Every year, it has been a tradition in the-elite to post some troll jokes on April Fools' Day. A couple I remember are: one joke in which the rankings admins changed the names & colors of every player, and another where a new forum (https://forums.the-elite.net/index.php?board=46.0) was made on the boards. However, since the past couple of years, the jokes have moved from creative to extremely low-energy and dull, where bored people spam the rankings by posting nonsensical troll times, often untieds, with no video. I do not believe there were any other AFD jokes, apart from maybe Ace trolling his Discord server mates & turncoats with a fake notification icon in the Discord server image, which a few people fell for.

Honestly, I had no intentions of posting a low energy untied as a "joke". BUT, I KNEW after reading Clemens' comment that quickly posting the untied along with my comment would rouse a few chuckles in the Discord(s) (which it did), so my joke wasn't too bad. I immediately deleted it once the "joke" was over.

Not to come down hard on Alka for no reason, but I think his joke was the worst for the following reasons:
1: Defection 4 is the low hanging fruit of troll times. Good troll times should be shocking but not obviously fake.
2: There was little effort put into the posting of the time. A good troll time should have a clear purpose behind it and the material to back it up, rather than a one-off post just to set off the bot.
3: It's impossible to take Alka seriously any day of the year. So him posting a troll time was not particularly impactful.
In conclusion, Alka's time was the worst. Sorry Alka, better luck next year.

So the votes are OFFICIALLY in! Most people believe these rankings "jokes" were terrible and milquetoast, but MOST importantly, unnecessary work for the proof moderator to clean up at times. TNS also blew up, wasting valuable resources. It costs money to send these SMS notifications.
Anyone found posting dumb pranks will be PUNISHED, regardless of the date. The "pranks are okay if the proof mod is okay with it" rule is also being abolished. Clemens' Jungle Agent 0:49 joke was tasteless to several people and stirred up unneeded controversy. The rankings are NOT your personal playground.

Also, the worst AFD joke is the thread that craps on AFD jokes. :smirk:

I want the rule gone because proof moderators can be biased and sometimes make poor decisions. Allowing Clemens' 0:49 is a PRIME example of a distasteful joke. Imagine spending 800 hours for Facility 0:42, and then getting dogged by Clemens conspiring with mw to allow some fake joke record for a day before revealing it was just to "troll" Ace. Troll me? It would send me into complete MEDICAL shock.
I can't see how this rule would be beneficial in a way. I have never seen a good use of this "rule" nor do I think I will. Maybe the rule is alright, but proof moderators need to have the judgement to only allow good, healthy fakes.

No fake is good or healthy. It's an AFD joke, not an AFD healthy.
