep, they randomly defend people who have even apologized themselves, making everyone scratch their heads as to why they are even here.

Guaranteed pred: Irie breaks into top 10 in Goldeneye, but is banned from the ranks due to dabs fueling his annihilation. A community vote loses 4-20 to reinstate him in the ranks, but he still plays and streams occasionally, unable to put the game or the dabs down.

At long last Ace moves to the U.S. to pursue his graduate studies.  Shortly after arriving on campus Ace realizes he needs a new controller stick to replace his current 2/10, and attends a university speedrunning club meeting to learn the goss on local resellers.  While at this meeting, Ace is recognized for his status in the-elite and the sweaty nerds (most of whom only speedrun ROM hacks on emulator) begin to worship him as a speedrunning deity. At first Ace is humored, but eventually becomes disturbed when everyone starts repeating his various catchphrases loudly in public at inappropriate times.  After Ace sees someone in a “Mate Where’s The TTYD Stream?” t-shirt in one of his classes, he starts researching how difficult it would be to transfer unis in grad school.

Oblivious to the 2019 political climate, Dusky mis-ages a forty-year-old man, who identifies as a 10-year-old, by calling him “sir” instead of “little boy” when he attempts to pre-order Big Chungus Adventure 2: Battle.  The man films his shouting match encounter with the confused Dusky, and the video goes viral. Dusky unwittingly becomes a short lived folk hero among memers and conservative media, ultimately leading to a one-on-one interview with Ben Shapiro.  Five minutes beforehand, Dusky finally googles “antifa” and “alt-right” for the very first time.

Bored out of his mind with his NEET lifestyle, Sam decides to take roadtrip tour of the U.S, livestreaming much of his trip along the way.   He gains a decent following livestreaming his adventures across the county and his various meetups eliters along the way.  Despite being NEET he manages to pay for his travels and mobile data by performing heavy metal classics in various bars for roughly $300 a night. Eventually, he makes his way to his old pal Glover.  While there, he cannot help but notice Glover drives a Porsche and lives alone in a three story house.  Glover gives Sam the runaround and refuses to talk about where he got all of this money from as a “”””””””NEET””””””, leading him to believe that Glover is actually some sort of professional wageslave, but a viewer of Sam’s stream later recognizes him as a guy who recently got a huge settlement from Taco Bell food poisoning.

Mistaken for a homeless man, Randy C. is handed $5 by an anonymous stranger on the street.  Rather than spend it on some gas station roller dogs, he purchases a scratch off ticket, which in turns earns him an additional $100.  Randy spends his winnings on the finest beer the ghetto gas station he is in has to offer, and drinks to the point of passing out.  Unfortunately, Randy was also scheduled to resume his PM64 playthrough during this time, leading Ace to demote him to Super Turncoat yet again. In search of a stream, Ace is forced to watch Sam Haycock play Cat Goes Fishing at 3am.

Setrack finally reveals that the “classes” he was taken were actually for a food science degree, and to his dismay is hired by Hungry Jack’s immediately after graduation.  While his 140 IQ causes him to quickly rise through the corporate ranks, his loyalty to Maccas gets the best of him.  Setrack intentionally sabotages the taste of the promotional Big Chungus Whopper (a promotional item for the release of Big Chungus Adventure 2: Battle) and is promptly fired.  Hours later, he is seen ordering a McChicken, fries, and Large Coke with no Ice from a nearby Maccas.

-Ace moves to the US for graduate school. He decides the capture his adventures in his new film Coming 2 America starring Eddie Murphy. He attempts to secure the services of the Paper Mario team to produce the film but when the sound director meets Ace and asks "who are you?", Ace immediately demotes the sound director to "Giga Turncoat", the first in human history. Ace achieves Facility 42 in a fit rage following the incident but does not post it or mention it in protest.

-After 200 hours of training mode, HarryCoupe performs a korean backdash in Tekken for 5 straight seconds. With his new found powers of execution, he realizes he was capable impressive feats all along. He posts S2 SA 46 fifteen minutes later as part of his rampage into the GE Top 50.

-Joris continues to impress, taking time out of his day of getting untieds in the ALH(all left hand) and PGWRWAP(playing goldeneye while reading war and peace) leagues to post Control 3:56 on April 15th.

-Dusky, after a 15 hour conversation with Wodahs at MOAM, achieves a pure enlightenment previously unseen on this planet. He takes the mantle of his new calling by changing his name to Dawny as he know understands the way of light. Dawny, in an incredible word play coincidence, discovers a glitch that allows you to play S2 during the day instead of at night. Being the first human to see the cameras from a mile a way, Dawny unties S2 00, LTK and DLTK by 3 seconds each.

-Flechr rises to prominence both on and off the game. His OOM(overall control of marching) makes him a local legend in Ohio while his record count rises and his video production gains him notoriety. One(1) night, during an sr stream, Flechr becomes the first player to skip BA on Aztec 00 and completes it for an untied. The ensuing reaction registers a 6.9 on the Richter scale as the madman Tombstone Piledrives his computer chair. The video is so potent that simply clicking on it ages Lqwerty by 10 years, making him 16 years old

-Irie gets B2 SA 44 but is so astronomically cooked that he thinks he's playing facility

-Sammo posts 3/4 of the boring four but, after failing runway 22 for the 500th time, he juggles his controllers in a fit of rage. This is witnessed by a TV producer walking by his house, who signs Sammo to his own variety show to air in primetime. Sammo becomes the Johnny Carson of his era and garners fans worldwide.

