With this community growing more and more every day, we need a space for new members of the elite to introduce themselves!
Let us know who you are, where you come from, and your story.
-
I'll start with myself.
My name is Jacob Hunt, and i've been making content on YouTube since 2011, as well as about 4 years on Twitch. I've been around for a while, and know a thing or two about a thing or two.
- I'm 24 years old
- I come from New York
- i've been to Canada, like once
- I run 2 miles every day before work, as well as on the days I have off
- I was introduced to GoldenEye speed running a year ago
-
Very healthy topic, hope more new players introduce themselves :v

Hi all, my name is Scott - I’ve been playing GE since new back when I was all of 10 years old. I’ve played sparingly over the past few years, but starting to get back into it. I’ve been poking around a few streams over the past year or so under the username or rollsorferrari. A little background, I live in St. Louis, I’m 32 years old, I travel a lot for work (roughly 45 weeks a year on the road), and I was introduced to true GE speedrunning roughly a year and a half ago, right about the same time as Karl’s dam 52. I’m looking forward to getting to know more about the game and hopefully entering the rankings.

Welcome to the-elite, Scott! :)

Yeah welcome dude thanks for the introduction

Thanks all. I'm going to work on updating my times page this weekend, as well as work on ordering a capture card for future recordings. With the exception of maybe 5 or so levels, the majority of my times were set in the 97-00 timeframe, so it'll be interesting for me to see off the bat how much I'm able to improve with the strats I've discovered since lurking around for a while. Again, I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone better and being a bit more active in the long run.

Howdy all,
Long time lurker, am finally in a position to spend some time properly on Goldeneye.
My name is Sam, Live in Melbourne Australia, and have enjoyed Goldeneye speedruns/streams for years. (I think my old forum name may have been P3PS1 - Although the only run I ever recorded was Archives DLTK with a mobile phone)
Thank you to Irie for some advice on the capture card - patiently awaiting and look forward to getting more invovled
Cheers

Cheers dude! Loving seeing all these new people getting into the game, especially long time lurkers who found some time to try themselves!

I’m new to the community. I’m currently trying to get my Dam 57 publish on the record site. I’m pretty proud but I still feel it’s not good enough. I bought my first 64 a couple of days ago since I was a kid and I’ve just been running the hell out of the Goldeneye cartridge since. This’ll be my first ever real speed running game.

We're glad to have you here! Feel free to post any times to the rankings, even if you don't feel they're good enough. There's plenty of time to beat your records later. Make sure to check out the tutorials thread pinned in the Goldeneye subforum and ask questions to see what you're doing wrong.

Hey all,
I'm Chris!
Huge fan of GoldenEye and have recently been fascinated by the history here thanks to rwhitegoose's fantastic SpeedLore series. While I don't imagine I will be speed running any time soon (not least because I don't actually have a Nintendo 64 and haven't done for over 15 years) I wanted to join so I can follow some of the discussions on here.
I'm still getting a lot of enjoyment out of GoldenEye today, albeit through an emulator on my PC (too easy with a keyboard and mouse though heh). I frequently do 100% play throughs and challenge myself to complete them in a reasonable time. Last run was slower than usual at 1 hour 37 minutes (just over an hour to do the full 00A play through without A/SA cheats).
Keen to pick up an N64 at some point and see how long it takes me to do a full play through. Likely much longer, of course, but that's not important to me. It's a fun game to play and that's all that matters.
I've thought about recording my runs and uploading them (for fun) but I think there's already enough of that content on YouTube.
Anyway, glad to be here and exciting to see what the future holds for the elite.

Hi All,
My Name is Chris 35 from Australia.
Been a fan of Goldeneye since it's release I have followed the Elite since the early days had some competitive times but never had the ability to record them so I never posted them.
I have been away for about 10 years maybe longer I have since returned, with a new set up ready to start up again, But these new strats are blowing my mind it isnt as easy as I thought it would be. All my times currently posted on my times' page are from my original PAL cartridge all set in the early 2000's. Hoping to get some Proven point-scoring times soon, Within a couple of seconds on a few levels just need to refine a few things wish I had never left.
This is an awesome inclusive community here very impressive.

Welcome back!

Thanks mate.... Gonna be a long road I think

I understand that this topic is quite old, but I don't feel a new one is necessary.
Hello everyone!
My name is Anthony Sergi I'm 31 years old and I'm from Australia. I live in a small rural city called Mildura in the state of Victoria about 550 km (about 340 miles) from the state capital of Melbourne. I have been happily married to my beautiful wife for 2 years now and hoping to have kids in the next 12-18 months.
I have played Goldeneye from the initial launch of the N64. (Still have my original cartridge) While I'm not a speedrunner myself, I absolutely love watching speedrunning. Karl and Goose's speedrunning lore/history videos are some of my favourite videos to watch. I have always known about Goldeneye speedrunning, but didn't really get super into it until I saw Bass Boost's amazing AGDQ 2013 run, then the awesome AGDQ 2014 CO-OP run with Bass and Goose. Been lurking for ever, but for whatever reason I thought now was the time to make an account. Look forward to getting into all manner of discussions with you guys.