-MW unties Defection 17 and posts "yeah" in the comments

-GE untied: 3
-PD untieds: 14

BadKarl gets Runway SA 22, everyone ignores it completely and endlessly memes about his 200+ Runway SA 23 dupes. He is caught handing them out to noobs in exchange for votes in the community poll to add him to council, and his times page is suspended.

Kev. B gets Caverns Agent 1:00 and fails to pay out his bounty on it to himself. He is IP banned from the forums anyway.

BU7 returns, and we never find out it's him, but find a different reason to ban this new user and he becomes both BU7 and BU8.

At MOAM, Harry brings everyone PAL consoles, leading to a great devaluation in points on Train and Jungle. He claims on the forums no remorse for defiling the rankings.

Someone attempts to splice a time in PD and does a laughably terrible job. When confronted with obvious evidence, he flatly denies that the time is spliced and threatens MW with physical violence.

Randy Buikema rejoins discord, where he is mistaken for Randy "Randy B" C., and enraged by this, he doesn't post his Runway 00 27 untied he's been hoarding for 6 months out of laziness.

-Runway SA 22 is exposed by the 4 grenade juggle being tied by 50+ people by the end of 2019

-Runway 21 becomes confirmed possible by research done by Berg

-Irie spends a month grinding for Facility 43 unable to get it

-Irie joins the top 10

-Janne Pitkänen achieves top 100 making Kyto feel less alone, but in classical finnish style they still haven't had a full conversation with eachother yet.

-Runway 28 is tied by someone outside the top 10

-Aztec 1.23 gets tied by either Joris or Hayden

-ThaRixer gets Chicago 0.14, Clemens now thinks the time is shit and start campaigning for it to be a tier 6 or 7 time.

Summer league 2019 increases value of each goldeneye point by 1.3 to conteract top goldeneye players filling out their PD timespage. This causes some outrage in the PD community, but ultimately the amount of points gained by playing Perfect dark still outnumbers the total amount of Goldeneye points.

was bored @ work and wrote a few more

- BU7 achives Surface 2 Secret Agent 0:46, as an untied world record. It receives some attention, but the time is not ranked. Karl "unties" the record in the third quarter of this year.

- Jono purchases a house in suburbian Perth for $250K, confirming Ace's long-lasting speculation that Jono does indeed make $150K/year. He invites some mates over for a meet in the summer, which include Luke S., Wally183, and Jezz S. There is only one stream during the 3-day meet, and no pictures are taken to document it to the dismay of Ace. However, Luke achieves Bunker 1 00 Agent 1:02, which wins the "Best PR Achieved During a Meet" award. The live video is posted to r/speedrun, where it gains 200 upvotes & the YouTube video garners 800 views by the end of the year.

- Just after completing his degree in Electrical Engineering this spring, Yendis makes a trip to Iceland to see the Aurora Borealis. Ace requests him to stream this, which he does after resolving some Internet connectivity problems. Only a few minutes into the breathtaking view, A UFO can be seen loitering in the distance, followed by an alien-like sound which is heard by Yendis and all 25 viewers (mostly Eliters). While Yendis feels uncomfortable, he decides to keep streaming, walking closer and closer to the UFO zone. The stream is quickly floated across reddit & Twitter, and later picked up by leading news agencies such as CNN. Within 30 minutes the stream reaches 75K viewers, making it the #1 stream on Twitch. Ninja, who is streaming Fortnite simultaneously, is greatly bothered by this, opens the stream and yells "What? What? What? How is this so popular!?" before closing it in a fit of autism. Yendis is later interviewed by CERN, where he gets a job as an RF Design Engineer. Ace uses this episode to convince people to stream IRL more often, but most of the Elite remain adamant.

- Jimbo streams Cradle 00 Agent 0:33 attempts some time during the summer, and quits playing after a fruitless 7 hour session, even questioning his own presence in the top 10. He, however, forgets to shut his stream off and later can be seen having a steamy time with his wife. Before he realises, the stream is banned for 30 days. It makes it onto a Twitch Fail Compilation video on YouTube.

Cocomelon - Nursery Rhymes passes both Pewdiepie & T-Series to become the most subscribed channel on YouTube, surpassing 100 million subscribers by the end of the year.  Their many videos, in the vein of “Baby Shark” or “Johnny Johnny Yes Papa” become common meme fodder in the latter half of 2019.

MrBeast surpasses 40 million subscribers and becomes the 2nd most subscribed to individual YouTuber by the end of the year,  He becomes a regular target of legacy media, despite donating over $10,000,000 to various individuals and charities throughout the year, emblematic of the furthering rift between legacy media companies and online creators.

The #1 hit song of the summer is a collaboration between Florida Georgia Line and Post Malone, which samples “Take Me Home, Country Roads” as the chorus.  While many young folks enjoy the song as a summer party anthem, older folks, and especially West Virginians are enraged by what they consider a desecration of their holy song.  A West Virginian Senator tables a semi-joke bill, positing the banning of Post Malone from the state.  Surprisingly, it passes into law.

Elon Musk shocks the entire world when he starts a SpaceX livestream that people quickly realize is actually a manned lunar landing mission, the first one since 1972.  He does not travel into outer space himself, but has two or three astronauts on board who land and drive a Tesla out of the landing vehicle, leaving it parked on the moon.  While most people find this extremely cool and inspiring, the International Community is outraged, as they believe this violates the Treaty on Principles Governing the Activities of States in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space, including the Moon and Other Celestial Bodies.  Tesla stock skyrockets for a time, until Elon appears again on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast and it dips back to pre-moon landing prices.
